If anyone banks at Germantown MD Navy Federal Bank please don't. Friday the 6th and as well as March I have been treated badly at this bank location. It all started with the front welcome host named Betty at this location. This woman was rude, disrespectful, and had wrong information in dealing with me. She informed me that Navy Federal bank do not have on line Cashiers check available at the Germantown Bank. She then informed me that I need to stand on line with the 10 people and wait to retrieve my on line cashiers check. I informed her that the bank promotes it. She still insisted that I stand on the long line. I then asked for the manager. she then got up and got the manager. Betty and the manager CORY came out together 10 minutes later. Cory the manager was rude disrespectful and he Threatened me. He informed me that I need to stand on line or wait until the line dies down. I asked him if he can retrieve my cashiers check and he told me NO! The conversation became heated and he threatened to close my account. Two times he said this to me. I have been issuing on line cashier checks since the Corna Virus entered the USA. People in the bank were even responding to Navy Federal front office representatives. This is where I do my entire banking. I now have decisions to make. I know one thing for sure, I will never ever go back into the Germantown Navy Federal Poor Service bank again. I rate this bank a 000000000000000.

I witnessed a deplorable interaction between the manager whose name badge said Pamela and a Filipina lady who had been scammed. Appalling behavior.

I had a terrible experience while filming this bank outside on public property. The security guard “J. Lindsey” walked up to me and demanded ID and for me to leave the area because they were on “high alert.” News flash: my camera is not a weapon and if I were up to no good, I’d use a hidden camera. And to top it off, Mr. Lindsey identified as a cop, tried blocking my camera, and made up lies to try to get me to stop filming. This security guard is powerless and can’t detain or ID citizens. Very unprofessional and uneducated. It’s shameful this place doesn’t know our constitutional rights on filming on public property.

I have banked with Navy Federal for decades. This review is specifically written for the branch location on Randolf Street in Ballston. There were two tellers that were actually doing something, but even they were moving slightly slower than a glacier on a geologic timescale. The rest of the employees, 6-8 or so, were standing or sitting around just staring at the slowly lengthening line of customers. Not sure what purpose these people had, but it has the appearance of a Navy Federal jobs program. Stood in line for 10 minutes with the same people being helped by the tellers as when I had walked in. Not a good look or good experience Navy Federal. Better Lean Six Sigma this place because there are clearly efficiencies that can be gained...

Terrible experience at Ballston location!! This is the second time I have been serving from the same unprofessional Banker Kehkishan and both times I haven't been able to get the help that I wanted. First she in not professional dressed. With the respect from other countries but pls dress professional not so many colorful and dirty shirts. Second, I wanted balance transfer from another CC to NAVY and she doesn't have any information how to do that. She was reading me instructions and procedures..like what?? When asked about fee she had no idea she keep reading. Left disappointed and without help. Had to call customer service. Very bad experience!!

The CDs they advertise as a certain interest rate is not exactly true. If you take a CD for less than a year such as 6 months your interest rate will be one half of the advertised rate. They don't tell you that. The Call Center doesn't understand that. And it is NOT CLEAR in the CD document. Most of us are not finance experts so the language they throw at you when you question it is even more confusing. Bottom Line: DO NOT TRUST the NFCU practices of CDs. I'm in the process of working on this with a lawyer. It is obvious that they are not acting as a "fiduciary" for their members. They could not even understand that word when I asked them about it! I've learned their clerks at the branches are not well trained - I've had to challenge them on things. And the managers do not know federal law about federal items that they control. What?!? Truly! I'm with them because they don't charge fees like banks.

Why can't I just call the local branch? After spending 10 minutes fighting a computer to ask a simple question about the branch, I get dropped off of the call. This is terrible service. What year is it?

I’ve been coming to this particular branch for over a year. During this time I have only had great service. The staff are courteous and helpful. Unfortunately, during this time I have noticed a few “entitled” members pout and stomp their feet when they can’t dictate policy. One member became angry when the teller didn’t accept his business card as identification when attempting to make a withdrawal. Another member came in with a huge amount of soiled dollar bills for deposit and became angry when the greasy money jammed the bill counter machine. Want to guess what her profession, never mind, you get the picture. Then there are those who think and act like they can dictate the day to day policies put in place for their safety. Unbelievable!! As a honorably discharged veteran, I am embarrassed for the actions and attitudes of some of these members, whose eligibility to even be members is beyond questionable. I’ve seen less whining and crying at a daycare center. After reading some of these infantile comments, I would suggest to NFCU that they check each and every member’s legitimacy and close those accounts that should have never been opened in the first place.

I hope Anthony and all my “college buddies” end as tellers and security. Highway robbed without having any IDs or reason for purchase. Lemon car sold with some records hidden by company that have false dates. Way to go! Another black man that also looks latino that he’s not allowed to “make it.” Even the black teller and apparent middle eastern con artists.

Navy federal is one the worst credit unions in the USA. I applied debt consolidation loan and they did not approve. The reason? Well, because I do not keep my savings in navy federal. As a military spouse I am frustrated with their service.

On June 1st 2021 this bank location refuses to accept my I.D after accepting it 12 times before simply because it was crack. My I.D has been the same way the past 12 times. After speaking to the manager the stated that she cannot accept crack I.D because it stated in the company Policy that crack I.D is not accepted. I asked her to provide me the company policy that states so she said " I can not provide you with that information because its an internal policy that's not written on paper and I'm telling you so that it not accepted". I told her you do know that I'm an account holder here and you and your staff have accepted my same exact I.D. before and she said yes. Mind you the teller had just accepted my I.D 5 minutes before when i made a deposit into one of my account. 5 minutes later i need to wire money to family abroad and now the same exact I.D is no longer accepted. Let's just say after many years with this bank I will NO longer come to this location and looking to go to Chase Bank. Her behavior and the way she represented herself and Navy Federal Credit Union was a disgrace and very disrespectful as well as Humiliating to me and Navy Federal Credit Union and what they represent especially when it comes to family.
