I've visited Pinnacle several times with good results until yesterday when my dog became sick necessitating a second bath. She wasn't well, which worsened her anxiety with her groomer, Cassandra. We were aware that our dog was afraid and uncomfortable In past visits but were under the impression that it was getting better. In fact, the groomer stated it went better on the previous visit. To help ease the grooming I clipped my dogs feet after Cassandra informed me the she really didn't like her feet being done. This time, Cassandra called to notify me she was sick and I went straight away to pick the dog up. Another staff member came out with my dog and I apologized for the occurrence of her getting sick and then asked if they were aware of ways to help anxious dogs with their grooms. Our dog was never sick on previous visits. He told me to talk to my vet that they couldn't recommend medication which I get, and then said I should ask my vet AND get a referral for another groomer, basically firing us as clients. The owner is unprofessional, and did not come out and talk to me in person and didn't call me to explain after I requested a call back. There is a lack of compassion for less than perfect dogs there. There are all kinds of dogs with different personalities on the planet and clients hope to be met with professionalism. They are not the kind of people one would like caring for their dog. Further, the owner posted on their personal Facebook page the following post, neglecting to give the full story.

Bumping up my review. I have been going to them for maybe 7 years now with my dog, and lately we make appointments for a visit about every 8 weeks. They always do a wonderful job and treat the dogs well. I trust they will do great work, and they've been my go-to groomer for years now. I would recommend them to anyone who needs grooming in the Alexandria, VA area, or farther if you're willing to drive (I would).

I've been taking my maltipoo, Ricci, to Cassandra for over 2 years. She is so amazing with dogs, she is very careful and does a wonderful job every single time! She listens carefully and implements exactly what you want. Ricci loves her very much. He did come back with a few cuts once, but he had an appointment with one of Cassandra's assistants at that time. Never had any issues with Cassandra. I definitely recommend her services to anyone who is interested.

Pinnacle owner Cassandra Reed was the only groomer I could find to reliably hand strip my Cairn Terrier. She started grooming Duncan before she opened Pinnacle, and she's the only groomer I trust completely with my little boy. She's an amazing professional who attends to all breeds, grooming to standard or creative if you are into making a statement with your pet. She is a hard worker and closely supervised her staff to ensure customer satisfaction.

Pinnacle is the best. Easy to get my dog in for an apt. The best grooming. and they work in my timeframe. Affordable, and I swear that it's the cleanest Pet Spa I've ever been in. 10/10

Just picked up my puppy (16.5 weeks old) from his first groom. I'm rather disappointed to say the least. First, my appointment was supposed to be with the owner, Cassandra (my confirmation email even states this); however, when I arrived it was clear that my appointment was with someone else (I believe his name was Arturo). I got a vibe that he wasn't too experienced/comfortable with puppies. Pinnacle Pet Spa came highly recommended, and I was willing to pay more for a puppy cut in order to ensure that a professional would make my pup's first groom a positive experience. The groomer said he had a difficult time with my puppy, yet my vet has never had issues trimming his nails. He came home with eye boogers still around his eyes and several split nails. I dropped a pretty penny at Pinnacle so I expected a much better result. I do plan to call tomorrow to find a solution for my dog's nails and will update my review once I receive a response. On the plus side, he smells good, his coat is soft from the bath, and the hair was trimmed relatively even around his face and paws - this bumped my review to 2 stars. As of now, I do not plan to return.

I only went here for a nail trimming for my pup last week and I must say Arturo is THE BEST hands down I’ve ever seen. I’ve owned many dogs. He made her nails so smooth and neat, nothing hanging or jagged. Well done and I will definitely be back.
