Blind Spot waning system not working, Dealership verbally committed to first checking the settings inside the car to make sure the feature was not simply turned off, but failed to do what they committed to. I was charged $169.00 for the diagnosis despite the Airbag and Blind spot systems being covered at the time under factory warranty. I was told that the diagnosis fee was imposed because the battery was no longer under warranty. I did not request a battery check and knowing my neighborhood mechanic, AutoZone, AdanceAuto and many other establishments check battery strength free of charge.I was charged for a Virginia state inspection and provided a receipt stating the inspection was performed and that it "failed". Dealer was just attempting to sell an overpriced taillight. That gas station performed an inspection at my request, with the vehicle passing all tests. The dealership attempted to overcharge for the oil and filter service performed and my vehicle was at the dealership on time for the scheduled appointment on 8/28/23 and no work was done until the following day because the dealership has set up self scheduling for service on its web site in such a way that it does not match appointments with technician capacity. There is no limit. Horrible Service center. Beware.

I made an appointment on Sunday for the following Saturday morning. I arrived early, was told my car "might not be seen" and had to pry for an estimate on the diagnostic. After some pushing, and inconsitent information, I was told my car would be third to be seen and I should expect a call in two hours or so. About an hour later, I receieved a call that my car was fine despite me telling them the problem was intermittent. They told me I would need to to video tape the problem. (Horn doesn't sound). They were prepared to charge me $190. Fortunately, they did wave the fee, but the experience was a waste of time and leaves me looking for a diagnosis elsewhere. This was not my first negative experience there, just the most egregious.

Service department is trash, hands down worst experience I've ever had with a dealership. I recently bought a new Tiguan. The AC is malfunctioning. They tell me to drop off and they might get to it this week. I guess I'm used to BMW and getting a loaner if it takes more than a day. Not only will I be out a vehicle but they're saying it's probably not covered under the warranty. Just all around the poorest of customer service I've ever experienced. Can't wait to trade this POS in and never deal with VW again. Not sure if it's just this location or the entire company. A piss poor experience overall, if I could give zero I would.

My wife and I had a great experience purchasing her new vehicle here. Sam and Mohammed helped us throughout a smooth process. The Manager was reasonable with the trade in value and the financing department ( Jasmine ) was extremely friendly. I walked out with a better interest rate than I was expecting. If you need to get a new vehicle. I highly recommend you visit Sam or Mohammed for a quick and smooth transaction. Great Job

I would give zero stars if that was an option. Buyers beware--I purchased a new-ish vehicle from this dealership for my daughter about a month ago. The check engine light as well as the tire pressure indicator came on AS I WAS DRIVING THE CAR HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP........They took the car back for service and found out that there was battery acid leaking all over many important cables as well as a fault code for a camshaft position sensor. The service advisor admitted that there was obviously "several important things that were missed when the car was inspected" before it was allowed to be put up for sale. Additionally, they said they checked the tire out and that it was fine. A day later, the tire pressure light comes back on, and two weeks later, the check engine light comes back on--I call and they get the car back in for service. This time, they want to charge me $1400 for a repair that they can't guarantee was an issue along with all of the others when I purchased the car. Additionally, it turns out, there IS a nail in the tire that they neglected to check the last time. This place is SO dishonest. I decided that if I was going to have to pay for the repair, I'm not giving another dime to this sloppy, unprofessional place. Took the car to German Automotive. Their quote came in $300 cheaper and they were super courteous and professional. I definitly would avoid Wes Greenway Automotive at all costs. They are crooks.

We purchased our used 2020 VW Tiguan from VW Alexandria in September of 2022 and still regret it. When purchasing the vehicle, we noticed that the moonroof has its moulding bent and deformed, so they told us it will be replaced. After a few days, we went to pick up our vehicle, and the moulding was not replaced and just forced in, so the moonroof would close properly. After another week we picked up our vehicle with replaced moulding...A few months after the vehicle started having a metal-to-metal sound coming from the engine's lower side only when idling, so we took it back to VW Alexandria since it was still under warranty. At first, the technician could not hear the noise, so we went to the dealer and listen to it together. The technician was able to hear the noise and took back the vehicle for another look. A few days later we were told the noise is normal and there was nothing to worry about. I asked if we could compare our vehicle to another and the dealer agreed. We went back and compared our vehicle with another customer's, and the noise wasn't there. Technician told us he will have another look and the service advisor started to argue with us and said that there was nothing he can do. We explained that our vehicle should not be "special", and it should sound like all other 2020 VW Tiguans they have on their lot, but he still argued and replied with "What do you want me to do?". We continued to explain that his department should be the one to know what to do in this kind of situation. After we refused to pick up our vehicle before it was serviced, we sent two official complaints to VW Corporate and we were not heard from there as well. After a few days we received a call from the service manager and suddenly, he told us that the vehicle does not have any abnormal noise, even though their technician has heard the noise and tried to diagnose it. After arguing for a little bit, we realized that we were lied to and fooled into buying this vehicle. Do not go there!!!

I scheduled an appointment with Sascha and from the moment he walked up to me, I felt comfortable. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicles and more importantly about what I was looking for in a car. He was informative and walked me through every step. He was friendly and polite and answered all my questions. The entire car buying process can be intimidating, but Sascha made it seamless. I would absolutely recommend this dealership and ask for Sascha--he knows cars very well, and will meet you halfway to help you drive home your ideal car.

Easy one star for dishonesty and shady charges.I came in here for an oil change on 1/9/23 after scheduling my oil change online, using their $79.95 oil change coupon that they have on their website. After coming in and dropping my car off, I asked the gentleman at the front desk how much is it going to be. The amount he told me was about $125. After showing him my phone and the coupon on it, I told him that I had scheduled my service using the “schedule” button that is right on the top of the coupon and he said that he will change the price and that my car will be ready in about 2 hours. After picking up my car, I was still asked to pay around $125 (can’t remember the exact amount, but it was in that ball park). He showed me a slip of paper saying that the oil change is $79.95 but I have to pay about $45 for “taxes and shop supplies”. Terrible, shady practice. I told him that those charges are bogus, and make no sense, but I did pay for it because I didn’t want to create a scene and was in a rush anyway.Funny thing is, a friend of mine was changing oil on his VW just a week or two before. He tried to use the same coupon when paying, but they said that he had to present the coupon before the service was done and that it’s too late for them to honor it. Guess how much he got charged? Yes, $125. Long story short - these guys will charge you $125 for an oil change regardless, and will not honor a coupon that they advertise on their own website.Don’t plan on ever coming back here. I will rather drive 10 minutes more to the Springfield dealership and get the price advertised on their website.

I've owned VWs for 20-25 years and been using Alexandria Volkswagen on/off. It's gone downhill every year over the last decade or so. The heyday of the service department was under the leadership of a woman manager, who I wish still ran the place. Those were the five-star days.I do not recommend these days unless no other choice.. The most helpful people are those who are outside the service center directing customers where to park. As for the service center half the people who greet customers appear to be high and/or argumentative. Most don't want to problem solve -- often the answer to any question: we don't know and will need to charge you a fee to figure it out. A windshield wiper fixed? A radio replaced? Really? And the $190 " just to see see fee" doesn't apply to the service itself. It's a separate cost to labor and parts -- talk about robbing your customers. When you make appointments, they are just drop off times. The assumption is everyone either takes the metro or has somebody to drive them to and from ... anyone who is single plan to wait and wait. Making an appointment does not mean anything more than a time to drop off your car. Oil changes you cant make an appointment anymore. Your wait time can be hours which completely contradicts making an appointment when you are able to make one. Efficiency is not a word I would use to describe this service center. I've used other VW service centers in Virginia and Maryland and they all are leaps and bounds a better experience -- way more efficient, informative, customer, oriented and respectful. The last time my oil was changed, they forgot to reset the computer so I had to go back for what should be a standard checklist item upon completion of a job. I called to ask what i could do to fix it and was told it was complex. When I arrived in person, a technician showed me how easy it was to reset the computer. Holding two buttons for 10 seconds...This issue of my time being wasted/not factored into the equation is a theme. A burden feels constantly put on me when I do business here. That's why I give them two stars. For the prices they charge it should probably be a zero star.

My friend and I visited Wes Greenway's VW this afternoon, as I got out of the car with a bag of trash in my hand, I was approached by a tall man wearing a Marvel Sweatshirt and looked like Dave Chappelle's twin. He asked me if he could throw my trash away for me that I was holding. Stunned at this man's pleasant demeanor, I said thank you! He then introduced himself as a Sales Marketer named Sedeke. My friend and I are both socially awkward when in public. However, Sedeke, made our experience in test driving cars, so comfortable with his compassion for his customers. I highly recommend SEDEKE DUNZO. Personally, I dislike a lot of car salesmen, but this guy was awesome, friendly, professional and welcoming.

I purchased a vehicle from WG'sAV and the experience was fairly typical of the other car buying experiences I've had until the financing. The nasty attitude of the rude young lady handling my deal was the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with taking delivery of a new car. She also screwed up the DMV paperwork during the financing that resulted in me having to go to the DMV to get the errors corrected. I was told by the sales team there have been several recent complaints concerning this persons behavior towards their buying customers and that the owner of the dealership was made aware of my complaint and would be contacting me about my experience. I gave him plenty of time to contact me but I never heard from Chris Greenway who was there at the time of my purchase. So here ya go! She is a really bad look on this dealership and they know it because the salesman admitted to it but the the Greenway's overlook it. I say take your business where you won't have this same experience. Theres currently at lack of professionalism at this dealership and It always starts at the top!

Price gouging "unicorn cars" to take advantage of customer. 15k markup on cars for "market demand". Sticking with Lindsay Volkswagen who know how not to disrespect customers with absurd predatory pricing. Don't tell em you "can't" even give the not-really-a-deal MSRP and it's to "protect" against a buyer reselling a vehicle for profit. That's on the customer. They just want to get their bigger price of the pie at my expense. If a local buyer walks in and a car is available, allow them the courtesy of treating them like a valued buyer. I feel bad for the chump who pays 62k for a Golf R.You know what is being charged for these sports editions of your cars. It's pretty clear that going above MSRP is conveyed as some kind of deal.

Alexandria VW does not take their customers' concerns seriously, laughs in their faces, and engages in questionable business practices. Please heed the following tips:(1) Do yourself a favor and look for a different dealership. Unfortunately, picking a VW dealer in the DMW area is like choosing between the plague and cholera based on the reviews. (2) Take photos of your vehicle before it goes in for service. The dealership does a poor job marking damage on the car before it goes into the shop and once it is in there you have no way to check whether their mechanics caused any damage to the vehicle. In this particular case, the car was plausibly damaged in the shop, a suspicion that was strengthened by the staff's response when pressed about the possibility of the car being damaged by their mechanic. "These things never happen! Your car got hit! Your car has damage all over!" Based on other reviews, Alexandria VW damages cars and does not own up to their mistakes.(3) Take your car to a shop that will assess any damages or malfunctions without charging you $174 if it turns out the issue is not under warranty. You are at the mercy of unscrupulous people who are happy enough to take your money simply for plugging your VW into their computer. At least, they kept saying that is all they did... Again, look at other reviews that detail the poor workmanship at Alexandria VW and show their mechanics do not always go by the book, as the service manager kept claiming.I cannot stress enough how poorly the service representative (Mr. Perez) and the service manager responded to my concerns. They kept insisting the only way the issue could have occurred is if the car got hit, which it did not. The issue arose spontaneously. The service manager literally said that in his experience issues with the front assist systems were always the result of the car getting hit. Seriously? Radar sensors and software on cars never malfunction? I will spare you the other falsehoods that had to pass for good advice that were thrown my way. Worst of all, Mr. Perez and the service manager on several occasions laughed in my face. The people at VW Alexandria played me for a fool. Then again, it was foolish of me to put my trust in this shady dealership.
