Rude and unfriendly counter associate. Said I had checked the box where they fill the tank. I never did. If I hadn’t looked closely I would have paid about $50 more than my pre-paid price. He took his sweet time. Car was ok. Kind of dirty. High mileage. I’ll skip them in the future.

Please share your experience with Dollar Car Rental. First, when you arrive at the airport, you can take a shuttle bus to the rental car center, making it easy and convenient to access! Reception is quick and the process goes smoothly. The great thing about this is that we have a rich lineup of cars, making it easy to choose the one that best suits your purpose. However, you may have to wait a little during busy times, so it might be a good idea to leave plenty of time. The prices are relatively reasonable, and you can drive around Washington DC at an affordable price.

I had a terrible experience with Dollar Car Rental at DCA. First, it took over an hour for the staff to process my rental and hand me the keys. When I finally went to the parking lot to pick up the car, I found someone else had already taken it because Dollar had mistakenly registered the vehicle to two different people. They ended up giving me a smaller car, which I didn’t want.
The final issue occurred when I returned the car. I was charged $11.99 per gallon for fuel, even though the price that day was only $2.99. If this is their policy, they should have clearly explained it upfront. No one informed me how the fuel charges would be calculated. I assumed it would be at most double the market price, but this charge was excessive.
To make matters worse, the staff member was extremely rude when I questioned the charge. He simply stated, “This is our rule, we’re not responsible. You can take it to court,” and walked away in the middle of our conversation. His behavior was completely disrespectful.
Overall, renting a car from Dollar was a frustrating experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I was really worried about my rental after seeing all the bad reviews but to my surprise everything was super easy. I checked in using the app and text message I received on my cell phone and walked straight to my car. car was clean and full tank. the process took me like 5mins.

The Lord who made us sign the documents and deliver the car to Washington Dulles airport on September 10, 2024 at 7:08 PM advised us to also take the Z-Plass telepass to pay the tolls at a cost of 314, $85. We didn't want to take it because our vacation from Washington to Chicago and then taking Route 66 to Los Angeles and delivering the car to San Francisco didn't involve many toll roads. Instead he told us that now all the roads are tolled, even Route66, so we accepted. The problem, however, was that they didn't put the device in the car to be able to pass the toll sections between Washington and Chicago, so in addition to having paid $314.85 we had to pay tolls because the barrier only with the license plate cannot be accessed. opened. We went on September 12, 2024 to a Dollar center at Chicago airport to collect the Z Plass device for tolls but from Chicago to Los Angeles and then San Francisco we did not find any toll roads, and even Route66 did not it was paid. When we arrived at the airport in San Francisco when we handed the car over to the Hertz employee we explained everything and he reassured us by saying that in addition to the $200 deposit they would also give us back the money from the Z-Plass device for the tolls we paid but not delivered on 10 September 2024, but this was not the case. They also took the $314.85 from my credit card for the undelivered Z-Plass toll device. I often rent cars all over the world and I have never encountered such a dishonest person when delivering a car. No more Dollars

I loved the service I received from Munaji Dewa! He was so kind and patient. He helped people from other car rental company lines just to help relieve some of the lines that were so long! We need more people like him in the world. I highly recommend going to Munaji if you are renting a car out of the Reagan National Airport!

I rented the car for 32 hours!! I reserved for 132 and they charged me 232, because they charge 55 for service charges and more. They are not honest, it is a scam.

I had a really good counter experience with Calvin at the DCA pickup for Dollar/Thrifty counter. He was friendly, courteous and informative about my options since I had an electric car and a previous bad experience. He was very helpful in offering the charge up for drop off since I had previous issues and it was much more convenient and worth it on the electric rental - not as easy to fill er up when you have to catch a flight on an electric rental. I was in and out of the counter in no time and the line was not long when I arrived.

reserved a car. showed up to receive said car and they had none. a couple that showed up around the time I had, mentioned they had their car reserved for 3 months and they didn’t have a car for them either. Probably one of the most unreliable car rental agencies known to man.

Had a reservation for 12 pm, it’s been over an hour and I’m still waiting for them to give me a car. This is the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Never book from this place

Shady place that added an expensive option to my rental and the screen doesn't show the total amount so that you can verify before signing. Crowded with just 1 person at the counter and a long line at the exit.
