Really enjoy living here! I love the location and the amenities. Everything (except the elevators) is always very clean and the staff is generally very kind and helpful. Very close to the metro which is a plus and plenty of stores within a few minutes walk. We were initially concerned about parking as some reviews complained about the garage.. some of the spots are very small but we can always find a spot and the garage feels safe/secure. Only complaint is the elevators… the carpets get kind of gross, they smell, and considering there are 5 elevators we sometimes wait quite a while but overall this is a minor thing. Definitely recommend the Meridian and plan to stay here as long as we are in the area!

The best apartment I've ever stayed at.
- leasing office is communicative and reasonable. Maintenance crew is responsive and very friendly.
- amenities are well maintained (fast elevators, great gym)
- fantastic location. Just a 2 min walk to Ballston metro, right next to many fast casual and sit down restaurants at Ballston Quarters. You can easily take a nice stroll into the nice surrounding SFH neighborhoods, and access Bluemont Trail which leads to Four Mile Run. A 5 min drive to the rose garden. Cannot say enough good things about the location.

My year at the Meridian at Ballston Commons has been wonderful! Quality amenities include a video-monitored package room, a clean fitness center with just about everything you need, a friendly concierge, a spacious club room with a billiards table and wet bar, as well as a rooftop pool. The 1st floor common areas have been renovated, which adds a modern touch to the building. If you have a dog, there's a dog washing station on the P1 garage floor.
What's unique about the Meridian at Ballston Commons is that all of the units above the 3rd floor have sunrooms rather than balconies. This means you can enjoy that space all year round! My apartment specifically has high ceilings and hardwood floors in the common areas. It was renovated before I moved in, so I was able to take advantage of the newly-furnished GE appliances, and believe me I did. I liked having a walk-in closet and in-unit washer and dryer as well. Maintenance is quick to solve any problems, but I had very few maintenance issues because the building is well-maintained.
The location is unbeatable. I worked in Ballston so my commute was a short walk away. Even if you don't work here, and have to commute to work, the Ballston-MU metro station is right across the street. It is clear that management cares about the building as well as its tenants. I only moved out because I'm relocating and I will miss this place. Everything here is top shelf and I highly recommend the beautiful Meridian at Ballston Commons to anyone considering moving to Ballston.
I would like to thank Robyn for being a wonderful leasing agent and my go-to for anything apartment related.

Giving Robyn Ulrich (from the leasing office) 5 stars because she is truly the best. She was always available, super helpful, and so kind! Definitely ask for Robyn if you are interested or touring the building, or if you’re a current resident that has any questions/concerns. We couldn’t have been happier to know her during our time there!

I lived at the Meridian for just over a year and can confidently say it offers a serene living experience, especially on the 7th floor where I resided. Noise from neighbors was virtually non-existent, making it an ideal spot for those who value peace and quiet. The location is a major plus, surrounded by ample food choices and convenient public transportation options.Leasing StaffInteractions with the leasing staff were mainly during move-in, and I found them quite helpful. Despite a few minor hiccups throughout the year, any issue was swiftly resolved with a simple email or phone call.Common SpacesThe building underwent renovations for a significant part of my stay, affecting individual rooms, the lobby, and other amenities. Since I don't work from home, the construction didn't bother me much, though the lobby renovation meant a minor inconvenience of fetching DoorDash deliveries from downstairs. The gym's upgrade, while visually appealing, was a letdown as it retained old equipment and didn't seem to optimize the available space. If you're serious about fitness, you might find the commercial gyms across the street more to your liking. The computer area and new dog washing station are nice additions, although I personally didn't use them.SecurityThe introduction of updated key fobs was meant to enhance security, but the ease with which these can be duplicated at local kiosks raises concerns. That said, the presence of staff in the lobby until 2 am adds a layer of security. Throughout my stay, I wasn't aware of any incidents like car break-ins, which speaks well for overall safety.ParkingParking can be manageable if you find a spot early in the evening; however, it gets tight later on. A simple repaint of the lines could alleviate much of the congestion, but despite previous suggestions, no changes have been made. The leasing office seems to have limited influence over the third-party tow company that oversees the parking garage, which has been a source of frustration and even damage to the garage infrastructure. In summary, the Meridian is a solid choice with its perks but also areas ripe for improvement. For prospective residents, being aware of the gym and parking situation in advance can help manage expectations. Despite these drawbacks, the positives of living here, like the quiet atmosphere and convenient location, make it a worthwhile option.

This apartment complex caused me many many issues!! I lived here for 2 years and it never really got better.First day I moved in I was towed out of the garage!!! because I was over the line. The leasing office failed to mention if I parked over the line I would be towed. Paid around $200 to get my car out. Also that morning at 8am I woke up to demolition noises happening above me. Apparently they were redoing the apartment on the floor above us to the right. I did not know that since we didn't start getting apartment emails until we moved in. I was exhausted from moving, having my car towed, and having to listen to those sounds all week long... the demolition sounds still were happening until I moved out because they were redoing the gym and then next the lobby. There are always some sort of noises echoing up through the building from somewhere else.More about the garage. There were many times when I would come back late at night and there would be absolutely no parking. I had to park on the street many times and wake up early in the morning at 8am to move my car. It really depended on how many spots they over leased to everyone since it's only 3 floors. The spots are sooo tight that I even scrapped the side of my car on a column! It was awful. Another time when I was coming out of the garage, my tire hit the side of the ramp and my tire popped! I didn't know until I was on the highway and smoke was coming out of it. It was so close to flying off but thank goodness. It was $1,000 in damages just to replace the tires and even more if you include the scrape!!Second, for lease renewal, they put that our 2 bedroom renewal was $4,100.... crazy! Our previous lease was $3,300/3,400. With the amount of construction sounds I heard that never ended. I felt like it wasn't worth it. No one leased our apartment until after we moved out. I checked the website and saw it had dropped to $3,050. I was mind boggled since our lease renewal was around $4,000!Third, the sunroom would either be freezing or so hot! The windows overall were very poor insulation. In the winter even in my room it would be cold! Anyone looking to lease the sunroom as a room, I wouldn't do it. I loved using the sunroom and tried to put 2 different heaters in there to use it in the winter but didn't work and one of my heaters is very powerful and had a fan. The temperature would get down to 59 degrees in there sometimes. Even with the apartments heat on, sooo cold. In the summer, you also really sweat in there. If you keep the doors shut though, it does help with keeping your inside apartment warm/cold.Fourth, so much dusttttt. I haven't seen a place so dusty. I had maintenance come to replace the air vent filter and fix my bathroom fan dust filter but my bathroom still would get sooo dusty in 1-2 days. It was crazy. I hadn't seen a place get so dusty so fast. I used an air purifier in my room cause I wasn't sure if it was good to be breathing that in. Please clean the air ducts to the whole building!!! I'm sure that's why it was so dusty. For the washer and dryer. My clothes wouldn't get fully washed. The dryer also didn't dry our clothes very fast which leads me to believe the vent that runs through the building for moving the air hasn't been cleaned out....Fifth, you cannot have heat or air at the same time. The maintenance has to come change it in between seasons to either heat or cool air and it would be miserable. Either way too hot or too cold depending. I hated that nest thermostat. I would login and then couple weeks later it would log me out. Happened all the time.Shout out to the maintenance team though!! They always do a great job and are awesome! They respond to your requests in a day.** Elevators always smelled like dog sweat and also dog pee... They were gross and outdated with carpet. Honestly was getting tired of always smelling the gross elevatorsOnly good things were that the bedrooms were big, apartment interior was newly renovated, and the noise levels were good. Didn't he

My husband and I have lived here for a little over a year and we absolutely love it. I'm not a big reviewer, but I was surprised by some of the negative reviews and wanted to write back from the perspective of someone who moved in pre-construction and who just renewed for another 15 months:- The apartments are fabulous, full stop. Spacious, beautiful, comparable to other apartments pricewise in the area (although with a much better location), and with an A+ maintenance team who has never taken more than 24 hours to respond to any of my issues (even the ones I ranked "low priority").- The location is actually unbeatable. Right in between the metro and the mall, with UPS across the street and food 5 min in every direction. I can walk to every doctor/dentist/specialist I have, I can walk to the grocery stores, I can walk to bars and restaurants, I can walk to parks. Wild.- The people are great. Leasing has always been super responsive (shoutout to Will!) and the front desk folks are lovely. Maintenance <3<3<3 (as discussed). Also, I've never had an issue with any other residents, and the apartment throws food/drink socials every few months through which we've met wonderful friends, including folks with whom we do regular game nights.- The construction comments make me lol. Yes there was construction in the gym for three months over the summer, and to compensate Meridian negotiated reduced gym rates at multiple nearby gyms for us (including the gym literally across the street). The in-apartment gym is so big and lovely now, with two whole rooms, and it's two seconds away! My goodness, folks. Yes there is ongoing construction in the lobby, as with literally every other apartment in this area. But I've always found Meridian super communicative about every upcoming project, including projects anticipated to make a lot of noise, and generally really responsive to our issues. As someone who does partial WFH I rarely experience noise issues, and on the one occasion I've had to leave my apartment I just went to the 21st floor, which is beautiful and has free internet.-There are issues of course (the beams in the parking garage are utter nonsense, although I’ve never not found a place to park). But I’ve never been so moved to write a response as I have reading some of these silly comments. TL;DR, keep up the good work Meridian!

I would give a zero star if I could this apartments management is absolutely ridiculous, wouldn't work towards helping us in the application at all. So rude and increased rent on us multiple times for no reason. After finishing the application and turning in all required paperwork there was no manger in office to sign off on it for days and in that span the rent increased by 5k. Horrible Horrible place.

We lived here for a year and planned to stay for longer! We made many friends with the community and through the social events hosted by the property management. I want to give a big shout-out to Will who has been awesome and communicative!Major renovations this year did create noise and a mess, but the property management has been proactive in addressing those issues. And now, the building has such amazing amenities like a pet spa and updated gym. There are also promos and discounts that come with your residency here via the Cobu app.Overall, Meridian has been fantastic to live at. It's a pet-friendly property with a sociable community and kind management. If you need a place to live in Ballston, go for Meridian!

My wife and I have really enjoyed living here. The management is quick to respond and respectful of the current residents. As others have noted, it is going through construction but it will be done soon and the finished product looks like it’ll be fantastic.Shout out to one of the Meridian managers named Will, he went out of his way to explain the construction process and how to make the best of it, and we really appreciated it since we work from home quite a bit. They also throw parties for the residents every two months or so in the clubhouse upstairs where they provide food and adult beverages, they’re glorious and we’ve made some new friends at them. I’d recommend checking this place out if you want a metro accessible arlington apartment.

I moved into The Meridian over the summer when I relocated for work. I'm still happy with my decision to date! The team at The Meridian was very helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process including when I moved in. Also, even though there is construction on the first floor, the staff has tried to make things as convenient as possible for residents. For example, they send regular updates and are always willing to help/ answer questions. I’m happy to call this place home and would recommend it to others.

Our stay here was great! Convenient location, good amenities, and friendly staff! They recently added a pet wash station and upgraded their gym.Shout-out to Will. The construction is noisy and an adjustment for us but Will and the staff have been super helpful with addressing our concerns. They also host resident parties and catered events! We'll miss this place and the people.

I'm updating my review. I previously rated the building 5 stars. Right now, it's a 3, so I'm meeting in the middle with 4 stars overall. I've lived here for 2 years but won't be renewing my lease in the spring.Pros:- The residents, front desk staff, and leasing office folks are super friendly. They put on nice resident events fairly regularly and have lots of opportunities to get free food.- There is always parking available. I have come home late many times and have never had to park on the street. You might have to park on P3, but there are always multiple spaces. I wouldn't listen to any complaints about that.- The location is perfect! It is across the street from the Ballston metro and bus bays. There are many delicious dining options from fast casual to a nice night out. Mike's Cafe is right downstairs. There is even a shared door to it so we didn't have to go outside to get in. Many of my doctors are also right across the street at the mall. Multiple gyms are nearby as well. It is so walkable. And anythign further you can take a scooter, the bus or the metro.- The renovated apartments are beautiful. Nice hot water in the shower. The most spacious studio you'll get in this area. There is plenty of storage. The washer/dryer work well. Maintenance is very fast. Even when I put low priority, they usually come the same day.- The fitness center is okay. I can get most of what I need done, but some of my past buildings have had more advanced equipment (smith machine, ez bar, etc.)Cons (from most to least important):- The sun rooms are poorly insulated. In the summer it's extremely hot and in the winter it's very cold. I thought it'd be a great hack to use the sunroom as my bedroom in my studio apartment, but it is tough. Because of this, I got an electric bill this summer that was $212!!! For a studio apartment! It was shocking. My Nest Thermostat even warned me that my A/C might not be working because the temperature was rising while it was running this summer. The best way to work around this is to keep the sunroom doors closed at all times during the day but even that doesn't fully combat the insulation issue.- Adding on, the sun room insulation also affects the room humidity greatly. Last winter my apartment was reading at 19%. I had to buy a huge humidifier just to get it up to 35%. The air is so dry and it makes your hair and skin dry as well. My guests can feel it and it is a major downside, especially when you are sick.- Construction never ends. Sometimes it's the renovation of units since they upgrading the apartments one at a time as people move out. One time, it was so loud that I called the front desk, and it turned out to be a unit 5 floors below me. I work remotely, so it was very disruptive. The lobby construction has also been a long struggle. It really does look like an active construction site. There were even a few nails on the floor in the back hallway at one point. Thankfully, the back hallway renovation is complete now, and the package room is self-service now as well. The fitness center is virtually the same with some new decorations. There are a few new bikes in the yoga room. No one really uses the new room, which I don't mind. The lobby is supposed to be done in February, but I wouldn't bet on that. It's very expensive considering these conditions but if you move in after everything is done.- The columns in the parking garage are menaces haha many cars have yellow streaks because of them. Some spaces are huge, some are a bit narrow. Not a big deal since these pillars hold up the building. You get used to it. I back into all spaces now since it's easier, and I always go for the bigger spaces.- There are a LOT of dogs. Super cute but there are stains in the elevator and hallways clearly from pups who didn't make it outside. It can smell periodically, but the cleaning crew takes care of it quickly.Overall, I have many positive memories, but it won't be great here again until the renovations are done.

The worst place ever that took and held your documents for so many days and end of the moment they said that your application was not approved. Asking why they could not explain well. The reason was unreasonable.Don’t apply for this apartment. It is a waste of your money and your time.

I’m not typically someone that leaves reviews, let alone negative ones, but upon receiving my lease renewal offer I feel as though I must share my experience living here. My roommate and I signed a lease for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment in December 2022 for 13 months. We were told that renovations were mostly complete, with individual apartments being fully renovated and the gym and lobby being all that is left to be updated. My roommate and I specifically asked the leasing agent about the extent to which this construction would be as we were both leaving apartments undergoing construction that was very disruptive to our living spaces and were told that these renovations would be quick and fairly minor. As you can see other reviews, that is absolutely not the case. The gym was renovated for more than 3 months, with no other options provided to us besides those that we had to pay for additionally at local gyms near by. We were not given much notice about this and then construction took longer than expected to complete on the gym. Then the lobby renovation at started shortly after in August, with no end time ever stated. It is now November, we are in a fully active construction site during the day. Additionally, there are still renovations going on in individual apartments that makes it very loud during the day time. This is especially inconvenient as I work night shifts and sleep during the day. This wouldn’t be such a large problem if they weren’t increasing our rent by $500-$800 A MONTH depending on the length of the lease we decide to sign to renew. I sent an email asking to negotiate rent and was met with an extremely rude response from the assistant property manager, William, basically telling me to deal with it or get out as these apartments will be “modern” when construction is finally finished in February (which he told me in his rude response). This would be when we move out, after having lived in an active construction zone for 7 months of our lease here. He did offer $59 a month off of this very highly increased rate as a “courtesy”, but only if we sign a new lease for 18 months. He’s giving us a whopping 8 days to decide to sign after taking over a week to respond to my initial negotiation request. We won’t be renewing, and I hope this helps some people decide that living here probably won’t be worth the astronomical price they would like you to pay to not even be guaranteed a parking spot as the lots do fill up despite paying $300 a month for parking here. It’s nice, but not nice enough for the price they want. There are other apartments near by with similar amenities which will probably provide a better overall living experience for around the same price or even less.
