i'll guess i'll start with this as a story (my testimonial if you will) so i had just moved from front royal to alexandria in the fifth grade of elementary school (yeah with mrs brown with her catch phrase save the drama for your mama and in hindsight maybe learning it could be a 'sanctuary city') my parents and i were looking for some cleats for weight league football (it was the bucknell tigers i think 75lb the next up from 'ankle biters' as a offensive lineman) and i found a pair that i thought after that all my troubles would be gone (later getting my military benefits that solved basically everything) so today i have my military benefits (eg paycheck healthcare health insurance etc) and am a mostly happy worry free veteran (a huge part as a kid was mil beneficiary kids in public school guiding me to maybe a better future to hear warnings or suggestions too) maybe things like those cleats helped me get to where i am today (home owner too and a pretty good car that i have to pay off) it was actually a red pair of baseball cleats but i wore them for a few games and got my parents money's worth out of it and met a neighboring business in the process and they were warm gracious and kind and realso there's three personalities (i think those are all the 'old heads' here) i like here a korean veteran a light skinned manager and a black female cashier they're all very helpful and charming and inject style and taste to this place with good personalities and good attitudesso through the years i've had some great times here for example i remember once before i left for the army i found a awesome unisex leather jacket (it was dark red and had stitches all up the back and may have been a little like brad pitt in fight club before rethinking if that was a good movie or not) while i was rock and roll skinny (btw there were many things i saw here that i wanted that i was certain would help me i don't know if it was the kindness of charitable donors or social workers community efforts to guess but there's been times where their selection really nailed it) later when i was about to move to luray i found another leather jacket that was pretty chill um it reminded me of a picture of a newer music group i saw twice the orwellsone story was when i was on cavalier drive which is sort of a famous neighborhood in a way that's where there's some long term locals at like i think the founder of the 29 skate crew thing so i saw one family (the wife of a couple who lived really long) would regularly come here and load up with that in mind what i later thought was if it works for them it'll work for me so when i was having my awesome lively artistic days on the block (regular dc nightlife or hobbies too ergo family barbeque movies i shot) i'd come here and load up on some stuff to bring home sometimes just the novelty of it but there were times where i'd really read into it and think 'this is a great deal' 'this looks like this will actually work' 'this is really thought provoking' 'this'll probably circulate and it'll get used' 'yeah that makes sense' 'that saves me some time' 'this is better than the alternative'there could be a lot of good aspects and traits (firm prices quality goods rarities um) here that i appreciated i found some vinyl records for exampleam vets are by the fort hunt neighborhood and the newer costco i've rode my bicycle here before it's farther from outside the gate of fort belvoir it's off rt 1 it's on sherwood hall lane also it's by some section 8 housing and a church and police department too and the library is further outi've donated here before and thought that was probably rewarding too also the military style here is cool to think of that influence some korean things i really like are the barbeque another would be the celeb irwin winkler he did rocky

The times that I've gone here there has been a pretty good selection of clothes, household items, furniture, and other miscellaneous stuff. Even though it's under another name I believe they're affiliated with AmVets and will do home pickup of big furniture items people want to donate, which is great! Store is pretty well organized, they keep the floor well stocked and offer some nice promotions. A lot cheaper and better than most goodwills these days.I can also tell this thrift store is pretty good because of the bad attitude of staff working here, no matter what, no matter who you interact with, no matter when or what you're trying to buy. I don't know what the hourly pay rate is for this place so I can't fault them actually. People working here are tired and fed up with you before you even approach them with a question and there's one cashier lady who may be the most unhappiest person I've ever interacted with. No matter what you do when you approach her with your items at the front, you're doing it wrong and she's going to let you know about it. Despite that I frequently think about coming back here from time to time and that folks, is a true sign of a good thrift store.

Been visiting this store since 1999. Lately their is a young male staffer who don’t give senior citizen discount. When complained to another staffer then she said I should tell them in advance that I am one. In the past no body told to do that and only the mobile number was enough to decide that.

Nice place for ' treasure hunting' .Issue is with this new manager who is so arrogant. Staff in general need some inservice on customer care especially at checkout register.Toilets are also very inhygienic and need an update.

Everything was very good, except for this person being rude to me. She should be banned from this store.

I was pleasantly surprised. The building, although clean, could use an interior refresh-renovation. The merchandise is in excellent shape and item choices are very good. Definitely worth visiting and donating to.

Tacky place. Don't purchase items, but marks items too high. They need to edit their hours on google. It says they open at 9am, but store has a sign posted that says opens at 10am.

Not the greatest. I've been to my fair shares of thrift stores and this one sucks. I've gone several times as my husband and I were looking for dresser. 3 different occasions in a 3 week time period we went and there was a dresser sitting on the store floor that said sold and waiting for pick up but each time we went it had not moved or was even sold. We have dropped off items before no-issue but today were told we were not allowed to drop our clothes, or small desk (no furniture) BUT another gentleman walked up placed his large chair and small night stand and the guy told him I'm gonna look away just leave your stuff. If it's no furniture be consistent and have signs because the entire drop off area had furniture, clothes, a dinning room set and many other items.baside from the inconsistent drop off the store here just seems expensive and trashy for second-hand items. I think the good will and 2nd Ave down the road have better items and prices

Great prices and good selection! One of my go to thrift stores. Super friendly staff as well! They also have great deals and sales often. If you like thrifting you have to check this place out!!

Full of sports equipment, china, and middle to high end clothing items in great condition. We have fun hunting for golf treasures here. Tons of Greek life and southern comfort t-shirts, typical for the area. It's not super clean, but also not highly trafficked. That's probably why we are able to find a few gems each time.
