“I have to make this a five-star review, or it won’t show up to the front.

I decided not to renew my lease on the very first day of moving in - the sound proof in the ceiling is terrible. Just terrible. I hear my upstairs neighbors stomping into the bathroom every night. (He might just be walking.) The ceiling vibrates, and I’m jolted awake every time he uses the bathroom at night. I talked to other neighbors on different floors, and they said the same thing. Of course, the issue happens whenever your upstairs neighbors are home. I’m wearing noise-canceling headphones when they’re home, even to bed. No one should be paying this much rent for an apartment in which they can’t enjoy peace at home.

Also, the leasing office wasn’t up front about the RUBS when we signed the contract (we should’ve specifically asked). The trash fee and sewage fee fluctuate every month. We have a two-bedroom apartment and were paying about $100 just for sewage last month, ending up having to pay close to $400 (for two people) for utilities.

What a shame because the concierge and maintenance professionals do their job very, very well. Big shout out to Negeset and Maribel!”

“The staff at The Clarendon is a true family-oriented team. There’s nothing like coming home after a long day at work and being received with a warm welcome every day when I walk through the lobby. I think it’s worth mentioning that while I don’t own any pets, its amusing and fun to watch other resident’s dogs go crazy for the concierges as if they’re reuniting with a long lost friend. It always brightens up my day!

Kudos to the whole team for always going the extra mile for my family, my guests and myself, but especially Shaukat and Grover whom I interact with nearly every single day.

Giving 5 stars for the quality life I’m able to have at The Clarendon.”

“I have been staying here for the last 7 months and have become very friendly with the staff. Myra is very sweet and always has a smile on her face. I love that they are painting walls and cleaning carpets so the place stays looking nice. They also keep the place smell great. You would never know that there are many pets in the building from how great it smells and look.”

“The front desk staff is great and the building is fine.

The primary reason for rating 4 stars is Equity tried to raise my rent almost $400 after my lease ended. I was able to convince them to lower it a bit but the increase was still outrageous and I see available units listed on their site with the same floor plan as mine listed for less. They are price gouging me because they know I already live here and don’t want to move out which is a shameful money-grabbing tactic. There have been no changes since I moved in that warrant a rent increase anywhere near this large.

Edited review from 3 to 4 stars as a previous maintenance issue turned out to be a misunderstanding that was rectified quickly upon submitting a second request. The maintenance team has always been great, but I had initially thought the ownership was dropping the ball on replacing my hot water tank. It turned out it just wasn’t turned on correctly.”

“Absolutely the best managed corporate apartments I've ever lived in from Seattle, San Diego, and now DC Metro/North Virginia. The owning company is Equity and you will be paying them handsomely in rent, they do a fair job and the location is premier. However, the real 5 star review is for the local team at 2201 Wilson - Shaun, Thuraya, Krysten, Trent, Jose, and more. All my maintenance requests were done in 24hrs, with a note saying who completed it and what they did, then a follow up by the management team via a phone call. I had issues with my bank doing autopay through their corporate portal for rent and they worked with me so I never paid a penalty. The local team is 10/10. Strongly recommend, would rent again.”

“This building is in a great spot in Clarendon with awesome amenities. My space was clean and had great storage space and appliances when I arrived. I am very happy with my experience so far at The Beacon Clarendon.”

“I haven't moved in, yet, but I did think it would be worth noting that the people in the leasing office were amazing. I have looked at multiple complexes in the last week and most of them were not even thrilled to assist me on a self-guided tour appointment. It personally makes a huge difference to me when the people that are helping me find my home helps me feel comfortable and are personable. Cristian answered every question with such confidence and kindness and the homes looked pretty good for an old complex. If and when I move in, it will most likely be because of him!”

“The Clark has continued to feel like a Family to me! Travis is a God-send in maintenance, Douglas is a class act and warms up the energy In Concierge, and Johnathan’s morning greeting and event planning has put all the icing on the cake! I love this place!”

“Brandi was an exceptionally helpful leasing agent for us — and helped my partner and I get into a great unit very quickly. She wasn’t only welcoming and fun to work with, but also went over and beyond to help us get our ducks in a row and get the new place we needed. There was a lot of detail to get through quickly and she made that process simple and intuitive (and fast!). She’s also just clearly a wonderful person. We are super glad we found her and would highly recommend anyone looking in the area to check out the building — and find time to do a tour with her!”

“2001 Clarendon is the best building I could have ever chosen to call home! Everyone working here (Glenn, George and Petra in the leasing office, Kay and Mwai in the concierge, the maintenance and cleaning people) is simply the kindest, nicest and most helpful. I immediately felt welcomed and everyone has always been willing to help me with everything I needed, being super responsive. Everything I would ask, would be solved in a matter of minutes. The building is beautiful, state of art gym, pool and rooftop with a wonderful view, garage, and everything is always super clean and smells amazing. My apartment is big, has high ceilings, beautiful and modern kitchen and bathroom cabinets, great flooring. The location is also perfect, I can walk everywhere (including Georgetown) and it is just a few steps away from the Courthouse metro which takes me everywhere in the district and northern Virginia (the two airports included). Supermarkets, shops, restaurants and all sort of activities are all around the neighborhood. The 24h concierge always makes me feel safe which is particularly important to me, and in general the neighborhood is very safe. The other buildings in the area can’t even compare because they are all missing something that instead 2001 Clarendon has. I could not recommend living at 2001 Clarendon more!”

“Coming from a small town, we had a smooth transition to the city with our move in day. We arrived and picked up the keys and Nicolas gave us a quick introduction about the building and apartment and we were on our way. We communicated via email and did a zoom call to view the apartment beforehand and everything was just as described. Overall an efficient experience and we were able to get comfortably settled in without any difficulties.”

“I want to give a shout out to the building's maintenance and cleaning staff. They are very responsive and always keep the building clean and in order. I had two plumbing requests in the past week and they responded to both within a day, including replacing my sink fixture. They are also very friendly and kind.”

“I've lived at Park Adams for a year now, and I couldn't be more grateful for the amazing staff. Crystal has truly made my lease renewal process easier and she will go the extra mile. Joy has been so incredibly helpful as well. Both are so positive and have really made my living experience here wonderful. Truly, so grateful to both of them! The team here feel like friends, which adds a special touch and makes Park Adams feel like a community and home.
The community of neighbors here are wonderful, they're very friendly. The amenities are top-notch as well! I also love the renovated apartment with their smart features. Plus, the location is fantastic—so close to DC (via car and metro) at a great price. Overall, my time here has been truly wonderful!”

“I have lived here for 14 years and own two units in the building. While the building is nearing its 60th birthday, it is still in great shape. All the inspections are up to date and the association gets regular reviews of its budget and capitol projects to ensure that the building remains safe. As an older building, you get cool things like more space, beautiful original parquet flooring (if it hasn't been replaced), large balconies, ample parking, and thick, concrete walls that mitigates noises from the neighbors. In these 14 years the building has done a remarkable job of updating and improving. Off the top of my head, we've had new chillers, new boilers, new plumbing, concrete repair, new lobby, new rec room, new party room, renovated laundry rooms and regular washer/dryer equipment updates, renovated hallways, new elevators, updated gym, and updated pool. But because the building is old, has 504 units with 1000+ people in it, and backs up against a creek, you may see the occasional bug. There is regular pest control paid for by the association and individual units can always ask for extra visits. Being in an urban area, pests are inevitable - I have friends who live in brand new luxury apartments/condos that face similar problems to the Carlton with pests. In my 13 years I have never had a pest problem in either of the two units I own.The community is very friendly - and pet friendly too. Management does a remarkable job, especially given everything they need to deal with on a daily basis. They are running a multi-million dollar annual budget building with 1000+ people. All the staff are friendly and professional, and care about the community as if it were there own.Bottom line - is the building perfect? No. But it is well-run, in a great location, and amazing value for your money.”

“Great location. Located in the quiet Lyon Village neighborhood, with beautiful homes and plenty of sidewalk space. Right next to Lyon Village park, with tennis/basketball courts. Across the street from a Giant, CVS, and Walgreens. 10-12 minute walk from downtown Clarendon, where you can find a Whole Foods, bars/restaurants, and the Clarendon metro station. Just down the street from a Mom's Organic Market.I found the complex to be very quiet, and the other tenants were very respectful. The office manager, Faye, was very helpful and kind. The maintenance team was very responsive, and requests were usually completed within 24 hours. The outside of the complex is very nice-looking, with brick buildings and trees surrounding the property. I lived in a one-bedroom apartment and found it to be very spacious. The kitchens are very large (lots of counter space) and have modern appliances, including an in-unit washer/dryer and a gas stove with hood. The units have original parquet wood flooring. The doors have arched tops, which adds a nice touch. Note that this means the walls are plaster (as opposed to drywall), so it is more difficult to mount heavy items on the wall. The price is very competitive. I easily paid $200-$400 less per month compared to similar (or lower) quality 1 bedroom apartments in the area. Having water, sewage, trash, gas, AND parking included in the base rent is incredibly rare for Arlington (you just have to pay rent, electricity, and internet). The units are heated using radiators (gas), so you don't have to pay for heating in the winter. Guest parking is free, and there's always plenty of overflow space across the street at the Giant parking lot.Overall, I had a great time living here, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to live at a good price.”

“I recently moved in two months ago and have loved my experience so far, the entire apartment team from the concierge, maintenence and management are all personable and friendly. The apartment is a bit expensive however it provides an amazing atmosphere and beautiful place to show off to guest. Everyone I've met are friendly and you will not regret taking a look.”
