The new store is great and has a much better selection than the old store. The hot bar in particular is much improved.
The negative is that staff are openly rude. I can excuse not saying hello or thank you a few times. I get it's not Trader Joe's. But I've heard staff on two or three occasions openly making fun of customers. Also, I had one check out guy roll his eyes at me when I asked if his lane was open (he was standing off to the side like he didn't want to be noticed). To the point my kid asked what was wrong. Just really poorly managed on that level.

I recently visited the fish counter and had an experience that I’d like to share. The employee working at the fish display appeared to be hardworking and seemed to perform her tasks diligently. However, her customer service skills left much to be desired.
When I approached to purchase fish, she struggled to engage with customers effectively. While she may be doing her job as required, her ability to communicate and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner needs improvement.
I had a larger salmon on the counter and asked for an additional pound with no tail. She complied by cutting my piece, but then she threw the rest of the fish in the trash, which felt very unprofessional. It was as if she treated the fish as if it were her personal property to dispose of as she wished.

While the new grocery store is nice when it comes to the breakfast hot bar it's severely lacking. When they first opened it was excellent now it's very lack luster as if the cooks do not care. The bacon is burnt or very salty nine times out of ten, The grits are forever swimming in oil, they hardy have hash browns, the powdered eggs are gross, the sausage is either a hit or miss. The breakfast went from being great to barely edible.

The staff are PHENOMENAL!!! Oh, and their Starbucks Barista Ana is amazing as well. She's a true sweetheart. Deon from the Pizza shop is ALWAYS positive and upbeat. He also knows the type of Pizza I love. He remembers me, and I don’t feel like a number or "just another customer." The quality of the store makes it manageable to shop there, especially for snacks and other items needed during lunch breaks. I won't forget to mention the self-checkout staff who are always friendly as well. Even the vibe is different from other locations. WOW! Amazing!

The ballston location is a scam. They know what their issues are, yet they continue to let them slide so that the customer pays more money in the end. Within the last 12 months, the amount of times I have done a Bogo deal on Coke products, and then been rung up the full price is ridiculous. It is a buy two get two, at $10. I overpay $20 for Coca-Cola every time I go in. Then I have to go talk to someone at guest services. Yes I pay attention when the cashier is ringing up the items, but some of them will refuse to scan your discount rewards card until the end, and some leave the computer screen off that shows the items being rung up. This store is a terrible scam, you all owe me money, I’m tired of getting left on hold by guest services. I can see why you open up a new location, all the money you got from ripping off your customers

The upstairs bar is awesome! 3 dollar beers.... and they are great beers. All local brews. Non junk. Loren was awesome. Super knowledgeable able beer, sports, etc. Too bad he is a Pittsburgh fan. But this should be the happy hour everyone in Arlington goes to. Hands down.

Why why why do they need to close an hour early two days in a row to do floor maintenance. This is the third Harris teeter I have been to that closed early without any notice sent out. If they cared about us they would change their hours on Google for the affected days.

The worst customer service. You just don't exist for them. Across the street was bad but not this bad

Used to love shopping at their old location, but they built a new store and jacked the prices up almost 150%. Armed guards patrol the whole store. Incredibly unpleasant shopping experience. Don't enjoy feeling like im in a prison while I'm trying to buy an avocado. Not worth it, go to literally any other grocery store.

The old location next door was my favorite grocery store, but this new one has a guard with a gun near the door. It makes me feel very unsafe and makes me not want to shop there. Are they going to shoot shoplifters? Will bystanders get in the way?
