My condo association was using them as a payment portal for our condo fees. The service was totally cumbersome and non user friendly. We finally switched to a new provider, and when I contacted First Citizens Bank to cancel my account, I was told that they didn’t allow people to close their accounts for “security purposes”…I can understand companies needing to keep some information in their records for legal purposes, but for them to tell me I wasn’t allowed to ever close my account was pretty frustrating.

Worst bank i’ve ever dealt with. Customer service line that transfers you constantly. Cant get to the right person. They charged me fees for no reason. Asked me to pay for paper statements when their online statements were not existent.

I have an appointment with a banker, Tayonna Wright-Bosley, at 4pm Friday (1/8) at the Arlington branch. However, when I arrive at the branch, no one was there, and there is a sign saying the branch is temporary closed. No one informed me the branch is going to be closed. This is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. I will NEVER bank with First Citizen ever.

I think this branch needs to go back to school to learn how to treat people their people skills have to be worked on better to treat their customers the way they need to be treated instead of having to be disrespectful and rude. I recommend not to come to this branch

Terrible customer service. Despite being a long term loyal customer, I was informed in a form letter of a change in status. Would look for other options. There are many options.

Things didn't go as well, their quality and service has changed. Too many new faces and new names, a lot of turnover.

I changed my review from 5 stars to 2. Honestly, even Wells Fargo has fewer fees. These guys push their human contact, fine, but every single thing you do costs you a heavy fee. And then you find fees on top of the fees you paid when you were trying to resolve what all those fees were from. Getting the theme here? The people are nice but this experience reminds me of everything I hate about banks. They expect you to visit the branch for even small tasks, and they will try to sell you things when you visit. , If you can't visit, you are allowed to send them a fax. Really, guys, a fax? It's been fifteen years since I had a working fax machine and even longer since I've used one. I really wanted to be friends with but you're better off without me. Advice to first citizens: a lot of your customers don't want to be called, or sold credit cards, or surprised by high fees for normal routine banking. We want to bank online, we never want you to make us come into your branch, and we will stay loyal if you learn to stop getting in your own way with the fees, the sales tactics, and the old school hurdles you set up that prevent us from banking with you. Good luck.
