Can't say enough about this store, Great friendly knowledgeable service, great bike selection that gives you choice and not just what big company bought you local bike store. This store has been a great resource for me, and will help me do whatever "silly thing I want to add to my bike this time".

Great place to go for bike repair. And they are always willing to accommodate walk ins with quick turnaround times. Best part is the Italian store is right next to it so you can pop in for a sub while you wait.

Eric was super helpful. Glad we could get a Scott gravel from them during Labor Day. Will definitely be back when I upgrade the road bike.

This is such a great bike store that I won’t go anywhere else. I bought my bike there, have bought several biking items(helmet, gel seat, phone holder, etc.), and have the bike serviced for routine and immediate repair needs such as tire change outs, chains, etc. The store reps always have time for me, right away, and get the problem resolved ahead of when they stated, and always at a reasonable price. They are super pleasant and always have good advice. Highly recommended!!

I stopped in here while visiting DC to rent a bike for the day and explore the area. Could not have been more happy with the experience. Not only was the rental well-priced, the store is located no more than 50 yards away from a bike trail that takes you all through DC and the surrounding areas. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a reasonably priced rental bike, great customer service, and easy access to a plethora of bike trails.

Two years ago I sold my car and I bought my first new bike in 30 years. Big Wheels Bikes has helped me keep it running. Their speedy service is a Godsend as I ride my bike 7 days a week.

I bought a Marin Larkspur from the Arlington, Big Wheels, probably 15+ years ago. Almost every year I get a tune up, and my bike still rides like it's brand new. The service is knowledgable, friendly and timely. I'm always very happy with my interactions with Big Wheels.

Ordered a Surly Bike through them and it didn’t fit me correctly. I’m 5’9 and the guy orders a Large for me when I’m clearly a Medium. Surly website clearly states a size Large is for people who are 5’11 - 6’3. 1500 down the drain. Don’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a bike that’s not in stock and they have to order it.

Eric is more than reasonable with his prices. He is straight forward and willing to support any bicycle question there is. I highly recommend his team and the shop. It is 30 minutes away from my place but well worth the drive for any bicycle related issues. Fixed gear in my case.

Big Wheel Bikes is great. I’ve bought 2 good used road bikes, rented mountain bikes, and gotten fast good service on my bikes. I’m planning a new bike purchase there soon. If they weren’t great, I wouldn’t keep going back. Best part, they take you and treat you well no matter you’re experience or interest. Some places give you great service while they’re selling you a new bike and then they’re not interested in you after that. These guys listen and help you get comfortable and satisfied with whatever your questions or needs are.

The folks at Big Wheel Bikes are very professional, fast, friendly, have great recommendations -- all this AND a very good price, what else can anyone possibly want!?!I'd give them six stars out of five if I could.

I LOVE Big Wheel Bikes!!! I got my current bike from here: it is beautiful, it works perfectly, and it was incredibly well-priced. Ben (who works here and is great) helped me find it and made sure that it was ship-shap for riding. I am so grateful! If you are looking for a place to buy a bike or get your bike repaired don’t look further! Big Wheels Bikes is the BEST!!!

I had a great experience with Ben and Eric. They were very professional and patient as I was looking for a new bike. They found the perfect one for me in no time and answered all the questions I had. I definitely recommend and will make this my go-to bike shop.

Simply the most rude of any bike shop I've been to. They waste the time of cyclists.FOR CONTEXT:I've lived on three continents and 9 cities. I've been riding bikes for 30+ years, and I've owned at least 8 bicycles. If you read through Yelp -- as I'm doing now -- you will see a consistent pattern of unhappy customers with an owner named Mike S. accusing customers of lying.SHIMANO's POLICY:I purchased and had installed a 105 group set for my titanium frame road bicycle back in early 2022. (IMPORTANT NOTE: This bike store had nothing to do with installing the group set.) The chain busted at one of the links. I called Shimano and submitted proof of purchase (Shimano products are warrantied for 2 years from time of purchase). On November 23, 2022 I called and spoke with Chris at Shimano (800 423 2420), and he said just take the chain in to the closest bike shop to my home, and they will swap it out and RMA directly with Shimano, because I'd already submitted all the documentation and and had an RMA number. Chris mentioned that "any good bike shop will be able to make this work."WHAT I EXPERIENCED AT THIS BICYCLE SHOP:So on Friday, November 25, in the morning, I called and spoke with Eric W., the service manager, described the situation, and he invited me to bring the chain in. 1-3 hours later, I arrive at the store (around 1pm), and Eric is no longer there and the junior staff seem confused by my request. He was helpful with another of my requests, but he declined to call Eric (only would text him) and just asked me to leave the chain and forward correspondence I had with Shimano -- which I did.Fast forward to November 27, 2022 around 11am, I walk in to the store and find Eric. I explain the situation, and his first response is "Shipping is on you." I explained that this was not Shimano's intention or policy, and he looks back at his computer to read the email I'd sent him (and that he'd not responded to). It was clear we had reached an impasse, and Eric was not especially interested in helping. He demanded to see proof of purchase, that I had already submitted to Shimano. At some point he said, "If you want, you can just take your chain and go." So that's what I did. What is the most galling about the experience was the tone, body language, and the waste of my time. I'd called in advance, I'd went to the store twice, none of these hoops were disclosed up front or even on the second visit. (They are also materially different from what Shimano expects of world class bike shops.) And I was spoken to as though I was some sort of fraud or scammer. The issue was never resolved.HOW I WAS TREATED AT ANOTHER LOCAL BIKE STORE:In stark contrast, I was treated with courtesy by a staff who understood Shimano's RMA policies at another bike shop in Georgetown. (I won't mention their name here, because I don't want to be perceived as promoting another bike shop, but it's one of the bike shops near M and 34th.) Easy.
