Patti and the rest of her crew are not only awesome but are doing a great cause trying to get these fur babies into their forever homes. They give you as much info as possible that they know about the puppy/ dog. I found their facility clean and organized.We just adopted Dokota (Avery). She’s settling in awesomely .. A great experience the almost 2 hour drive was well worth it!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the RAWL rescue! Patti and Marie are so devoted and dedicated to providing the best care for all these babies in need of homes! They work at finding the best home for each dogs individual needs and the family looking to adopt needs. We have Three RAWL pups and I know we will be adopting more from RAWL in the future!❤️?

My wife and I visited the Rappahannock Animal Welfare League Shelter in Staunton last week and we were impressed with the facility and in particular, the staff members which assisted us. We had made an appointment to look at a particular dog, but decided against adopting him.. Instead, we adopted a wee girl, Sandra, who was just over three months old.....We were allowed to "introduce" our German Shepherd (both a "mix" and a "rescue") to "Sandra" and the lady who was assisting us was patient and helpful to us, as the two dogs were introduced. Some folks don't seem to know that dogs may react positively or negatively when first introduced......it takes a bit of time to do it properly. We are pleased to say that In only a week, "Sandra", who is now "Jo-Jo" has adapted very well to our home and has become great friends and playmates with "Hailie", the German Shepherd. Many thanks to the folks at RAWL for assisting in making our adoption possible. We are greatly pleased with RAWL and their dedicated staff! R & R Bennett

Patti is awesome, very detailed. She makes sure the animals are put in the best home.Cleanest shelter I've ever been to.They Rock!!Adopted a great dog!!

My husband and I agreed it was the right time to add a puppy to the family. After searching mostly around Virginia, we came across an adorable puppy online. Filled out an application and sent it in online and crossed out fingers. I was contacted to schedule a meet and greet. The staff at this facility is not only inviting and very nice, but they truly care for their animals. I couldn’t respect what they do at this rescue more. Our puppy (whom we haven’t settled on a name yet) is settling in right at home. She was spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped, and sent home with a collar, leash, and fluffy dog bed. She even gave us a towel for the ride home just in case of an accident. I will 100% recommend this rescue to anyone who is looking into rescuing a dog. Thank you all!! Thank you thank you!!!!!!!

RAWL was everything we could have asked for in an adoption process. They were transparent and courteous about everything, which was especially appreciated under the circumstances of COVID—19. It is so clear that Patti and the rest of the team at RAWL care deeply about their work and we are so thankful to them.

These people take in stray dogs, abused dogs and give them love, medical care, whatever they need. I got the love of my life from them & my daughter went with me to pick him up and ended up getting her boy there also. There are so many wonderful dogs without homes that one need not buy a purebred. These dogs are so grateful and have so much love to give. My boy died Jan.2018. I have a huge hole in my heart, that will never be filled.

We got our sweet boy Dino a husky/beagle mix 11 yrs. ago. Patti and all the volunteers go out of their way to give care & LOVE to all the animals. Our sweet boy passed away a week ago and we are absolutely heartbroken. If we ever decide to get another dog we will definitely go here.
