I love Baird Automotive! I'm a young woman and I've taken my older car in twice (for repairs necessary before I have the car inspected in the state of VA). The employees are helpful and trustworthy. They are willing to go the extra mile and I feel the pricing is very fair!

The people here really know their stuff and they are very trustworthy. I'm so happy to have found them, it's been so hard for me to find a shop I trust with my older car.

NEVER EVER GO TO THIS SHOP! They misdiagnosed the issue with my car, overcharged me for an unnecessary repair, but the worse part was continued to deny that they had put in a off-market part. On top of that Joey was rude and unkind.
Proof is in the photo - and yet Joey kept insisting I was wrong.
Go to Tenleytown Auto - they will charge less, treat you better, and actually fix your car.

I have serviced my BMW here several times over the years and was generally satisfied with their work until the last visit. Two issues arose during that service.
First, my car was returned to me 1.5 days later than promised. When I mentioned the major inconvenience and frustration this caused, Dave responded, "The contractor I am working with didn't show up for two days. I am equally frustrated. Your car had to sit and take up the space in my lot for two extra days!" There was no apology or acknowledgment that the customer ultimately suffers the consequences.
The second, and even bigger issue, was that they short-circuited my $600 dual dash cam system when replacing the car battery. While I should have disconnected it prior to giving them the car, they should have done so as well. Instead, I was told, "I am not responsible for after-market hardware. I am not going to go around the car and search for things to unplug." Again, there was zero responsibility or regret, not even an attempt to improve by advising customers to disconnect all electronics themselves in the future.
This level of service and communication is unacceptable to me, and I will not be coming back.

I was a first-time customer who dropped my car off and asked for a VA safety inspection. Unbeknownst to me they don't do state safety inspections. Rather than call and let me know this, they proceeded to do their own inspection and charged me $90 for it, a VA state inspection only costs $20. They should have given me the opportunity to decline it.

I have been a customer about 3 years now. They serviced my Alfa Romeo (oil change and diagnostics), and advised the right time to change brake pads and rotors. I really appreciate their honesty and the Customer centric approach. The
"other" service shop I went to before Baird's, pushed me to replace the whole brake rotors and pad setup, front and back, (which still had 20K miles of life) for an exorbitant amount. They saved me time and money.
Baird automotive is upfront, reasonable, no up-selling the services. You can check the updated price on the wall, left side of the reception counter. They will tell you what they can service, what they can't, recommend the right maintenance and procedures. I am a car enthusiast, and understand which parts require what kind of maintenance, and when needs to be replaced. Super happy with them, no smoke-and-mirrors.
I recently purchased an Audi, took it there for post-purchase inspection, and was really happy with their service (unlike the nearby Audi dealership which I opted for similar service an costed me 3x). I will be booking them for the upcoming oil changes and services.
I am a regular customer now, seen them 4x in the past. Schedule with confidence, five star services.

I've had a few great experiences with Baird Automotive. They are an honest and knowledgeable shop. As a young woman, I have felt comfortable coming here time and time again, and never felt cheated, pressured, or scammed which is an absolute massive relief. They have quickly become my go-to shop in the DMV!

Best Auto shop in Arlington. Honest, quick and reliable repairs and timely service. Takes the extra time to explain repairs and troubleshoot car issues. Highly recommend Joey and his team.

The mechanics at Baird Automotive are knowledgeable, experienced, and do work right the first time. Their repair costs are reasonable, and they don't go on "fishing expeditions" to pad the bill.

No comments. You'd be surprised by the owner's attitude. Never wrote down a review but I had to. The owner might be professional w his job; I don't know, but he's got no moral, integrity, nor respect towards non customers. Everyone should be treated equally and I think that's something that at his age, has never understood.

I went in to get a diagnosis and repair for a problem I was having with my struts or something on my dodge Magnum. There was a creaking somewhere under there. They didn't fix it! But that's ok because they told me up front they weren't sure of the root problem. Instead of selling me a day long project that was a shit in the dark they offered a small/inexpensive potential solution (but no promises). I paid them the $125 if I remember correctly. Ultimately it didn't work but I don't mind because they were up front and honest about it. They are also usually pretty talkative and helpful with maintenance advice and giving context and answering questions.
