Good: Our room was spacious. The hotel has a great location, close to all amenities and King Street. The 24-hour gym, although very small, was easy to access. The restaurant downstairs was quite nice and offered happy hour oysters.
Bad: The staff were quite unfriendly. When we checked in, the evening host ignored us. As we stood next to the counter waiting to be acknowledged, she didn't even say hello. Instead, she just asked, "Do you have ID?" in a stern voice without even looking at us. It felt more like we were being questioned than greeted. This attitude gave us a sour taste from the start and seemed to carry on throughout our stay. Other issues included not having the sheets replaced during our entire stay (7 days), the bed was made only once, and the sound insulation between the rooms was poor, which meant we were often woken up by banging noises. Additionally, the AC was loud, and there was no ceiling lighting in the room or many lamps, which made the room always quite dark. They claim to be a four-star hotel, but we didn't have a four-star experience.
Rooms: Spacious but the sound insulation can improve
Safety: Key card to access the lifts was good, however anyone and everyone seemed to be walking in off the streets and generally the amount of parties coming through didn't make it feel overly safe
Walkability: It's in a great central location to Old Town
Food and drinks: The happy hour Oysters were fun and tasty

Cons: Hotel bathroom had black mold on the ceiling in multiple spots and in the shower that could be easily cleaned. Also, mold above the window across from the ac vent. We had four people (two adults & two teenagers) in the room and it was very tight... Too much big furniture! TV is old school and we could not connect our fire stick.
Pros: Staff was helpful and welcoming! Location is amazing... Great for exploring and walking Alexandria and a quick drive to DC! Hotel is cute and you see they are going for boutique style, but they need to clean up the room for a higher rating!

A decent hotel in very good location.
They will steal from you though, in the form of an unavoidable 'amenity fee' that they will charge to your room after checkout with no warning. My reservation had been fully prepaid and I had not opted in for anything like this amenity option. When I called and asked them to remove it, they said there was nothing they could do even though the charge came directly from the hotel.

Great hotel on the waterfront, room was nice and decently sized. Service was great, this is definitely a place I'd stay again.

Excellent location within walking distance of all the Alexandria action. Restaurants, bars and parks within walking distance. Great views of the Potomac River. I appreciated the bamboo keys as I try to use the least amount of plastic as possible. Beds and pillows are comfy, quiet clean room, well appointed bathroom with extra towels. Good water pressure in the shower. Overall a great stay. Highly recommend.
Rooms: Very comfortable and quiet room
Walkability: Close to it all

The hotel is fine, the location is great and the staff is friendly. The problem lies in sketchy business practices. Management is running a "bait and switch" game where you agree to their room price online and then when you arrive they tell you about a $25/day "amenity" fee, which essentially comes with no real amenities. They will give you credit at their hotel store which has some cheezits and sodas, which I would never consume. and yes, hold your breath--discounts for a nearby ship cruise. IHG--have you no shame?

It was a wonderful experience and surprising. I didn't expect to feel like I was on a vacation, but that's how it turned out.
Rooms: Spacious and clean
Nearby activities: Excellent waterfront access to "the Providence," which I highly recommend, and all the Old Town shops and restaurants.
Walkability: Walking is a must to share in the fun
Noteworthy details: Being such a dog-friendly town, there was a constant joy having them around.

Overcharged my credit card for the room and never provided me a receipt, parking sucks and you have to let parking attendants move your car around a tiny garage all the time because there aren't enough spots. Check in took forever with only one guy working the front.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel in May of 2024! The location was great, a close walk to lots of awesome restaurants and coffee shops. The room was clean, comfy, and nicely decorated. Staff is lovely too- I had a fun interaction with the man checking us in, regrettably I forgot his name because I waited too long to write a review but he made me and my husband laugh! Would stay here again :)

We loved our stay at Hotel Indigo! Everyone who works at the hotel is friendly and accommodating. The housekeeping team was very attentive and welcoming. Alexandria has so many great restaurants and shops and the location of this hotel is ideal to enjoy all of those. Plus views of the Potomac and location to the waterfront was an added bonus. We will be back!

Great location, clean rooms, but the service could use some help in regards to the parking. Also, not all Hotel Indigos are the same. I've stayed at 5 different ones and this is on the nicer side.

If you like a lefty town this is your place to go.
The restaurants in town are fantastic if you have the coin (inflation) $80+ for breakfast at the hotel for two and $100+++ for dinner out.
BUT you can find good stores and they have ice cream too (not left Starbucks or Ben & Jerry’s).
The staff at the hotel is top notch and super accommodating to the Karin’s of the world so enjoy your time there and NO TAX ON TIPS!!!

Great location, beautiful rooms and friendly service! Special kudos to Alla, Assistant General Manager, who quickly and professionally turned a temporary check in service glitch into a fun and delightful experience for our group and others! Well done! Will definitely return!
