This is one of the most beautiful places I've seen in a long time. The intention here is so amazing. The staff is so caring and sensitive to the needs of the horses. They come first and I love that. You cannot just go and visit I don't think. I am volunteering and yesterday was my first day so I had the opportunity to go and actually feel an experience this place. It is mind-blowing! If you ever wonder about making a donation to a non-profit This is definitely one I would highly recommend. Thank you Hopes Legacy for being there and helping so many horses. ❤️

This is an incredible organization that I not only have been volunteering at but also attended a Veterans outing to. What they do for Horses, Donkeys and other animals is incredible and the staff is second to none! If you are looking to adopt, come here first!

My husband and I have adopted three horses from Hopes Legacy. Our horses are the best and a great fit for our family. The staff made sure our girls would be good for us and we’d be good for them. They are awesome!

Our organization, Risen Ridge Ministry, has adopted 3 horses from Hope's Legacy. As a lifelong horse woman, I can tell you that it can be very challenging bring horses back to health, not only physically, but mentally, too. The folks at HLER do it with great skill, compassion, and love. Their heart for helping horses is evident in everything they do. Such an amazing organization run by amazing people!

After submitting an application over a month ago I have had zero contact with this organization. Nothing. My farrier told me they contacted her so I know they received my information. it would have been nice to hear from them either way, yes or no. Very upsetting that I was willing and able to adopt and yet nothing came of it. I don't even know if I was considered.

This compassionate organization has stepped in and filled a necessary niche in Virginia's animal rescue space--often rescuing from "rescues." They have high standards and thoughtful criteria in place to ensure that they can provide exceptional care to their equines. They do a great job working with people and finding responsible homes for their adoptable horses and donkeys. On top of all of this, Maya and her volunteers also support other local business and nonprofits. 10 stars!

Maya took in 3 rescue horses and a donkey that lived next to our lot in Nelson, County VA. They were neglected, perhaps abused and starving. They had no shelter, minimal water access and many health issues. One, named Dakota is blind. Maya nursed them back to health, trained them to be riding/therapy horses and got all of them adopted. She is truly amazing!
