Terrible the fact there is already pest problems an now water issues , there haven't been water for 3-4 days and they don't even communicate that why cut water off or give you any updates I would say worst complex toLive they make you do all these things an move an don't help you with anything but want to charge you rent for a terrible living condition

Mr Clarence Little in the maintenance department is the best! He's always willing to help (even with minor issues) during his busy work day. Mr Clarence (as he's known to residents) is a great asset to Bell Partners! His pleasant demeanor and outstanding professionalism makes my experience here enjoyable and care free!

Seems to be labeled incorrectly. This is not a market for other than apartment tenants. Not too helpful.

This building is affordable for the area but it has so many problems. Within the last month had a serious leak in the air conditioner which soaked the carpet in the living room. A mouse infestation. Then today entered my apartment to a powerful noxious chemical smell caused by some work they were doing in another apartment and the vapors were coming through the air vents in the bathroom. The apartment has nice space and huge windows. Staff is terrific. Shirlington village is a lovely place to live.

This was a very challenging rating to give for this apartment complex as there are really great amenities and renovations over the years from what I've seen online and in person. Beginning with the previous reviewer, I do have to agree that per our housing policy, any form of smoking is not allowed within the building. There's a convenience store in the back of the building and down the hallway is a VERY strong smell of marijuana. It doesn't bother me per say but when I have to go out and walk my dog, I feel worried and concerned that my furry little best friend might be inhaling whatever they're smoking. So I'm overall not upset but I can't say it doesn't bother me.In regards to the management team, Rachael, Theresa and Troy are generally very responsive. I have a bit trouble when it comes trying to reach out to Joey but I know he's also working on multiple things at a time. As of lately though, I have been frustrated with the amount of emails and phone calls I have made to have someone help me with both pests and mice issues. It's been a monthly issue since April and is still not yet resolved. The first time i contacted management in April, they had management come in and fill in any holes/gaps where mice may have come in. Unfortunately, they did so incorrectly and they came back in May. The same issue occurred in June, and now we're in JULY. This is clearly an unresolved issue and I'm under the suspicion that there is a mice infestation. Management unfortunately keeps denying this issue but it's been an ongoing challenge over the last 3 months. As of recently, management has been non-responsive to my requests. It's frustrating because I'm having to chase them on a regular basis. What truly irritated me though was that even with this issue, they decided to increase rent by close to $50 a month when my renewal came up. I attempted to speak with them to keep my current rate especially after the experience I've had but they denied it. The pros to living at Shirlington House is its convenience to everything. There's plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, a movie theater, grocery/convenience stores that are walking distance and rent is fairly reasonable in the Arlington area.

Probably one of the better apartments we had lived in. We had an amazing view from our apartment. We did have an ant problem that seem to not go away for several days. Maintinence could have been slightly quicker to deal with the issue, but overall pretty well. We wish the rent didn't increase so dramatically, that is our main complaint and management didn't seem to budge on being willing to negotiate.

My experience with Shirlington House has been amazing!! I love how they have a little convenient store which has saved me from many unwanted trips, their gym truly is amazing with a squat rack with an actual barbell and many other pieces of equipment, but my favorite part has to be the staff, most especially Troy!! He has been so responsive from the minute we moved in to renewing our lease yet again!! He's always really shown to care about any issues or concerns we've had and has been so outstanding in every step of our stay here! He truly is amazing and normally a lot of apartment managers or employees aren't so this a breath of fresh air!! Thank you Troy!!!! And shirlington House

This place is a walking contradiction. The residential building is a non-smoking one, however, marijuana can be smelled throughout the building and various floors at times. The leasing staff fail to address this issue and rather you go out of your way to find out who is smoking. It clearly states in the lease agreement that any kind of smoking in the building and in the apartment units is a violation of the smoking addendum in the lease agreement. To me it seems like the leasing staff doesn't care to want to address the issue even when it's a CLEAR VIOLATION. I've sent 4 emails over the same issue regarding the weed smell and it traveling through the hallways and in other units and NO REPLIES. Only one where I was basically told to find out where the smell is coming from. It's not my job to investigate. In the past they only sent out one mass email. That's it. It is a shame that I have to place my floor fan at my front door to prevent the marijuana smoke from entering my unit and light candles to get rid of the smell. It's also unfortunate that I have a job where I can't be around marijuana or be exposed too long from secondhand smoke!! Damn shame!!!!!!! And when it comes to finances, I can't just up and move. Also, before moving from one unit to another I had a serious roach problem that was clearly an infestation since the day I first moved in. I had pest control come out countless times and the issue was never resolved and they merely stated that it wasn't an infestation when it clearly was for the amount of times I've seen bugs and roaches in my apartment daily! Then moving to another unit I seen a mouse crawl in my AC Unit and bad pest control come and basically put a band-aid on the issue. The building itself is old and and the laminate flooring in my unit was poorly done and can see parts of the old flooring underneath the gray laminate. The hallways don't look the greatest as far as marks and paint peeling off the walls. This place could be better but it seems like the staff aren't doing much to resolve issues and rather just put a band-aid on issues and hope for the best. I'm thankful for being moved to another unit, but it's really hard to overlook the other issues.

Update! My apartment has been disgustingly hot over the past couple weeks. I attempted to email the assistant property manager and never got a reply. It is impossible to find the property managers email. I've submitted a maintenance request and they tell me to open up windows (it was 80° outside). They claim there is nothing they can do to help. Wonder who I can send my hotel bills to?

Has basically everything you'd need at a quick convenience. It's the perfect store to visit when you forgot something at the grocery store or need something while in the middle or cooking. Great owner too! Super nice.
