I can’t say enough how wonderful Janet is as a trainer. Her approach to working through training challenges is great. First, she really listens to what you say. But then she elevates it to the next level using her experience to know the questions to ask to further help you understand what you’re experiencing with your dog. She offers multiple resolutions as you work with her to figure out the best way forward for you and your dog. And best of all her instructional advice is easy to understand and follow. I found that especially helpful as I’ve found after other classes I couldn’t remember the steps I needed to follow and ended up frustrated. Finally, Janet’s calm demeanor helped remove a lot of stress I was putting on myself. This led to both my dog and me being more successful!

My dog and I had a great experience with Janet. We opted for private lessons and I had goals in mind. Janet was incredibly helpful explaining approaches, how dogs understand, and simple communication techniques. She also considered what locations might serve us for learning new things. I feel like my dog and I are in sync and am so grateful for her insight, humor, and expertise. I highly recommend Janet!

Janet was great to work with. She’s very professional, friendly and most importantly knowledgeable about dogs! She listened well when I described the issues I needed help with my dog, and she tailored our sessions accordingly. It was not a one size fits all approach; she really took into account our circumstances. My dog is so much better behaved on walks and I know how to handle situations that would have previously have gotten out of hand.

We asked Janet to help us with our dog on walks. She would bark and lunge at any dog when she couldn’t say hi. Her behavior seemed aggressive to other owners, which didn’t help. We knew she just wanted to say hi, but didn’t know how to train away the behavior.Janet helped us and Brookie so much. She’s a very different dog on walks now. Each lesson built upon the next and Janet even answered our questions unrelated to the reason we first came to her. She was available to us and taught us a lot about things to look for in Brookie’s behavior that have really helped us.Janet understands dogs and is able to work with what you want/need. Would recommend.

Janet did a phenomenal job helping me train my dog who had some unique issues. She was extremely knowledgeable and responsive to all my questions and gave very intelligent solutions to help improve my dog's behavior. I recommend her to anyone needing insights to improve their pets behavior and/or anyone who simply wants to be a better pet owner in general. 5 out of 5!

We worked with Janet to help train and learn about our new 9 week old puppy. Though we watched tons of videos and read a lot about how and what to do - the personalized training session with Janet was very beneficial. I highly recommend Janet and getting a personal session for your dog. She was very knowledgeable and patient with us and our puppy.

High quality, compassionate, knowledgeable!We have been searching for a rescue dog and came across the profile of one that we thought would be a good fit. I wanted to be sure we had a trainer lined up and had some questions. Because of her reviews, I emailed Janet with questions and confirming her availability. Janet called me within an hour and took ample time to discuss behaviors, options, and confirm her availability. She has an awesome Youtube channel. She is taking all COVID-19 precautions. She is a wealth of information. We didn't end up adopting the dog, but when we find the right dog we will certainly be calling Janet. Thank you so much!

Janet is fantastic. She really knows how to tailor the information to the dog and person at-hand. My young dog still has a puppy-brain (can only maintain attention for so long), and she did a great job in trying multiple methods until she found one that worked for him. She also thinks through not only the obedience side of things, but also the practical side -- survival skills like being able to grab his collar in an emergency. Can't recommend her enough! I'll also add that she was extremely careful in the age of this pandemic - I felt completely comfortable working with her.

Janet is wonderful! After rescuing a bulldog x basset hound with multiple behavioral issues, I sought out her services at the recommendation of my veterinarian. First of all - it speaks volumes for a behaviorist to be recommended by a veterinarian. Secondly, Janet used her expertise to help me formulate a plan to help my pup to be successful both at home and the vet. He struggled with feeling threatened in small spaces and she gave us expert advice that we were able to put into practice to make him more comfortable. She also emphasized actions I could take to help my dog - which is a crucial part of helping a dog with behavior issues. 10 out of 5 stars! If you have a dog who needs some basic obedience training or help with behavioral modification, best behaved dogs can help! Bonus pic of me and my happy boy on Halloween.

The lessons we had with Janet were really helpful. I especially liked Janet's emphasis on teaching me how to train my dog so I could continue to improve my dog's behavior between lessons. Walking with my dog Marla is easier now that she knows how to heel.
