They're friendly, helpful, and professional. They're great for routine stuff, and they have vets who can complete the paperwork you need to travel abroad with your pets, which is very useful.

I used to go here 2 years ago and initially I thought they were a great vet. I started going during COVID so my first few visits I wasn't in the room with my pets.
During my dog's first annual I was allowed in the backroom and I was appalled at the way the vet Dr. B Jones (the woman) aggressively manhandled my dog. I should have known something was off because as soon as she came in she made a remark about how big dogs are more aggressive. Then when she went to do a blood draw she supposedly heard my dog growl, although I didn't hear anything. She freaked out and told the vet tech to pin my dog down and they forced a muzzle on him. This did make him upset because he's suddenly being forced to the ground for a growl that might not have even happened. I would MAYBE understand doing that if he lunged and tried to bite, but he didn't do anything close that!
If she had given me the option I would have chosen to end the appointment and reschedule it so he could take some sedatives - even though he had never needed them before and I was never told he was "aggressive" in his previous appointments.
I ended up terminating with Arlington Animal Hospital and switched to Clarendon Animal Care down the street instead. Because he was marked as "aggressive" on AAH's paperwork we had to meet with their behaviorist who evaluated my dog. The CCA behaviorist told me he wasn't aggressive at all and didn't understand why Dr. Jones had such an adverse reaction.
I don't get it either. If you hate big dogs maybe don't be a vet? There's another review from a big dog owner who had a similar issue, so this wasn't an isolated incident.

**Arlington Animal Hospital - Exceptional Service and Care**
I cannot express enough how incredible the Arlington Animal Hospital at 2301 Columbia Pike #G-1 is, especially the outstanding service provided by Lateasha. My service animal, Layla, got her paw caught in an escalator and had the paw pad ripped off, which left us in a dire emergency situation. Although there was no availability at this location, Lateasha's professionalism and empathy shone through.
As a visitor from Texas, I was completely unaware of animal service and care centers in the area, which only made the situation more stressful. Lateasha went above and beyond, personally calling various emergency vet care clinics in the area to ensure my service animal received the necessary treatment. Her commitment and dedication were truly remarkable, and her actions spoke volumes about her empathy and genuine concern for both the animals and their owners.
Lateasha's willingness to help in a critical situation was nothing short of amazing. She turned a stressful and frightening experience into a manageable one, demonstrating exceptional service and a heartfelt commitment to her work. Arlington Animal Hospital is fortunate to have such a dedicated and compassionate professional on their team. I highly recommend this location to anyone in need of top-notch veterinary care.
Layla is on the mend, and we are back home in Texas, forever grateful for Lateasha's heart. THANK YOU

I drive all the way up from Spotsylvania to have my dog seen and treated by Dr. Kay Young, who has been his vet for more than 10 years. She is fantastic!
