Allstate is not a serious company. Avoid. When you need them, expect to lose hours of your days and incur tons of stress.Horrible experience with an Allstate auto claim in 22209 zip code. Truly painful. I was hit; no fault on my part.- No rental vehicle provided until shop begins work (which I can't control)- They expect customers to front cash for rentals not arrange pickup- Customer service claims they can't finalize processing in under 5 business days, so I have to waste my time escalating through phone trees till I get to someone serious- They nickel and dime autobody shop to the point where autobody shop says they're not confident they can do a professional job, so I have to get involved talking to claims adjustor- In short, they waste my time and then have a claims adjustor repeatedly call me while I'm in meetings to read legalese at me about how the Commonwealth of Virginia does not require them to compensate impacted automobile owners for lost wages unless the vehicle is used to transport equipment

Working with Harvey Ostrow at All-State was such a positive experience. He made me feel very comfortable with the whole experience of filing a claim. Not that I had to do anything. He did it all; by the end of the day I had a claim filed, a rental car set up and a time to drop my car off for repairs. I got my car repaired and it looks like new. Thank you, Harry. I recommend you highly!

Great customer service, and clearly keeps the customer's needs in mind. Signing up for Allstate was easy and fast on their web site, and as part of the welcome I received an email from Harvey. All as expected. But when I wanted to move my renter's insurance to a different address, I thought I'd call him, so I set up an appointment. Promptly got the call at just the right time. We discussed my needs, and by the end of the short call Harvey had moved my insurance, reminded me about documentation I had overlooked (thank goodness!), and helped me streamline my existing auto insurance. Harvey was great at making suggestions without pushing any products: I felt he was helping ME find what I needed, not trying to squeeze me for more money. A refreshing change from the usual!

Harvey Ostrow, and his team (I also work with Gary Jensen) are wonderful. Very responsive, very patient, and very knowledgeable. They make extra efforts to get lower rates. They are also dedicated and give the extra step to help their clients. I recently had an important insurance related matter, issues related to insurance after moving from a certain state, but unable to do DMV update related tasks due to COVID-19 causing the local DMVs to be closed. I received the letter on Saturday, and e-mailed the team asking them to call the following Monday. That Monday, at 8:15am, I received the call from them. After talking with them, and talking to the DMV of my previous state, the DMV needed information from the team. The team worked with me and the DMV to sort the issue out. It was resolved that same day. I have never had an insurance agent genuinely care to help their clients. 5/5!

I have had my homeowner's policy through this office for 20 years, the first 5 were for my condo and the last 15 for my current home. I've paid at least 20k in premiums in that time. I have never submitted a claim. I was told via email on March 10th that my house had been secretly inspected and found to be needing some repairs and if they were not done within 5 weeks (mid-April for re-inspection to renew by the end of April) my policy would be cancelled. Most of these items were extremely minor (leaves in one gutter, a photo of a rose bush in February labeled "vines/vegetation") and one was larger - repainting the peeling paint on the upper level soffits. Last year the area received 4x as much rain as normal, which sped up a lot of wear on many area homes. My fiance and I already had a fairly large, important repair slated that we'd paid a deposit for, and we could not accomplish the soffit painting in time - as working people we just don't have the financial flexibility to make things like that happen in a very short amount of time. We need to plan them at least a little. Initially Mr. Ostrow had said that the policy could be rewritten but he later claimed he never said that. I found this a bit unusual, it seems like it would be easy to include a clause excluding claims related to the soffits until they were able to be painted. I wanted to write a detailed review to just let other working people know that if you are looking for an agency that will be flexible, provide notifications in a manner that respects your time and the value in your being a loyal customer for decades, this is not the agency you should be looking at. Liberty Mutual was more than happy to have my business as a stable homeowner with a long history of being claims-free.

I have worked with Gary previously and was extremely happy with the service he provided along with his colleagues. I went in today to bundle my car with ny home and Gary showed no desire to help me. I felt my business was not respected. He didn't bother to print and show me the price/the discount on my home he just read it off the screen and I find that very offensive. I am very dissatisfied with the service I recived today and will not be going there again.
