Stayed on the way to Portland, Maine. Have passed by many times. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Excellent restaurant and bar. Will make this a regular stop from now on.Food & drinks: Excellent restaurant on site.

This place is a hidden gem in the deerfield valley. With a great restaurant (Clara's) and a speakeasy downstairs for after dinner entertainment, this place is fantastic. Check it out in the summer to see their English garden.

We had a great time in September when we stayed but not so much this weekend. Never again! The Innkeepers dropped the ball on service. We had very loud people (loudest we have ever heard in our lives, until after 1am) above us and texts to the managers went unanswered and I even used the “emergency” line, imagine if there was a real emergency. No response from them. Walk ways and stairs were not shoveled or salted, almost fell twice. And our room was so hot we couldnt sleep and the heat wouldn’t turn down. It was like literal hell.But the icing on the cake was when we checked out and the manager said “to leave the keys there”, never made eye contact and never asked how our stay was or “hope to see you soon”. NOTHING.Avoid this place like the plague!!!

What a wonderful place for R&R. So my wife and I went on a spare of the moment road trip to the New England states. My planned trip was to drive through southern Vermont and without any reservations to stay anywhere. It was getting dark out and driving though the mountains on Vermont Highway 9. As we drove out of Wilmington, my wife saw the White House Inn. She said that place looks really nice. As I turned around and drove up the driveway, the Inn is beautifully lit up with bright lights and made it look so inviting. We went inside and Gaby greeted us. She explained the Inn to us and what they had to offer with rooms. We decided to stay the evening and so happy we did. Our room was beautiful with old style furniture. The bathroom shower was updated with current fixtures and full luxury tile. We also enjoyed dinner at Clara's (please see my restaurant review). The next morning as we woke up, we saw a fabulous mountain view. I went downstairs to get coffee for us and was greeted by Tara. It was quiet and quaint. Breakfast was fantastic, sitting in a room with white table cloths. My wife and I ended up staying again 2 nights later. They have a great bar and the bartender Mike made us laugh. The Inn keeper, Adam, was the best. I can't express enough our gratitude and thankfulness to everyone at the White House Inn that made our stay so enjoyable. Although the White House Inn is a 14 hour drive from our home, it will be in our hearts and plan on going back and staying longer in the upcoming months.

The hotel is situated on the top of a hill, giving guests a great view of downtown Wilmington. The inn has a very charming environment, especially during the winter months, when the fireplaces around the common areas are lit. Within the hotel, there is a restaurant with a formal dining room, bar area with seating, and a separate room with a fireplace to sit and drink beverages. The hotel also has a basement speakeasy (no bar is in service there), which boasts a beautiful wine cellar (used for private events), a pool table, and another fireplace with plenty of seating.The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms were spacious, and wonderfully decorated. The food and service at the restaurant were also good (though a little slow). The White House Inn never disappoints. Our room was clean, inviting and the view was amazing! Everyone working there was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. We had drinks at the bar and dinner, followed by brunch the next morning and everything was delicious. We can't wait to come back soon!

Timeless and welcoming place to stay. The best brunch and or dinner you will ever have. A real home away from home stay with a lovely mahogany lounge downstairs to enjoy television or billiards. Spa services offered downstairs! The owners are most friendly and accommodating, fantastic hosts. Innkeepers are on point!

The moment you start the drive up the hill to the Inn you begin to step back in time. The views and grounds are all beautiful. The Inn was restored keeping all the original architecture and design. As you walk around the Inn, attention to detail of a bygone era is at every turn. The staff are very attentive and very professional. If you’re visiting Vermont and in this area, this is a must stop. Dinner a cocktail or a weekend getaway is a must.

What a fantastic old inn. Driven by many times and finally decided to stay here. Glad we did. The room was great. We had a fireplace and a deck. The restaurant offered delicious food. Also had a fun bar. It offered much charm. We'll be back.Nearby activities: Very close to downtown Wilmington VT with its many shops and great restaurants.Food & drinks: Fantastic, memorable food.

Wonderful place, beautifully furnished. Immaculate grounds and beautiful rooms. Actually had a paranormal experience when in our room #116, heard people walking above us all night long, and kids running back and forth. So I assumed there was a 3rd floor. At the continental breakfast that morning, I asked the girl in charge about having a 3rd level in the inn, and she said NO, just a attic.

We returned home today from a delightful 5 day stay at The White House Inn. Thank you Tara, and your fine team, for an especially special experience!It was our 3rd stay in the area at this time of year (late July). Specifically, we're there to visit Chris Darrow’s Olallie Daylily Gardens, in nearby South Newfane. Previously we'd stayed at the Four Columns Inn, another historic Inn/fine restaurant that's located in downtown Newfane. We were so saddened to learn that Andrea and her family had moved on from the establishment. And so we scoured the vicinity for a comparably charming Inn and restaurant, and found the White House Inn and Clara’s. We stayed in room #2, a lovely 2nd story suite of rooms - with a separate living room, bathroom, a king bedroom, and porch. We had an absolutely delightful stay, and look forward to visiting again next year!Thank you, Tara, for making our stay at the Inn so joyful. You are a very special host! Gifted in your bright spirit, patience, attention to detail, and thoughtful kindness toward the needs of your guests.Food & drinks: Excellent food!

Beautiful find! Cozy, comfortable, spacious. The fireplace in the room is a plus, as it’s still a little chilly at night. Nicely smelling toiletries. The real key to the door instead of digital card! Rocking chair on the patio with the views of forest, mountains and the beginning of the town. Great restaurant on the site, huge parking lot, breakfast included tomorrow morning, town is 3 mins away, golf course is about 8 mins. Nice one night stay, but I’d gladly spend a couple of days here. Beware of the very thin walls - we could hear everything.

Had an amazing time at the White House Inn! The room was gorgeous and really comfortable after a long day of skiing at Stratton. The restaurant had delicious food and the breakfast in the morning was great as well. Will definitely come back!
