Do not use CityStash. They overcharge you and have hidden fees. There are much cheaper and much better storage companies in the DC area.

Don't use CityStash. My daughter used them to store her stuff and it was a nightmare. They are much more expensive than their competitors and broke things on delivery.

I had a great experience with the movers-- they were very efficient and friendly! However, upon receiving my furniture in my new apartment, my TV that was kept in storage was completely cracked. I have been trying to get in contact with this company for the past two weeks, and no one has returned my calls or responded to my emails. Their customer service is horrendous and if it weren't for the movers, I would give CityStash Storage one star.

I can't fully express in words how sincerely I discourage anyone from doing business with this company. I have never been so disrespected and just generally slimed as a paying customer to a service provider. I had a great experience in the first half of my process with CityStash when my things were collected for storage. They weren't the most professional team, they bumbled around and were rushing, apologizing for knocking things into walls but never stopped rushing. That said, they were good, kind people and I was happy to look past a little damage-free klutziness. When it came time to have my things delivered, the situation went south quickly. At the very end, I think possibly even after my delivery window, I got a call saying they were running late and hadn't even picked up my things from the warehouse to be delivered. I had been calling the main line for updates but didn't get a call back for hours, long after they would have known they wouldn't make it within the delivery window. Again, while it was annoying and could have been handled better, these things happen and I was willing to look past it. The delivery was finally made about 7pm and the movers again arrived flustered and rushed through the process, again banging into things and dinging walls. I assured them it was no big deal and not to worry, I understood sometimes life goes wrong. Once they had finished putting everything in the house, they let me know they had misplaced the specific hardware to reassemble a major piece of bedroom furniture - dresser with attachable mirror. I was told they would collect new screws from Home Depot and see me "first thing in the morning," calling me about an hour before they arrived. The next day I waited until 11 before I began calling, again waiting hours for a callback. This is when I began to get frustrated. When the owner finally called me back around 4pm, he said to me: "I don't know who told you that or why, but that was never going to happen." After exercising a healthy dose of patience and understanding through this, I had now taken not one but two unnecessary days off of work and a snarky remark from he business owner was the last thing I wanted to hear. Two full days later, the job was complete beginning on Tuesday and ending on Friday. The owner will likely be surprised by this review, though I'm not sure why. I clearly communicated my frustrations and he took little to no responsibility for the issues, blaming everything largely on the team he had sent in. When he wasn't blaming his team, he was all but shrugging his shoulders at me. While they certainly were part of the problem, my real grievance rests with him, who handled the situation with the grace and professionalism of a kindergartner in a boardroom. I was refunded $35 for the over half of a week of inconvenience, which perhaps was more insulting than no acknowledgement at all.

I only had about 8 items and they damaged one and completely destroyed the other one. When I reached out to them about this they told me it was basically expected that my bookshelf was going to break during the move even though it was in totally fine condition when they picked it up. They also said they would come try to fix the dresser that they damaged, but they never committed to a time to come and eventually started ignoring my emails. The concept is great but if they are going to carelessly break things then that is worse than them not moving anything at all.

If you would like to be let down the night before your scheduled move, choose CityStash. If you would like to be told, because you're adding an extra item or two, that they can't pick those items up until the middle of next week, choose CityStash. If you would like to be going back-and-forth on email repeatedly because they do not supply a phone number to make contact for existing customers, choose CityStash. Here I am 11 PM the night before they are to pick up, scrambling to find another solution for a small order of two couches one chair and two stools. Ridiculous. The most misleading website I have ever seen. Oh it look so easy... Well not when they only have one truck for all of DC and can't add a few extra items. You'd think if they were customer service driven they would be happy to rent another truck and pick up additional items. Stay away! They've made my life crazy for the past 48 hours.

I recently moved my my apartment to my husband's place, and I needed a company that could pick up, store, and deliver my furniture back to me. Enter CityStash. They wrapped and picked up my furniture in record time, their delivery guys were extremely nice and professional, and the price point was (and is) perfect. I highly recommend CityStash and have been telling all my friends about what a great experience I've had with them.

Best option for storage in the DC area!! I am not sure I can find the words to compliment the guys at CityStash enough! In my opinion they have their business all figured out: from the simple online bin ordering & inventory system, quick response to questions, on time delivery & pick up... all of the above comes with a smile (even after multiple trips up my stairs!) My overall experience with them has been absolutely fabulous and I will definitely recommend CityStash to anyone with storage needs!

I’ve been using CityStash for the past 6 months and couldn’t have asked for a more simple and convenient storage experience…. They bring the containers to you, you fill them at your leisure, schedule pick-up on line, they come back to seal and remove, and then will re-deliver the containers back to you whenever you need them (I recently had them deliver the containers with my winter items, which I emptied and re-filled with summer stuff). No lifting, no spending all day Saturday making millions of trips to/from storage units, no uhaul rental, no big pod chillin’ out front taking up neighbor’s parking spots, and the best part, no big price tag! Delivery team is efficient and punctual – in and out in less than 20min. Owner is very professional and usually responds in less than an hour once I make an online request. I’m a fan! Highly recommend!

CityStash is the best! By far some of the nicest people I have worked with. I needed a place to store my stuff before moving to Foggy Bottom. They delivered everything that I needed the day I moved in and were able to arrive during the same window as the other movers I had hired. Pat H and George A are two really friendly, really stand up guys who answered all of my questions and made this process super easy! Definitely recommend them!

I was going away for the summer and then moving to a new place a couple blocks away. I didn't want to pay rent while I was away so I stored my entire life with CityStash. They contacted me immediately after placing my giant order so we could coordinate pick up times and all of the other stuff. After dropping off my boxes to pack, I realized I needed more (oops) so when they came to pick up my stuff they brought more boxes and came back the next day to pick them up even though it was short notice. When I moved to my new place they brought my stuff there (for a fee). In short, I paid equal to (maybe even slightly less than) pod-like self-storage containers and didn't have to do any heavy lifting or bribing friends with pizza and beer.
A note about the employees/owners: I thought customer service was dead but CityStash takes it seriously and every single employee I had contact with was the model of professionalism. They contact you right away via email or phone throughout the process and you always speak to a real person. I left a message confirming my delivery date on their answering machine outside of business hours and within 10 minutes of opening I received a call back. If I ever need self-storage again I'll definitely be using CityStash without hesitation.
