Taxes are one of my least favorite things, but H&R BLOCK's Candus Allen, in the Crystal City branch, was kind, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and super-efficient! She had my situation sized up within about 15 minutes and my state and federal returns were completed, filed, and accepted within three days --- and that included a weekend! I felt like I had a new friend and I no longer dread my taxes, which is kind of a big deal! I will definitely see her again in 2025!

No Longer Relevant. We arrived at our appt time and had to wait 20 mins. It is tax season, I was not surprised. We had to ask twice for the fee schedule to be discussed fully. By this I mean, I had to tell the very young person helping us that I would not proceed until I had an idea what the fee would be. At that point we were given an approximation. Again, not surprised, they would need to look at all the paperwork to have an exact estimate. Then, over the then 75 minutes it took for the data entry to be completed, we had to explain to her two different issues that she missed, the bigger being that the breadwinner in the family tele-commutes to a state that has reciprocity with the state in which we live. She stated she did not know this about the two states. Then, at the end, she advised us that she would not be able to finish our taxes because of a 'glitch' [her word, not mine] in the company software that is caused by the telecommuting issue and that her manager would need to go in to our file and manually adjust the return "when he has time". Seems H&R Block, after 4 years of telecommuting Americans, does not have functioning software to address this need. After watching this very young person do a job that is, simply, a data entry position, we decided that we would pay the consultation fee and do our taxes ourselves since the sole reason we were seeking professional (?) help was because of the reciprocity issue. I am now certain that with the software available to us all, we no longer need H&R Block. Don't use their software [their staff states it has glitches in it], but, use a software to do your taxes.

Lisa Williamson was my agent and extremely unhappy with the tax services there. Did not fully file my taxes properly asking me to do certain things myself, wasted time and money, and yet as of this moment still wasting time traveling to other HR block locations that are closed and no one there to fix my stuff. Very extremely disappointed as i have been with HR block for about 10 years and never had an issue like this!

Nathaniel Lee is the best tax professional we have ever used. His past experience with the IRS makes him extremely knowledgeable and he also understands the specific needs of it tac situation. We have used Nathaniel for 4 years now and will continue to do so.

Poor customer service, website was poorly done, spent multiple days on hold to change tax professional. New tax professional kept forgetting what tax docs were submitted and provided incorrect advice that another professional had to correct.
