Just had a great experience and wanted to share my appreciation for Clinton and the salon. I'm not a regular at any salon as I'm low maintenance and generally use madison reed at home to color greys. But I went too dark a couple weeks ago and really wanted some highlights to break up the monotone. Clinton delivered with some beautiful balayage that will grow out well and not require my attention for a few months, heeding my desire to be low maintenance. Plus, we had great conversations, and I'm not usually a talker at salons. Just a relaxed, unpretentious vibe in there. Clinton and Bibi were very busy because their assistants were out, but they still took care of each other and juggled the chairs well. I could hear them consulting on each other's clients' color formulas, and I loved that they were double checking each others work, no egos, and delivering the best for their customers. I will be back, and that's high praise for me.

Thank you to each and everyone of the artist at Magnum Opus. It was my first time there and I felt as if I had been going there for years!
This is the only salon that has ever been able to cut my curly hair, my coloring is bomb, and recommendations for aftercare were tailored to my curly girl struggles.
I will also mention it is not just a salon it is also an art space, vibes are immaculate.

This was my best salon experience. I walked in a mess. My hair was previously relaxed via Magic Sleek so the bottom half is permanently straight and all of the new growth is curly. I was also self conscious about my high forehead so I wanted bangs.
Clinton is a master stylist. I never expected such a clean and beautiful result. The salon itself is gorgeous, the music is great, and everyone seems happy. I have nothing to complain about and I’m a natural born hater. I hope Clinton lives forever. No one has ever done my hair so easily. I usually end up sobbing in hair appointments because I have a sensitive scalp.

This place is awesome. My mom needed a pick-me-up hair styling one day, and they squeezed her in and made her feel so good and happy! She loved her hairstylist, but I can't remember her name. She had recently moved here from California, I think? Anyway, very positive vibe and they did a great job on my mom's tricky hair!

I had a very bad experience here. I called and specifically requested an appointment with Clinton, he said sure come in tomorrow at 11 am. I show up and the salon is still closed, after 20 minutes bibi lets me in and tells me she will actually be doing my color not Clinton. My request was simple, I wanted to refresh my existing grown out blonde highlights while making sure there is no brassiness, I showed Bibi a picture and she said yes and confirmed she'd do that for me. After spending more than 4 hours there I ended up with DARKER hair then when I came in and it was BRASSY. She then told me that I would need a couple more touch ups to reach the level of blonde in the picture I showed her, which is information she should've shared with me before! I now booked another appointment with another salon to fix the mess she made. The only positive was that she agreed to bring down the cost because I think she could clearly see that the result was not what I was promised. This was my first and last time visiting the salon.

I can't say enough good things about this place. I have a rough relationship with my hair due to some medical concerns and salon appointments are usually high anxiety for me and not at all enjoyable. I first came to Magnum Opus when another salon down the street truly messed up my color: I'm blond and walked out a (purple-brown?) brunette against my wishes. That salon recognized the mistake and offered to fix it, but I didn't trust them to do so. I was really worried about how to get my thin, fine, prone-to-breakage hair back to blond, but came to Magnum Opus on a recommendation from a colleague. From the first moment I stepped into the building the whole team went out of their way to be so kind and gracious to me. They are great listeners and the customer service is next level -- flexible with appointment bookings, are clear about limitations and expectations (i.e. - shouldn't try to go from dark brown to bright blond in one appointment), triple check to ensure you're happy with the result, and the whole team will get involved to listen and make sure they understand what you need. I have tried a lot of salons around the DMV, from the fanciest and most austere to the chain/franchise spots, and Magnum Opus is the only place I've found where I truly don't feel anxious about getting my hair done.

The service was absolutely fabulous! Clinton was super kind warm and welcoming! I met with Liz and she is such a vibe! Listened and talked me through my hair and what I wanted. To ask for a certain cut and to be heard is just amazing. She will take you on an epic hair journey you did not know you needed. Will be back for sure! Thank you Liz and Clinton!!

Clinton greeted me warmly and gave me exactly what I wanted. I left with a beautiful color. I also wanted more layers and lots of bouncy movement. He nailed it. Love his art and his Vibe that adorns the place. Found my spot

Was fit in last minute for an impromptu appt. which I appreciated very much! It was pretty pricey compared to what I’m used to. Had balayage done and a haircut. IMO the haircut was not worth $95! My bangs hang in a big chunk and should have been point-cut. Even though I was disappointed with my haircut, it was a very welcoming and friendly salon. Can’t say that I will go back…at least for a haircut, anyway.

I drove an hour and a half for a 2pm appointment. Clint charge $95 for a cut but couldn't be bothered to be on time. He took walk-ins past time for my appointment. Now I know why he had a last minute opening. He sux at customer service
