Wish zero stars was an option. They tried to charge us $350 to simply hem a pair of pants 2 inches. Chastised us for walking in without an appointment (done it before, won't do it again). Great place to go for unsolicited style criticism!

I just tried to have a bridesmaids dress altered to be nursing-friendly so that I could stand up in my brother’s wedding and nurse my infant. The owner said “no I don’t do that, I’m a bridal service.” The attached picture is all I was asking for (picture is not her work) and does not seem that complicated. Based on other reviews, you would think that she works on more than wedding dresses…. Feeling pretty upset.

Dropped off my suit to get it taken in and it was done in not even 24 hours! 10/10 will recommend and will use for future tailoring needs.

I’m still in awe of how quickly my pants were altered. The seamstress is exceptional and committed to delivering quality service. This is the only place I trust to alter my garments in the D.C., Maryland, Virginia area. 10/10 - highly recommend!

Very nice and knowledgeable! She was able to un-hem my tuxedo pants in 24hrs after the tuxedo company sent me the wrong sizes 3x in a row. My new go-to spot for all alterations.

Needed a rush order to alter a suit jacket before a wedding out of town. It was a tad more expensive than I was expecting, but the jacket fits perfectly and it was done very quickly.

Mae did a wonderful job and her service is FAST! I needed a bridesmaid dress hemmed before the holidays, and she was able to finish my dress the SAME day. She is extremely helpful and friendly! I cannot recommend her enough.

New in town and was badly in need of alterations for my dress due to weight loss in 3 days. Mae took several inches off my dress and had my dress fitting like it was made for me. If I could give 0 stars I would. Went here with my girlfriend to get alterations for a dress. Woman who owns the place, who thinks she’s on top of the world might I add with her attitude, didn’t even try to fix it and just suggested we leave. Not really sure how you’re supposed to retain clientele when you get overwhelmed and can’t complete your JOB when you approach any sort of inconvenience. Additionally, first time we came in a few months prior, she wouldn’t give an estimate on alterations and ended up saying it would take 2 weeks (it took 2 days) and then proceeded to charge us for her made up emergency fee pay because it was done quickly? Emergency fee would indicate you need it done in 1-2 days (Common sense). !! IF !! you do it in 1-2 days because you don’t have enough clients to keep you busy, you can’t charge extra to keep your business alive (: Plenty of places are hiring to put additional money in your pocket.Fairly certain a third grader has more human decency and social skills.Service: Bridesmaid dress alterations

Fashion Center Alterations was my first-ever alterations experience and it did not disappoint. I came in with a bridesmaid dress that was several sizes too large and definitely worried it was going to not fit, or would look frumpy. Mae did a great job making it fit and be flattering. It was ready when she said it would be. I am having my own wedding next and feel confident with Mae's talent that she'd do an excellent job on my gown.Edit: I did come back a few months ago and got my wedding gown done by her. Absolutely amazing. I was traveling and couldn’t find a place that would do alterations in the same day. Once I got to DC, I had called and spoke to Mae’s daughter (amazing as well). She completely assured me that it can be done today. When I got there, I met Mae and she was so personable and she genuinely loves her career and loves to help others. The service was done in a matter of a few hours and the product was outstanding. Thank you so much Mae for your help; it is greatly appreciated.
