This is really nice and quiet community. My first interaction was with Ms. Atwell, leasing agent for the community. Ms. Atwell is very professional and attentive to your leasing preferences. Leasing a unit can be a big deal, especially for a long period. Ms. Atwell explained the multiple leasing options for the different units. I found Ms. Atwell to be extremely responsive to my questions and concerns. Even on her day-off someone from the leasing office reached out to me to give me an update on my questions. This is not generally done, and I usually have to chase a person down to get an answer to my question(s), so I found that to be professional as well. I also had the pleasure of meeting another person from the leasing team named Henry. Henry was very understanding and helpful during my move-in to address a concern that I was having. He remedied the matter without unnecessary red tape or having to check with hdqtrs. He has authority to make a decision. Thumbs up with that! Overall, I would give the community a 5-star but I had some minor issues post move-in that required continual maintenance requests but overall, the team is professional, its a safe community and nice place to live.

A) Became a roommate to an individual who was already in the unit for 7 months and became included in the lease as such. 12 days after I moved in the the original tenant decided to move out. Henry the property manager asked me if I wanted to finish the term of the lease I said sure not knowing that I am being set up to be screwed up badly. He took out the name of the original tenant left my name only in the lease. Well I finished my term cleaned up the place and handed all keys.
In a few days I was told that the apartment's carpet needs to be changed, painted etc...(the usual rip-off) to tune os $4350. Is the original tenant to share this bill with me? Nooooo! After all this how Henry the property manager set it up to start with. The original tenant it turns out is a friend of Mr Henry. It was quite an act and I was the fool. I am preparing to sue now.
The Lady Tsehai shed some tears but didn't want to rectify anything. She is also very selective of whom she wants to be friendly with.
I haven't rented an apartment in 25 years and this became quite an experience that damaged my credit score. It is a sham. I observed over the few months I was there that at the end of the lease everyone gets hit by a hefty cleanup bill. There are these contractors permanently positioned in the complex for the shenanigans.
B) The apartment itself looks great from the outside but is not well insulated for noise. When you take a shower or when you are walking around inside your unit the whole building you are in knows because of this poor insulation.
C) Starting a Day before trash day there is such a mass of trash at the trash bin that is tore up by crows and foxes the stink reaches high heaven. It is disgusting. Summer is awfully stinky at the complex.
D) There are also these unsavory characters that are loitering around the interior of the complex you feel very unsafe. Don't they go to work? Don't they sleep at night?
There, I was holding back for a while.
A terrible and costly experience. Beware.

I love it here. The Office Staff is very friendly and professional. The property is kept very clean
, tidy, and well landscaped. The Office Staff is always having community events for the residents. Maintenance issues are handled swiftly. The area feels safe. Parking is free. And the location is close to so much in the area. A+

I have lived here over 3 years and generally things have been good but I do have some complaints that bring the review down to 3 stars:
- They have consistently increased my rent by more than 100 dollars every year. I have talked with management and they explained that rent is set by an algorithm that they do not have control over. So keep in mind that you will not be able to negotiate rent increases and will be at the mercy of an algorithm.
- Our water heater burst and we were without any form of AC for a few days (without warning). In my opinion preventative maintenance should have been done to prevent this from happening. I talked to management and they said they are implementing preventative maintenance going forward.
- We saw a cockroach. Usually an exterminator only comes once a week so I would have to wait a whole week before they would do anything, but I got lucky and they already had an exterminator coming the next day. Unfortunately they sent the exterminator to the wrong apartment so the exterminator did not come. I called the management office and they sent an exterminator the day after that. According to the exterminator there were no signs of other cockroaches. In my opinion even a single cockroach is unacceptable in an apartment that cost over $2000. I keep a clean apartment, the leasing office should have sent exterminators to spray my apartment before we saw a cockroach.

Living here has been smooth and easy. Minimal noise, access to convenient shopping, and free parking are all perks. Management is responsive and helpful, and I've always had pleasant and quick assistance/response from Tsehai in the office both before my move, and during my time as a resident.

I have lived in this community for 7 years and I’m so grateful! Tsehai is one of the most wonderful persons to work with. She has always made me feel so comfortable in asking questions and she’s always cares about how she can continue to support me. I love this community and am so glad to call it home!

Moving to Windsor Kingstowne Apartments has been the best decision my family and I have made. The office management staff are all kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly! They greet you when you enter and make you feel welcomed. Especially Yanira, she is amazing and she made our leasing process experience great from beginning to end. She answered all our questions and guided us every step of the way. Their maintenance department staff (everyone) has been amazing! We called for a maintenance request and they responded immediately. They resolved it quickly and efficiently. Ena and her maintenance department team are hardworking and professional. Henry, the property manager is definitely operating a tight ship and keeping this property in top shape. I would highly recommend Windsor Kingstowne Apartments!

Although I will be ending my lease in June my experience has been good. I attribute that goodnees to Aaron Bailey and Tsehai Atlaw. From the moment my lease began they made the difference.
The first leasing agent was not very helpful, but when Aaron and Tsehai stepped in, their kindness, responsiveness to concerns and willingness to ensure matters were resolved turned a poor review into an exceptional one.
Kudos to Windsor at Kingstowne for retaining quality team members. This team supports the engaging, safe and high standards for community living. Thank you Aaron, Tsehai and the maintenance team for allowing the time I was here a good experience. By the way the Taco Tuesday and most recent brunch was fantastic. Thank you and Take care.

We’ve only been living here for one week but so far the experience has been great. The office immediately addressed any issues we encountered upon move in. The gym is amazing! And the neighborhood is clean, tidy, and quiet.
I also can’t rave enough about Brandi in the leasing office. From the day we first came in to look at apartments until now, she has been so kind and welcoming, so incredibly patient with our millions of questions, returned our calls in a timely manner, and walked us through all the steps we needed to take. She’s checked on us several times since move in too which is much appreciated!

These apartments were the best ones, since beginning we had 0 issues, very clean, also it's very quiet neighbourhood and gym has been renovated and open 24/7. Also shops are very close and location is great. Even though we stayed only for 4 months since we had to move to another country. I would recommend since it is amazing.

My husband and I have been with Windsor Kingstowne (previously known as Sussex at Kingstowne) since July 2020. We've been in 3 apartments (transferred apartments for more space) and have had nothing but good experiences. Aaron & Henry in the leasing office are always very helpful and timely in their correspondences, especially during our transfers. The move in process is smooth and they are there to help if you need anything.
Our favorite person on the staff though, has got to be, Alberto, on the maintenance team (I believe I'm getting his name right, if not please correct). We've had him as our main maintenance guy for the last 4 years and has been a joy to work with. He cares for the residents and the buildings and is always there to fix the issue, major or minor. I would recommend Windsor to anyone simply for him being on the team.

I had the great opportunity of working with Aaron in the leasing office. Aaron is very professional and detailed oriented and does great follow up in order to assist potential applicants to make sound decisions on leasing with Windsor Kingstowne. If you are researching apartments in the Kingstowne area of Alexandria. Please stop by and ask to speak with Aaron for your rental experience and needs. I assure you, he will assist you from start to finish. In addition, there is no doubt that you will be truly satisfied with Aaron and his professionalism in the rental apartment business in securing a great rental unit in this wonderful fun filled community with a close proximity to the District.
