I want to give a shout out to the building's maintenance and cleaning staff. They are very responsive and always keep the building clean and in order. I had two plumbing requests in the past week and they responded to both within a day, including replacing my sink fixture. They are also very friendly and kind.

Have lived in the building since 2010. Have seen the building's management go from first class - comparable to 5-star hotel service delivered, to now an intolerable level, where there is a distinct lack of care. I was there when Eileen was there. And Sabrina and other managers (and don't forget Mr. Noor - such a kind person, too) who were salt of the earth, and genuinely helpful and kind people. They were simply the best and the reasons why we felt so lucky to live in a place like VSP - there was such a high standard. They went above and beyond.Now, in the past year, actually months, with the latest change in management, it's like the Twilight Zone in terms of getting a simple maintenance request fixed (almost like we're imposing to ask for a a functioning washing machine or dishwasher). Appliances go without repair or even communication about the repair for days. It's very hard to convey messages or communicate with management so that there seems to be comprehension. Simple glitches with logins to the portal are not fixed. The front desk personnel who have started in the last year or two can go from totally friendly to being totally obnoxious, depending. Yesterday when I arrived home at Virginia Square Plaza, I was trying to get a package - one small package (a medical device that is necessary) - and the front desk told me rudely to "wait 5-10 minutes" because he was VERY busy with a task he needed to complete. He was hostile. What? I was shaken because it was so disorienting to be treated in this manner. But that seems par for the course with new management at VSP. The clerk was labeling boxes with a felt pen. It was absurd. There were several people in the back office at the time, and I just had to stand there - feeling trapped in my own building by the people who work there, who operate with such callousness.Get your priorities straight and understand the client relationship. Don't treat us so poorly and hire competent people who understand that the people who live in the building are actually clients. Civility cannot be taught and some of the current staff lack it.The building itself is top-notch Dittmar construction, and maintenance staff are overworked, but the kindest people, and good at what they do. Dittmar Corporate Office are extremely attentive and provide amazing customer service, but we need a better building manager who cares and serves in our best interests. This isn't working.

I lived at Virginia square plaza for 5 and a half years and my time there was absolutely wonderful. The building staff is amazing, Ayan and Sabrina were always helpful in solving any problem I was having. Maintenance was always prompt and my issue was solved immediately. The unit itself was also good, the walls are pretty soundproof, I never heard my neighbors and there wasn't alot of noise from the very busy road outside. Common spaces were always clean and well maintained. It's a very affordable option for the location. Overall I will always cherish the time I spend at vsp and will miss hanging out at the front desk.

I have lived at VSP in two separate units! The location is unbeatable, steps away from the metro (orange/silver lines), walkable to Clarendon (bars/nightlife) and Ballston (restaurants/shopping). Maintenance and front desk staff are always kind and responsive! I had to move cross country for a work relocation and they helped me through the entire lease revision process. And I had A LOT of questions! Their patience and understanding was greatly appreciated. They care about their residents and it shows. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at VSP and wouldn't be leaving if it weren't for the work relocation. 10/10, would definitely recommend!

Been living here for 8 years. Management is on top of maintenance, usually next day resolution. Most space for your money. Gated garage with security patrol and big parking spots. Solid construction so you don't hear your neighbors.Overall, well run and great place to live.

Virginia Square Plaza Apartments is a top-notch place to call home! We have lived here since 2001 and have received excellent service these twenty years! Dittmar invests in quality employees; we have had wonderful interactions at all levels, from our corporate requests to working with building management, from front desk staff to building porters, all the way to various maintenance staff. Everyone is very friendly and professional. We have many friends in the building staff. When any concerns have arisen, they have been addressed promptly and above our satisfaction. We would highly recommend chosing your next apartment at Va Sq Plaza Apartments!

I usually do not make reviews but I need to write about this one! I still haven't moved into my new place but the first time I went to see the building I was in love with it! Awesome location, in front of the metro station/ starbucks, the apt is new and clean and the most important thing: Jacquelyn, the leasing manager, was the nicest person ever! Amanda, the manager, was super friendly and made the application process extremely easy and helpful. I will be moving from the West coast and I was worried about not finding the right apt. Instead, I found a place where the staff are friendly, the building is clean, the price is awesome, and the location is amazing. I am so excited to move in!

My roommate and I love it here! Staff are friendly and helpful. We put in a request for maintenance and it was taken care of quickly and efficiently. a great price for this location and amenities that come with it. The apartment is spacious and gets lots of light. We are really happy.

I had to relocate in December 2019 for a few months pending an overseas relocation and Virginia Square Plaza (Dittmar in general I guess) has a great process for taking over someone else's lease. I qualified and the process was virtually seamless. I immediately loved the layout of the apartment (1bd/1ba), with hardwood floors in the living area, bar/counter area off the kitchen, full size washer/dryer in the unit, walk-thru closet and balcony access off both the living room and bedroom. For my needs, it is spacious, extremely quiet, has all the amenities I desired and I love, love, love that there is a reasonable flat rate monthly cost for the utilities. The custodial and maintenance staff are wonderful. The front desk and management are professional and very responsive. Although many of the amenities are unavailable right now due to COVID 19, they are plentiful and they will again be available to all tenants eventually. With Virginia Square Metro station right across from the building, public transportation doesn't get more convenient than that. I also love the fact that when I need to rent a car for the weekend, I can opt to park in the apt complex garage for a small fee or take advantage of the plentiful street parking which is free on Sundays. Sadly my time living here is coming to an end. But I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I will keep the company in mind for future rental needs. Thank you!

Edit due to reply: to be clear, this was not an issue with "the staff" (read the first sentence) but specifically the resident manager. The resident manager is the only reason this was not a five-star review.The vast majority of the staff here is phenomenal, and it's a cool little building. However, when my roommate moved away, I decided to get a one bedroom in a different building instead of staying here because of the resident manager. The manager is very petty towards staff and residents and imposed additional, silly addendums to the lease beyond what Dittmar requires. One example: the manager threatened to revoke our agreement because I entered the building through the garage on foot to escape the rain (!). The manager creates a hostile environment for staff and residents and ruins what would otherwise be a fantastic experience.

Horrible experience !! Showed us an apt which is actually not going to be the one in which we were suppose to move, a completely different style . VSP took $400 (move in fee) for nothing to keep the apartment and said will show you the exact apt before 15 days of moving. No calls, no emails to follow up that the actual house is ready to see. After calling to James and Windy , found the house is still under move out process a week before move in. We finally decided not to move to VSP and wanted our $400 back. They said they will not return it. what kind of move in fee is it when we have not moved. HOAX management !

Great location! The apartment is located one away block from the Virginia Square Metrorail Station and across the street from the Arlington Arts Center.
