Giving 3 stars because I love this store, except for this one particular curbside pick-up associate!
11/9/24
I schedule curbside pick every weekend. The first 2 times, I gave my curbside associate the benefit of the doubt, but today I’ve had enough! She’s always so rude!!
I selected “On my way” around 6pm for my 6:30 pickup. The associate calls me at 6:25pm to ask “Where are you? I’ve been waiting here in the garage for 30 mins”.
HOW CAN YOU JUST ASSUME THAT I LIVE RIGHT DOWN THE STREET or THAT I’M LEAVING HOME COMING STRAIGHT TO H.T.??? I was out running errands and selected “on the way”. Then when I arrive, I was going to select “I’m here” like I always do at every store lol it’s quite simple.
When I get there she’s already waiting in the garage (before I selected “I’m here”) with an attitude.
I DO NOT EVER WANT TO GET ANOTHER CALL ASKING ME WHERE I’M AT or I will not be coming here anymore! So unprofessional, I know how to follow check-in directions.
I really wish the young guy with the ponytail was still helping me, I don’t think he works there anymore, but he was awesome!

I want to love this Harris Teeter, but every time I go I leave disappointed and frustrated. They rarely have paper bags in stock and almost never have actual check out lanes open, meaning you have to squeeze your full cart into the tiny six machine self checkout that is extremely finicky with how you scan things.

I go to this Harris Teeter often, with sometimes fine experiences. But today when I went, I had a frustrating one. I recently had shoulder surgery on my dominant side - makes virtually all everyday tasks harder. After collecting a basket of groceries I went to the front to be checked out. There were 4 staff people at the front - one counting money, one manning a check out lane but who told me “my lane is now closed”, and two staff people monitoring the self check out area. So I waited a few minutes, and ultimately learned my only option was self check out. So I waited for a self checkout lane, even asking if anyone was going to staff a check out lane since I’m recovering from surgery, and got nowhere. I proceeded to slowly scan and bag all my items with just one working limb, as the two staff people watched me. One even came over and made a joke about how the pineapple was so expensive! But no assistance with bagging.
This store could be more accommodating to people without full mobility. It’s really not a lot to ask that at least one check out lane be staffed at any one time for people who are unable to do it comfortably themselves.

The store is beautiful and I have lived around here and patronized it many times. Today though I encountered a check out person With the name tag that said Christine. Normally I do self check out.But I thought I would try the normal check out. At the end of checking My order and exchanging the normal pleasantries. She abruptly stopped checking me out and asked me if I wanted her to finish the transaction.Or if I wanted someone else to finish the transaction. I told her I didn't understand what she was asking me. She then repeated the question saying that she would make the decision herself. And then just walk the way to customer service. A customer service manager came and finished the order. I asked him what was going on and he seemed just as confused as I did. I figure, maybe she has some sort of emotional disturbance episode. So I just took my things and left but felt compelled to relate my story on google. Everyone else that I have encountered at this place in the last two years has been marvelous. But this woman Christine has indeed left a black mark on my experience.

When all managers of this particular store understand that from 4 to 6 pm is peak time, one checkout and nobody at the self-scan do not help customers! Why do people wander around looking for associates to help them on self-scan? If there were a button like at the airport that asks if customers were satisfied with their experience, this store would get 1 star all the time! PS: to manager - don’t bother to reply me, just fix this issue in your store!
