A bit expensive but worth the service

I have never felt as compelled to provide a review. I had a terrible experience from the start to the finish (I should say some of my issues remain unresolved because I’ve never received a reply despite several emails requesting attention to the installation issues). My fabric was on backorder for months with no communication initiated by calico (I reached out occasionally). Then when I sought a refund the shades were miraculously in production- which I don’t believe to be the case because they weren’t actually delivered until about 16 weeks later (lead time is quoted as 10-12 weeks). They were eventually installed and are wrinkled and puckered. And from the outside they look industrial and unfinished at the top. The cordless mechanism is fussy on all shades. For over $1000 a shade, I am terribly unsatisfied and even less satisfied that nobody from Calico has followed up despite three requests. Save your money and go somewhere that’s cheaper and offers better service.

The Calico workroom did a lovely job however my installation experience was not done well at all. The draperies are rumpled, wrinkled, uneven at the floor. The installer whined about wanting to retire (he’s been “trying” to quit for 6 months and they won’t let him), that he didn’t want to climb a ladder, that his steamer wouldn’t work, that the workroom messed up etc etc.Additionally, the “designers” are really just computer input workers. They lack the design experience and expertise to properly advise.I would NOT recommend using Calico because even if the draperies end up well constructed, they will look terrible.I have to have a different installer come out and re hang these, and they may need hemmed because they’ve been hanging at the wrong angle and the fabric is now lax.

I have a pair of Italian Rococo chairs that needed a more modern look. While the demand for the work of Calico is tremendous and there will be delays, they are maestros with fabric, texture, and working with delicate antiques. I highly recommend them.

What can I say. If you need interior design reupholstering this is the company look no further. The selection of textiles is beautiful and can only be upstaged by the staff. The sales people are wonderful and attentive. But the crown jewel is the manager. Upon entering the store Keisha gave me a warm welcome. She introduced me to the sales staff showed me around the store and even it may recommendations for the types of textiles I should be considering. Beautiful fabrics. Excellent workmanship. Poor customer service. They rarely answer the phone at this location. And voicemails are ignored, necessitating sometimes multiple trips to the store to try to resolve the simplest of questions. Although there are always staff on hand, they refer all questions to the store manager, refusing to even look up your account information in their system. If the store manager is unavailable, they'll tell you she'll call you back. She doesn't. And when the store manager is there, she promises to follow up with you (always "next Tuesday'") and then doesn't. We've been trying without success to resolve an issue with an order we placed six months ago, finally resorting to calling corporate for help. I've been a loyal repeat customer, spending thousands of dollars at a time at this location. But it's time to take my business elsewhere!Service: Furniture upholstery

We have had multiple upholstery jobs with this store. They have good selection and work with quality craftspeople. The work gets done, eventually, but the store overall is bizarrely frustrating to work with. The manager seems to be the only person authorized to do anything, whether it is design consultation or checking order status. There are staff, but they always defer to the manager. Once the manager has control of all possible issues, she proceeds to mishandle them, with delays, non-responsiveness, and repeated unkept promises of action. We have had an open issue involving a credit for months, and we literally have to walk in the place to talk to them, because they never answer the phone. As a design professional myself, I have no patience with vendors who make everything harder than it has to be.

I purchased fabric in February to recover cushions for my sofa I was told that the fabric would take about six weeks and the work room would take another six weeks. After waiting for 3 months I called and checked in on when I could pick up my cushions. I was told oops your fabric is on backorder. so sorry we didn't call you, you fell through the cracks but your fabric is coming in June. My fabric finally came in and I was told that the work room would take about 6 weeks. It has been over 2 months and once again I am still waiting on my cushions. When I called once again I was told so sorry you fell through the cracks the person waiting on you left so it isn't anyone's fault that we didn't call you but your cushions are not ready, we don't know when they will be and the work room is closed we can call you back in four days and let you know where you are on the list... Each time I called the person I dealt with was not very nice. The last time I called I ended up getting upset because the sales person kept interrupting me. I have only left one negative review in all my years. I grew up in retail and have always tried to work out problems with the business but this time the staff was so rude and the service has been so poor that I want to warn others to be careful when using this company.

We ordered customized Roman shades and bay window seat cushion. The fit, installation, fabric and quality was first-rate. Cathy, one of the designer consultants, was very helpful, friendly, and professional. The finished products were not cheap but they are quality products that enhanced our living space.

If I could give them negative stars I would. In my 35 years of doing business with furniture/upholstery stores I have never dealt with worse bunglers, ruder treatment l, and such gouging prices. I probably had 75 interactions and still haven't received my order from last Halloween. $20,000 later. They put my trims on the wrong cornices they overcharged me three times as much as other people and they never delivered the goods. Still waiting. Its one excuse after another. if that's your idea of having fun decorating your home then this is the place for you
