Switched to CAC North from another vet in Fairfax and I wish we had started here from the start! I have two Italian greyhounds and have done an international health certificate here, and also been in for: routine vaccinations, anxiety medication management, parasite deworming, and GI issues. Luxor and Pharoah love to see Caitlin (tech) and DVM McCrory, but when we needed to get in asap for my newly adopted iggy who wasn’t holding down food, Julia (tech) and DVM Gottlieb were incredible! When I was struggling to get my adopted iggy’s previous vet records, the staff were able to get them on file for me. Prescriptions here are so easy to fill in office or on Chewy, and their online booking system is awesome. Italian greyhounds are weird, anxious little guys and the staff is always willing to bend over backwards to make them comfy. We are going to start seeing their vet behaviorist for some help with our reactive new little guy, and we know we will be in the best care! Receipts and post-visit instructions are always emailed and we usually always get phone calls after visits to see any add-on care is needed. This place is incredible!!

This place is great. Neighbors recommended it when we got our puppy and we’ve have fantastic experiences. They stay on time, are thorough and caring, and provide great resources. Jayde the vet tech gave our puppy a vaccine so quickly and comfortably today that our puppy didn’t even notice. It’s fantastic all the way around.

This is one of the best Vets I have brought my cats to like ever. Very caring and gentle with my kitties. They did not force addition treatment on my cats and bottom line they were absolutely great. Thank CAC for such great professionalism.

Phenomenal vet with great expertise, advice, and providing a non-stressful environment for my dog, Gal. This is the best vet we have ever been to and we’ve been to many from moving around. Thanks Clarendon for taking care of my girl these past couple of years.

I was recommended this vet by a few fellow dog owners and was happy to see so many great reviews. My first visit went well but my second was a disaster. My prior vet prescribed my dog a dose of 300mg of gabapentin and 250mg of trazodone the night before and an hour before the visit for her anxiety.
After my first visit here the vet changed the dosage to 900mg of gabapentin and 250mg of trazodone the night before and the same two hours before the visit. I called days before my appointment to confirm since my dog was going to be sedated for a nail trim if I should still give this dose since I was concerned she might overdose as it would be 1800mg of gabapentin and 500mg of trazodone in a 24 hour period and sedative on top of that (my dog is only 69 pounds). I was told on the phone that it was fine as the amount of sedative would be reduced to account for this.
I followed the instructions and gave my dog this amount. During the visit after my dog was sedated the vet said she followed my prior vets dosage for the sedative which was when my dog was on a drastically lower dosage of gabapentin and trazodone. At first I didn't think anything of it; however, when my dog was given the reversal she still had not waken up over an hour after the fact not to mention she had to be put on oxygen since her breathing had slowed so much. Additionally, the first tank of oxygen they brought in was marked as still having oxygen but when the valve was turned the tank was empty and they had to get a replacement. The vet and tech both remarked about how out of it my dog was and next time they were going to lower the dose as clearly it was too much. Eventually my dog was lucid enough to leave the vet after a lot of attempts to wake her but passed out immediately in the car and had to be carried into my apartment. My dog then did not wake up and could not be waken up despite trying to do everything that was recommended while at the vets to wake her up.
She woke up finally 10 hours after the sedation to immediately vomit and have severe diarrhea which had never happened when she had been sedated in the past. My dog has been going in and out of consciousness since then only to vomit and have diarrhea.
Not to mention when reviewing my bill I was charged for an anal gland expression which I did not request nor was notified it was going to be an additional charge. When my dog happened to poop a small amount during the expression they collected it for a fecal sample which I was not told it was going to be an additional cost nor consented to. The vet asked the tech if they had a sample on file yet the tech said no and proceeded to collect it and charge me. I had asked ahead of time for an estimate of everything and anal expression was not listed as I requested only a nail trim.
Now I'm sitting up with my dog all night to ensure she's alright as she has been vomiting regularly since she became more lucid again at 10pm it's currently 2:30am and she has vomited and had diarrhea several times and her breathing is slow. I'm hoping my dog lives through the night as I am seriously concerned for her. I plan on calling in the morning when they open to discuss what I see as borderline if not outright malpractice on their part. Needless to say I would never in a million years recommend this vet as I don't think they can guarantee the well being of your pet. I talked to the people who had recommended me here and they are appalled and all intend to take their pets elsewhere as do I.

When I reached out to Clarendon Animal Care, I had two senior cats who I had loved since their births. One I hand raised from a few days old and that precious kitty was diagnosed with bone cancer while a patient of the clinic.
The staff, from front desk to veterinary techs, were always polite and competent. But Drs. Ungerer & Gloor were the two who I remember best. They were able to offer hope and give me time with my cats by suggesting medications and testing that I could financially manage and would bring some measure of comfort to my babies. They spent time loving on the kitties, listening to me, understanding my heart's wishes and my limited finances.
Very importantly, in a very heartfelt way, both suggested there may be next steps I should consider. I understood what that meant. It was not an ultimatum but something for me to consider, a possibility I could not bring myself to be the first to suggest. In time, I was able to peacefully make that decision for both.
Thank you, Dr. Ungerer & Dr. Gloor. You do not have to remember me but I will never forget you and I will return to Clarendon when I get my next pet- which I hope is not too long from now!

I can’t recommend this wonderful vet practice enough! The staff is kind, the environment is welcoming and completely designed to make pets feel as calm as possible, the technicians and doctors are amazing. The whole team is efficient, thorough, friendly and thoughtful. They healed my dog’s fractured leg while being kind and supportive to me, and it’s always great to go for his routine care appointments.

Best front desk service and responsiveness to my inquiries. Very caring of my fur baby. Dr Gloor saved me from having torn Acl by going to holistic vet. That was 3-4 yrs, walking and running and 15.5 yrs old

Clarendon Animal Care is top notch through and through! Dr. Carr took exceptional care of and concern for my cat Moo when he was alive, as well as several other amazing vets (Dr. Gottlieb, Dr. Fitzgerel) and numerous vet techs. Having a designated cat waiting area was incredibly helpful since my cat was not used to dogs! Huge bonus points for their fun social media presence! When I adopt another pet, CAC will be the first place I go back to.

I am living overseas as a federal employee. Whenever my wife and our Goldendoodle are back in Arlington, Clarendon Animal Care has come through everytime. From vaccinations, arranging our International Health Certificate so that Wally could travel with us, the calm environment, we feel secure and happy to continue to stay with Clarendon Animal Care North for years to come. I mostly appreciate the attentiveness that we've received while out of the country. Wally ran out of medication and they immediately approved the refill. Looking forward for when we're back at the end of the year.

I love the vets and the staff from CAC. They are super caring to your pet and always put their best interest at heart! For this pet parent who has health with kidney disease, mass cell cancer, osteosarcoma, leg amputation, two ACLs and a terrified rescue- they are my first and only go to for trusted care and advice. I have been a customer since their grand opening and would never go elsewhere. I hope that they continue to expand and grow.

I've only had perfect experiences at CAC! My cat feels at ease and everyone at the front desk is always kind. We've two different DVMs over the course of being a patient and they're both thorough yet compassionate. Sincerely recommend CAC to anyone in the area.

CAC North was my two cats' vet for about a year when I lived in the area. They saw my cats from little kittens and I was always super happy with the care they received! The staff is all super friendly and they have a separate cat waiting area which is super cute.
