Absolutely fantastic experience & value. Go to Anita or to this salon in general! I should start by saying that I've always been a boring haircut girl and that I'm anxious about too much length being cut off. Anita gave me the best cut that flatters my face while keeping the length overall but also gave me a good style.

I heartily recommend Sarah and the entire staff at Blown the Salon and would give them six stars if that were possible. The salon is a warm, welcoming, and overall happy place. Sarah is a talented stylist and colorist and keeps my curly hair looking better than I ever thought possible.

Sarah is amazing I have lived in VA for over 10 years and it took me 8 to find her. My hair is wavy after chemo. I like the option to wear it wavy or straight. Sarah offers the perfect cut every single time. When I asked for the Modern "Rachel" cut, she didn't even laugh at me she just started cutting and it was perfect. She is also just a good person and fun to talk to. Kathy also gives the best scalp massages during washes. If you need colo or a curly or straight cut, DO NOT HESITATE! Call Sarah up now!

Diondra is awesome! She fixed my hair from a bad cut I had a several months back and I love what she did!! I left feeling so confident and pretty! She cuts my son’s curly hair as well and has been the only one to get it right with his hair. Highly skilled and knows what she’s doing.

I am obsessed with this salon!!! I went to Diondra to get my hair curled and styled for my wedding rehearsal dinner. She exceeded every expectation. I didn't feel rushed, we had great conversation, and my hair looked incredible all night long. I can't recommend this place and Diondra enough. The vibe in the salon is also adorable with a quirky, homey feel. Look no further for a place to get your hair done!

As a curly hair female I feel that I have been looking for a salon that truly knows my hair type my whole life! Finally (after countless bad haircuts and tons of money spent on products) I know that I have found a home at Blown Salon for my curls! Diondra Hall was professional, skilled, and made me feel comfortable. The salon itself had a vibe and energy that just made you feel just as good! I will definitely keep coming back! ???

Top notch business with fabulous service and talented staff. Kathy did a great job on my hair despite the fact that I had to have her fix the back because it was uneven at first. Overall I'm super happy with my hair and look forward to going back!

Great location and very friendly staff. I walked in with a last-minute need for a blowout and they were fantastic about squeezing me in. Sarah styled my hair and it was absolutely gorgeous! Blown is in a more “historic” part of town so the building doesn’t have the look or feel of an upscale salon, but the experience is still worth it. Be aware you’ll have to deal with Old Town street parking, so arrive early for your appointment. I do also wish there had been a bit more price transparency (the website lists $50 for a blowout but styling will run you an extra $20).

I am upset writing this review, because my experience with Anita cutting my hair was truly awful. I am including two pictures: the first picture is of the cut and style that I asked Anita to do for me. The second picture is the result. As you can see, the haircut I got is no where close to the same universe as the cut that I showed her and asked for. She essentially took her scissors, cut a straight line across cutting off 6 inches of my long hair, and then cut another straight line for bangs. She attempted to style it in a manner to hide what a poor job she did, but I was horrified right away. When I asked her to attempt to salvage the damage she had done, she got an attitude with me and said that I could leave if I wasn’t happy. Not sure if she was having a bad day or was running late but no one should be treated this way. I hope no one has to experience what I did. Thankfully, I was able to find someone tomorrow to fix what she did.

If you have short hair - you MUST go see April!! Honestly the first time I've gotten a cut in a LOOONG time where the dresser knew how to cut short hair well - she asked the right questions to make sure it fell correctly, and understood how important keeping some weight is in getting your hair to lay flat. Great communication and great cut - can't wait to go back!
