This is my new favorite work out! It was so fun and I really felt the burn. I had a great instructor named Paige who really made the class that much better. Make sure you go and check out a class with her!

I am old. I am out of shape. Really really out of shape. But they made me feel welcome and though I couldn't hang, it was a great start. I'll be joining them for class regularly!

I started going here because I was coming off of an ankle injury and figured barre would be a good low impact workout that would also help improve my balance so I would lessen the chances of future ankle injuries. I never expected that signing up would lead to me consistently working out for the first time in my life but here I am 6 months later! While I am nowhere near hitting all my fitness goals I have noticed a big improvement in my balance and I notice that I am getting a little better in my form each time I go. The instructors are patient, helpful, and encouraging even though I’m not the most athletic person out there. I like that the classes are always challenging no matter how many you’ve attended and that there is a repetitive format so I somewhat know what to expect. Parking is also very easy which is a huge plus for me. The only con I can think of is that the lobby is a little small and classes are pretty crowded on the weekends so it can get a little chaotic at times but l’m happy to deal with it because the location is great. I never thought I’d be a 6 am workout class person but it is slowly becoming my favorite way to start my morning (pro tip: Starbucks is next door if you need help waking up!)

The classes are great and well developed especially if you want to built strength of your muscles. The people that own and some instructors specifically Jess. She is rude pushy and disrespectful. I wanted to move to Clarendon pure barre because Alexandria classes were all the time full plus the attitude of certain ppl there was too much. I was willing to cancel the membership from that reason spoke with manager and still was charged the fee plus of course Jess is responding to further massages. She called me multiple times even though I was in contact with someone else she was still trying to be controlling including her voice mail (“ I’m calling again...”) well I work in hospital and I have busy schedule so I didn’t feel like speaking with her at 1pm since I already set up phone call with someone else. I’m still trying to straight stuff up with them. But if you want to have good time and enjoy the class just don’t take Jess as instructor.

I took a foundation class and it was actually pretty challenging in a good way! I definitely recommend Jess, she made sure I knew what I was doing even when I wasn’t but definitely didn’t make the work out easy. One of the best things about it was probably the fact that I didn’t feel left behind in terms of the exercise I was preformingA!

I've been attending for nearly a year now and I love it! I've never felt so strong, and the the community there is so supportive and phenomenal! I adore all the instructors and how they help you modify work outs in case you have injuries or difficult areas (eg I have arthritis in my feet and they always help me get a good workout despite that). Love love love! LTB!

I have done 15 classes and I am loving it! Always looking forward to my next class! It really works all your inner muscles. I got two friends joining me already and they love it as well. All the teachers are friendly and know exactly what they are doing! ?

I'm new at Pure Barre but I'm already in love with the workout! The movements are challenging but easy to follow along with. The instructors are all amazing and have their own variations of the class which I enjoy. I 100% would and have recommended Pure Barre Alexandria to my friends and plan to continue attending.

Barre itself is an excellent workout - I’m in pretty good shape, and this challenges me every time. I would definitely recommend barre as an addition to your workout routine, or if you don’t currently have a fitness routine.

Before I joined Pure Barre I tried out various boutique fitness studios from time to time but could never fathom spending $150+/month on a very limited gym. After attending a trial class at Lululemon they invited me in for a free class and I said yes, joking to my husband that I knew they were trying to hook me for a membership but that I would just take the one class. After that class I signed up for the intro month, at the end of which I couldn't imagine not going. I've been going 3-5x/week and still struggle a LOT with most of the exercises, but am working muscles I didn't know I had and seeing slow but sure progress. RE the price - yes, it's expensive...but knowing how much you are spending forces you to make the most of it, so I think it's totally worth it.

This was a great class, 45 minute empower. I really liked the workout and instructor, it went by so fast! Clean studio, great spot near Old Towne. However, with my 1+ hour commute after work, even trying to get there early is difficult. My friend has the same issue and was not even a minute late, maybe 30 seconds, and they denied her entry to the class and charged extra for not taking the class. there really is no grace here.
