Being under new ownership, this funeral home stepped up to the plate with very professional services—such a fantastic experience in such a difficult time. The people there were so welcoming and attentive to our/family's needs and very well organized. It was such a beautiful service. Everything went smoothly. I can’t recommend them enough if you are in the Appomattox area; they are just an fantastic team!

Warm, Professional Staff and AtmosphereMy recent experience with the Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home was as follows: Mr. Luther Drummond and the entire team at Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home (including Mrs. Chambers, Ms. Hodge, Rev. McCoy, and Mr. Turner as well as Mr. Drummond's son) were all warm, welcoming, person-centered, and professional. Their encouraging words, warm hugs, smiling faces, trusting handshakes, and high level of professionalism all helped me and my siblings as well as our supportive friends and family get through one of the most difficult times of our life. I am so thankful that my oldest brother made the decision to entrust services to Bruce & Stiff. Even at this time, they have continued their same level of friendliness and professionalism as they answer our questions and resolve our needs. Somehow they effortlessly balance the business aspect with the care of making us feel like we are people. I never felt like I was just a number. I never felt any coldness or distance. I only felt like they cared about our needs and memorializing our mother with honor in keeping with our unique financial circumstances. They were all very accomodating in making sure that our vision for our mother's memorial service became a reality. Owner, Luther, and his staff were professional and accommodated my family's every need. Saying thank you just feels like it wasn't enough to this remarkable company/team. I want to share and let everyone know that from the beginning process to the end; knowing that the end wouldn't be the end unless that's what you wanted. Luther Drummond and his entire staff there at Bruce & Stiff are remarkable. They went way beyond the call of duty during our loss. There was never a response of "no" and always did what they could do to make your request fulfilled. The team never made anyone and I mean anyone feel like they were not important or their loss was anything less. They were very open and communicated with everything so that you knew what was going on, what will happen and never kept anything from you during the process. If an issue came up, they wouldn't make a decision unless it came from the family. One of the main key with them was they.... LISTEN. They're intention is to be there for you, the family and that they do to the upmost. They are not the company to just pack up and leave when their services are done; they stay with you until you are done with them. They are so very respectful of you as a person and not just a customer. If the community or anyone is the surrounding area needs top-notch service and wanting someone to be upfront with you with with you throughout the process and not having a hidden agenda, Bruce & Stiff is the company you should reach out to for your services.
