This is not the review I wanted to leave at all. But on December 30th, 2024 , I visited Safeway. Avoid the cashier with the last name Nyugen. She does not count money properly. My total was $26.76, and I'd given her $46.76, and she proceeded to give me my .76 cents back (which she should have kept if it was exactly exact change). She put exact change and stole my $20 . I had to go to customer service. I gave them 24 hours to get it sorted out. I repeat, do not pay cash here. I didn't get my call within 24 hours, and I still don't have my $20 back. I'd leave a 0 stars if I could. Normally, I have no problems at this Safeway, but this really takes the cake.

A very poorly laid out grocery store. At checkout, management should realize that time is money. The less time your customers need to waste trying to get out of your store, the more likely that they will return. There are other options after all. Self checkout is not as popular as you are trying to force it to be. Open some staffed registers and train the help to move it along. This should not be this difficult. I have money in my pocket that I’m trying to transfer to you, don’t make me wait forever, or run the register myself, with zero training mind you.

Poor management & customer service! 10:40 pm and the doors are locked up right, even though the web site and sign on the door says open until 11:00 pm.

Worst employee hiring process ever experienced. Got hired and was in the process of starting to get trained but there was something always wrong with their system, they awalys sent me back home and when I would call them they would tell me "call back later there is something wrong with your employee id. Then I waited for them to call me to give me my start date and they never called me back, so I had to call managment on a thursday and they told me "your id is not working". So I kept calling them for an update but they were always busy. Just to find out that I was on the scedule and they never called me in. So I call them the following week to see when I can come in, Just to find out they terminated me without even calling me. The manager "Josue" told me the store tried calling me three times, but that Is a lie, because they did not call me, not even once! In fact I called them on a thursday then on saturday. They didn't even give me a second chance. My interview date was 9/25/24 and they didn't even set up my account until 10/17/24. Very slow system and poor managment. My worst hiring process ever and I didn't get a chance to get trained. If your looking to get a job here I would strongly recommend another job.

Worst rotisserie chicken I've ever encountered. Mushy, mealy, and tasteless. The poor bird gave its life for nothing. If aliens tried to synthesize a chicken from sawdust and mud, they'd likely achieve a tastier result. What a disappointment.

I bought baby formula from here and after realizing it was the wrong one (regular not goat Kendamil), they refused the return for policy reasons yet would not show me where the policy dictated this. True or not, these formulas have a 2 year expiration life. I’m out $100 and left disappointed and upset by the poor customer service approach and policy. Please do better, especially for parents. I won’t be shopping at Safeway again.

I recall the opening of the Safeway store, which stood out as a model establishment in the late '90s. It impressed with its fresh products and impeccable cleanliness. Fast forward a quarter of a century to today, I found myself buying a juice that had expired in December 2023. A rather unfortunate turn of events.

I don't know how many times I've been to this Safeway in the 6 months I've worked in the area. Weekly is a safe bet. The Starbucks employees are great, the Front End/UScan associates are attentive and responsive when I've needed anything and their deli department is great! Lots of meal options to go or to heat when you get home. Highly recommended.

Safeway is always a great place to get fresh produce. They also stock items that other stores do not like sherbert, salt and pepper lays potatoe chips and more. Of course it's a grocery store so most of the items are the same. But their ready foods are second to none. I also like that most of them have incorporated a Starbucks. I don't like hunting down my coffee.

It's a nice, clean, & very organized store. Very large & seems like they have a variety of selections. The thing that I didn't like was their rolls were sitting there with open tops. So if the bread was fresh it got very hard on the outside. Being from NJ were funny about breads. So I wasn't able to find any rolls there at all. Some of the Bolio rolls seemed OK cuz they were wrapped in plastic bags when fresh. But no kaiser rolls like that, only available in the open bins. Atleast when I was there. Good sales on soda etc.
