Dr, Richards is sweet and caring knowledgeable and responsive. She loves animals! The front staff at Kedron Valley is on top of everything: medication refills, food refills, appointment scheduling, and smiles for our dog. The lab techs are well trained and professional and handle our little old man gently and with respect. There seems to be good mentorship happening at Kedron Valley Vet, among all staff members. The atmosphere is gentle and kind and welcoming. I highly recommend Kedron Valley Vet and Dr. Richards!

We have no words to express my gratitude for the entire staff at KVVC in particular for DR. Meg F. and her assistants for all the love and support they gave to our beloved Lucy. We strongly recommend the KVVC not only because of their expertise but also for their kindness to all beings. Thank you for the bottom of our heart.

I don't really leave google reviews, but I just happened to see a 2 star review from a lady who says her dog's nails weren't trimmed properly when she came during a high volume time. Honestly, you have got to be kidding me, lady. This is one of very few animal clinics in this area - we have sick and dying pets and you are worried about your dogs nails?? Go to the dog salon for that. Sheesh.I'm so lucky that instead of worrying about dog nail length, Kedron Valley was able to get my cat in without any notice when she was displaying concerning symptoms. Turned out to be cancer. The doctor took the time to break the news to me gently, run multiple tests (after providing a quote), and answered all the questions I had both at that visit and afterwards. This was not my first time at Kedron Valley and the staff have always been prompt, respectful, and caring. We are so lucky to have such in-depth care for our pets nearby.

We do not live in Woodstock and made appointments with The Kedron Valley Vet to get our dog immunized against Lyme disease. Our first visit several weeks ago went well - the fill-in Saturday vet examined our dog and was very pleasant. Today's visit was different. The clinic was under duress due to several sick visits. That not-with-standing, the service was rushed and almost rude. And despite the duress, the front desk person still had plenty of time to make confirmation calls for Monday appts, always clearly stating the 24 hour cancellation policy. I, myself, received at least 2 calls and an email reminder about our vaccine appointment today. And before whisking my dog off for his vaccine, the vet tech matter-of-factly stated (did not discuss or ask) my dog was going to get a Lyme and heart worm test which I promptly declined. (My dog is on a heart worm preventative and is tested by our vet in Texas). I also asked for a nail trim which was very reluctantly done, rushed, and cost $30. Nails were trimmed minimally, given explanation about the quick being too long. The Saturday fill-in vet (not one of the practice owners) last month did a thorough nail trim with no quick story. That vet was not here today.I understand it may be tough to run a small business but this clinic leaves a bad impression. Service did not seem to be the first priority. In addition, one of our neighbors here, a long-time Woodstock resident, mentioned similar experiences when I mentioned we were taking our dog to Kedron Valley Vet for his Lyme vaccine. She was right. We will not be returning.

My wife brought our 2-year-old cat here for what appeared to be an upper respiratory issue. He was sneezing, coughing, and had some minor watering of the eyes. After examining our cat and listening to my wife describe these symptoms, Dr. Blakeley concluded that our cat had an eye infection (huh?) and required an expensive ophthalmic ointment. I've had eye infections and have had pets with them; there was literally nothing that would have led a reasonable person (never mind a doctor), to this conclusion. None-the-less that's what she came up with. This seemed so inappropriate to me that I called a veterinary friend of mine, described the symptoms and he immediately concluded that it was almost certainly the cat-equivalent of a cold, and virtually eliminated the possibility that any sort of ophthalmic ointment would have been appropriate. He said that the ocular system cannot drain into the sinus system, but the reverse can happen. Bottom line, there’s no way Dr. Blakeley’s diagnosis was correct. So now the real issue. I called and spoke with Dr. Blakely and thoughtfully and respectfully expressed my concern about her diagnosis. She agreed that it was probably a respiratory issue. She even stated that she put a dye into the cat’s eye and saw no evidence of any sort of eye issue. So, I suggested that she credit us back for the $98.15 worth of unnecessary ophthalmic ointment. She said that we had already taken it from their clinic so she wouldn’t take it back. Of course the only reason we took it from her clinic was because she failed to properly diagnose the issue. Also… when my wife went to pay the bill they tried to charge her the full amount of the visit plus-plus, even though she had prepaid for the appointment over the phone hours earlier, since that’s what they require for a first-time visit. The doctor also recommended that my wife purchase a $153 cat monitor that we didn’t need any more than the ophthalmic ointment. Fortunately, my wife didn’t buy it.So… caveat emptor if you walk into this clinic! They don’t appear to know the basics of veterinary medicine, but they do know how to sell stuff, and they’ll stand behind their misdiagnosis and excessive charges to the end.

Kedron Valley is an amazing practice with amazing people. They have the best bedside manner of any vet I have ever seen and I would never go to another clinic after visiting them. To dispute a negative review on here, they always fully inform me before any treatment or shots and even pull up a list of quotes BEFORE I say yes or no. They have even pulled up quotes for different options and gave me the pros and cons of each one. Nothing has ever been done without my fully-informed consent. In short, these guys are the best!
