I had a wonderful experience. Everyone in the office was extremely nice, and Carlos did a fantastic job with my taxes. Plus, they are also across from Trader Joe’s. Thank you and I will be back next year!

I've used HRBlock for 10+ years and after 3 years of complete service deterioration, I will give turbotax whatever price they ask for to see if every tax advisor has such poor service. It's completely unacceptable to accept an online appointment and just not show up for it. You are costing your clients time they are supposed to be using for their own work.

Used them for about 5 years. Never again. Was told by our tax preparer, Allison we were due a $2000 refund last year. Instead we received a letter from the IRS stated we owned them $4000. The IRS letter did not state where the mistake was made. We reached out to her by email and her response was to pay the IRS. Whenever I asked her a question in the past she would open a google page and search for the tax answer. Go find yourselves a real tax person/ CPA. These people are a joke.

I had to give at least a 1 star rating to be able to write a review but I would give less if I could. I have gone to Lucinda for the 3rd time now, and have received progressively worse service each time. She talks down to the client when the client is trying to educate themselves, becomes increasingly impatient, and consistently leaves herself unapproachable. It’s quite sad that someone like her is in this role, whose sole job is to ADVISE. During our allotted 30 minute meeting, only 6 minutes in, she said she doesn’t have time to pull up my information. I do not write reviews often, but when the service is this bad I just had to. When I asked for resources to further educate myself, she provided limited information. I am so disappointed by this service and will not be returning to block advisors.

Bottom Line: I was ghosted. Hope you don't fall through the cracks like I did.I'm giving one star because, although I wasn't charged for their services, I was ghosted at the last minute and had to scramble to take care of my tax return myself.My experience: Initially meet with a Block Advisor at this location in January. We discuss my tax situation, which had a lot going on in 2021. I am encouraged at the end of this first interaction and I feel that we are on the same page for the path forward.After that, I provide my tax forms as soon as they become available. I answer a few simple questions here and there from my Block Advisor over the next few weeks.Four weeks before the federal tax deadline, I get a voicemail from my Block Advisor that they are "struggling to complete [my] tax return due to complexity," and that they are handing my taxes off to another Block Advisor.I end up having to start from zero with the new Block Advisor, who clearly didn't receive any information on me from the initial Block Advisor. I wouldn't mind this, except the new Block Advisor is unresponsive by phone or email.I make my last attempts to communicate 1.5 weeks before the tax deadline and eventually give up on this H&R Block location.I understand that the last few weeks before the federal tax deadline would be incredibly for any office filing tax returns. However, I think they could have done a better job of letting me know that they've given up instead of leading me on.

1st I just want to let you know they change your appointment time without consulting you, just let you know they changed it.Here is my story of why I will not use them again. We went in for an appointment and went through everything. They had 1 question we wanted to consider before submitting. They said just email or message us in the web portal. A few days later I emailed. No answer. Next day I sent a message in the web portal and sent another email. No answer. 3rd day I call, someone answers, I ask for the person we'd worked for, and they say they will have someone call back. An hour later I call and it rings twice before going to some automated system, I hang up and try again an hour later, same result, so I make my way to a voicemail, which I'm told is full and it hangs up. Call again, same, but I make it to a corporate customer service person, tell them the story, and his "solution" is that they will call me at 5:30 on the follwoing Saturday (3 days from when we were talking, and 2 days before the tax deadline). Of course, that call never came.In order to avert missing the deadline, we made another appointment under my wife's name. They called to reschedule that for an alternate location. I asked why, they said someone was out sick who turned out to be our tax person. I explained the story, and said that we just wanted to file the taxes as-is, so could they access our info and just submit? We had already signed and everything. They put me on hold, eventually came back and said they would have to call me back. Of course, that person never called me back. Hours later a different person called to move my wife's appointment, clearly no answer on my issue. We made the new appointment. When we came to the new appointment we ran into another couple going through the same thing (from the same tax person), and their new tax person was going on 45 minutes late.We finally sit down with a new tax person and explain what happened. No like apology or empathy. I know this person didn't mess up, but you usually try to say something, like oh I'm sorry that happened or whatever. We then found out that she immediately had access to the return we'd already gone though and signed. So the whole time we were reaching out and trying to submit, if anyone had bothered to look up my SSN they could have submitted it and saved us all this.Anyway, I will never give them money again, and I hope you won't either. This is a terrible way to treat customers and a pretty serious business to be so bad at following up and ensuring things asre taken carw of.

Bad service, the lady on the first desk on the hall, is a passive aggressive and didn’t let me talk, they cancel appointments with no reason even though I had a confirmation on my email and also, I don’t mean to be a Karen but there is a sign at the door saying that face mask are “required” and none of them had one on and as soon as I stepped in, they started “working” and became “unavailable” and that’s why they didn’t not help me at all. They locked the door behind me and was 7pm and based on their hours of operations, they close at 9pm.

I love Lucinda Brunson! She is warm, friendly, patient, flexible, and extremely knowledgeable! She always goes above and beyond to explain things to me, answer all my questions and give me sound advice. I've been going to her for a few years now, and doing taxes is always painless and seamless with her. A joy to work with!

These are not 'specialists'. If all it took was reading forms and entering data, then any child could be a 'specialist'. A growing portion of the population is trading in cryptocurrencies and the guy I went to refused to answer me when I asked if he's done taxes on crypto before because it was clear he didn't know what he was doing or heard of the company Coinbase (how could you seriously work in tax and not know who that is). You're supposed to be a tax specialist, not a data entry specialist. So when a client comes in with a trading report, cost basis, and has short term and long term gains calculated out for you, don't sit there confused and unwilling to help because you actually have to put on your accountant hat for once.

We had a great experience with our tax advisor, Lucille Brunson. She is consistently clear and helpful, and asks us if we had any questions or if she needs to review anything throughout the process. We appreciated her candor and support.
