Oh gosh the pupusas here are the absolute best in the area. For sure! I've eaten pupusas at nearly every place in town. Many of them are just ok and few have been very good. But El Paisa is consistently phenomenal! I don't know how they do it and I watch them do it! It's fun watching them make the pupusas and the smell is unbelievable. It smells like being in Nana's house as she was cooking. I'm Mexican, so I didn't grow up eating pupusas, but the flavors are very similar with the refried beans and cheese and spicy chili sauce. They are a small operation so please visit them and order as much as possible. Keep them in business because I need those pupusas to keep on coming.

The store is good because they sell everything and the owner and her son are super friendly, unfortunately the staff that serves them is super bad, they think they are the owners. Today I went to bring some tortillas, I can barely get them a piece of paper to pack them, they don't ask the If you want a bag or not, they are almost thrown away, they give them to you as if they were a gift, you are going to ask for one, the owner apologizes for the comment, but she has to correct her workers.

Hands down the best pupusa we’ve ever had!!! We can’t wait to go back and try more. Amazing Latino food in the DMV area, definitely the best we’ve had since we moved here

Best pupusas we've ever had! We had our go-to place in Colorado and these truly blew them out of the water. We can't wait to go back and try more! Jose was so incredibly friendly and accommodating. He allowed us to try their sweet empanadas as well (plantain filled) and they were sooooo delicious! I would include photos in this review, but we ate it all too fast :)

One of the best Latino food spots in the dmv area! With different tasty varieties of food it’s one of my favorite places to visit when I’m in the Del Ray area. Also, an amazing grocery store to visit for Hispanic foods and more. Be sure to spot by!

I love el Paisa, authentic Salvadorian food, their pupusa are made to perfection, their homemade drinks are outstanding, highly recommend, I have been coming here for years and their customer service is prompt and food is done in a timely manner. We recently purchased food for my staff and we were all extremely satisfied with the outcome

Had a very bad experience today at your location . I had ordered some food and I told you workers if they can make my order one of them told me that her helper was going to make my order and they were going back and fourth to say who was going to cook the food.. I was there for 15 minutes and none of them took my order I was very disappointed I have been your customer for many years and I live around the area and enjoyed the food but with this experience I don’t think I will be coming back I feel like your staff needs to treat better and be more professional once it comers to Greet customers ….. if they don’t want to work they should be working ..
