Tried calling two days in advance multiple times with no answers, figured I could rent in person, got there at 10 with the lights on and the open sign lit up. The door was locked and no one was home.

Beautiful trail. You can take the time you need and want for up to almost 50 miles, sounds great to me!

Very kind staff but after they quickly size the bike for you it is loaded on a trailer with the assumption they are in good working order. Of the two “comfort”bikes we rented one had a dragging rear brake that was so over adjusted to one side, so much that the bike would not free roll for more than 10feet w/o having to pedal again. I had to disconnect the rear brake to save my legs for rest of the ride. After disconnecting the breaks the rear wheel was so badly out of balance and wobbly it took away the enjoyment of the ride. I question if these bikes are maintained at all and for them to dump you out with them before a 30+ mile bike ride is terrible.

Friendly shop! Six of us rented bikes and took their shuttle to the top of Whitetop. It’s a bit of a drive from Abingdon, but Rick kept us entertained with area history and tips about the beautiful trail.

The entire trip was fantastic. All the guys in the shop were helpful from loading the bikes, the drive up, helpful information about the trail and even snapped a few pictures for us. Would absolutely recommend them.

Beautiful scenery but it's not a coast down the hill like I was told. The first 3 miles are nice with a gentle slope that requires the use of your hand brakes a few timesThe rest requires peddling and if your not in shape prepare to be extremely exhausted and sore. This is an ideal trial for the fit and for those with electric bikes.

Bike shop was good, bikes are pretty worn out, many had gears that slipped or did not work, shuttle service was good. It’s a long ride to the top and it was really cold up there, layer up and bring a backpack to store layers as temperature rises on the way down. The restroom at the top is very rustic, not many along the path either. If you are not an avid rider, used to sitting on a bike bike seat for a long time, stick to first half of trail. The second half, we learned, is slightly uphill and on gravel so be ready to pedal. In the end we were glad we did it but I would stick to the 17 mile part if I did it again. We did have a nice lunch at the Wicked Chicken in Damascus, that’s another review.

Very heartless, staff Ihad a really bad accident, was taken to the emergency and when my friend asked for assistance to return the bikes they responded that it was her problem, i believe that as expensive as the rentals are at least they should assist in an emergency. also they SHOULD make it mandatory that in order for people to rent a bike helmet also must be rented. cause it could save lives or very serious consequences.
