Grandson #4 decided to make his entrance early at 33 weeks. I feel very confident with VHC as my last Grandson was born at 35 weeks. Shout out to Nurses Meg in Antepartum and Jade in Labor and Delivery(who is also a Howard Alum!!) . As I am also a Nurse, they make me proud with their amazing care they delivered. The staffed is very attentive and thoughtful and that makes all the difference in the world. I felt that my Daughter and Grandson were safe with the double check in process. The hospital was very bright and clean. I love the decor photos of all the beautiful babies. I had an amazing experience and would recommend VHC to anyone.

My husband is currently in here for acute rehab after he had a stroke. The nurses, occupational therapist, speech therapist, and physical therapist's have nothing been short of amazing. They really care about their patients and the caregivers. There are just too many nurses and staff to name. my only complaint is the seven dollar a day parking charge :-) Heart

Visited a relative several times here. Excellent hospital. Nurses are attentive. Rooms clean and new. Cafeteria should have better hours because long days by the hospital bedside isn't always 9-5

I had a terrible experience here with the GI group on Monday. Without revealing too much personal information, if you are looking for a place that will answer your questions and not rush you through things, this is definitively not it. The words "assembly line" came to mind for me, and when I said that to the patient care representative, she agreed with the description, as if it was something to be proud of. If that's what you want in health care, then I guess this is your spot. If not, look elsewhere.

My spouse received back surgery recently at VHC. She has Parkinson's disease and had a very bad experience getting hospital staff to administer her Parkinson's meds in a timely fashion. They also mishandled scheduling her post operative physical therapy. This hospital has serious staff communication and training problems that need to be addressed by hospital management. I question how VHC became a Mayo Clinic Network member with such problems in patient care.

Stay away! Had a confirmed appointment in September and was told first that I was not scheduled when I tried to check in and then told the referral was incorrect. It's something you do not want to hear at 7:00am. Intervention radiology is horrible. Nursing staff is great but they are using part time physicians! I guess they are baristas at coffee shops the other half of the week? Never again. Go to Inova or medstar Georgetown

Do NOT get imaging done at VHC. The whole process is dysfunctional and inconvenient. I'm literally amazed that this is how things are run. My doctor works for VHC and ordered a MRI. When I called to schedule it, the VHC Radiology voicemail said to email your order to a VHC email address in order to get an appointment. Which is crazy that, 1) unlike INOVA, it's not just in the system and 2) this is not a secure way to handle your private health information and 3) brings up accessibility issues. But in the grand scheme of things, not a huge deal. Here is the truly unbelievable part. I get my imaging done in the nice new VHC building and I go to the desk to get a CD copy like my doctor requested on his order. They tell me, unlike Washington Radiology, I can't get it at the front desk. I need to take a SHUTTLEBUS to a different building to get it. While at the medical library, I'm asked to fill out more paperwork (why was that not included in the initial paperwork I needed to fill out the night before and then again in the first building/MRI facility?) Go to INOVA or Washington Radiology or really anywhere else, even if it is a few more miles away. You will save yourself time and aggravation.

I had the best experience at VHC ! From the moment I walked through the ER doors I was greeted with a smile. The women that checked me was so patient and I was taken back in less than 10 minutes. The nurses and doctors checked on me constantly and made sure I understood what was happening. They were thorough with their testing and were actually able to figure out what was wrong. I had been seeing different doctors for months with no answers. The surgeons explained everything in great detail and the surgery went well. I can't say enough good things about VHC!

VHC Falls Church: Completely unprofessional - I, along with my insurance have been trying to reach the office manager for over a month to get a billing issue resolved. I've left messages with her receptionists and so has the insurance and she has not called back/is never available to talk on the phone. My issue is I had a standard physical done and because the Dr wrote 1 referral in passing, they billed me for 2 office visits (physical + 45 minute outpatient visit) for the entire appointment didn't even last for 45 minutes! The referral wasn't even my idea! I received a $522 bill for a physical which usually is covered under my insurance. It's shady business practice and now that my insurance and myself are trying to correct the issue the office is no help!

We gave birth to our beautiful baby girl at VHC! One of my go-to stories is about the Labor and Delivery Nurses at VHC! Long story short is we were in L&D for ~48 hours/4 different shifts and I felt like each nurse was sent for that specific time. Sarah S. was amazing as we first got there and really made us feel comfortable. Fiona!! Fiona was amazing and had the night shift as labor really set in. From 7pm-7am I felt like Fiona was completely in control and did everything to make my wife comfortable (Fiona we hope you enjoyed the Nats game after you got off, baby girl is doing amazing!) Fiona sure enough introduces use to our next nurse, Amber, and on Amber’s second visit it was go time. If I ever get to see Amber again the chest bump will be awesome, Amber helped deliver baby girl! After that we had a few more hours with Nurse Stella who was the quiet calm that made us comfortable for our first hours as a new family. I’ll never forget the nurses for our baby, Erika, Mya, and Broke. It was a wonderful experience and while every childbirth comes with its difference experience, the one thing I will always remember is when my wife told me she felt comfortable and most importantly, safe. Thank you! -Proud #Girldad

I’ve been to this hospital a few times i had family admitted and token care of here. But the service and staff members who are working here is very disrespectful and inconsiderate. No one has compassion or a proper understanding of I’m not a NUMBER! I’m a human being treat my illness or my reason for being here just as important as you wanting your pay check. The security is very DISRESPECTFUL and tasteless. No matter the situation you’re a THREAT. Virginia hospital center.. DO BETTER.

My second surgery here and my spouse had one as well. We have had surgery elsewhere but this facility is head and shoulders above the others we have been to. It was the most professional and most welcoming we have been to. We recommend them without reservation.

My father was admitted here after he had a stroke. All the specialist were kind and understanding to the situation. There was 1 thing that concerned us. The front office gave us his room number and we walked into his ward without any form of identification. Aside from that, the staff was wonderful and treated him with care and dignity. Also a thank you to the pretty speech/swallow therapist Nina for communicating his current condition and updating his improvement. I feel my dad is in great care.

I want to share my recent experience at this hospital to express my disappointment with their current level of service and care. As someone who has frequented this hospital over the years, I've typically had positive experiences. However, things have taken a turn for the worse since the end of the Covid pandemic. On September 22, 2023, at around 11:30 pm, I checked myself into the emergency room due to chest pain, numbness in my left arm and neck, shortness of breath, and lightheadedness. The initial checks, such as temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels, were promptly conducted. I even received an IV and had labs drawn, indicating that I expected a relatively quick evaluation and discharge. Unfortunately, this was not the case.Despite having an IV in place, my symptoms were not addressed, and I was not offered an ECG test, which has been a standard procedure for chest pain in previous visits. What particularly frustrated me was witnessing an older patient with similar symptoms being offered an ECG while I waited without any updates or my name being called. This experience has left me questioning the quality of care at this hospital. In contrast to previous visits, my last three encounters have been marked by subpar service. Instead of attending to patients, the nursing staff often engage in chit-chat, leaving patients unattended.I suffer from chronic pain due to my health condition, and despite visible distress, neither the nursing staff nor the doctors offered assistance or empathy. After this experience, I have decided to seek care elsewhere, even if it means a longer drive to a different hospital, such as INOVA, where I expect a higher standard of service. If you find yourself in a medical emergency requiring immediate attention, I strongly advise considering alternatives to this hospital or calling for an ambulance, as my recent experiences suggest that timely care may not be guaranteed here.
