“This was a perfect venue for my baby shower. Joe was great to work with. He checked in a few times to make sure all was going well. The heater for the space worked well to warm up the space on a cool November afternoon.”

“Great price for location. Close to Burlington and Montpellier. Sheets and bathroom were clean. I needed something printed last minute and the front desk rep, I believe her name was Srijane was very helpful and accommodating.”

“I took my family here when we took an overnight trip to Burlington. There is so much to see and do. This place is packed with opportunities to learn for people of all ages they had a science of flight exhibit where kids could make and launch paper airplanes. It was incredible how much you could learn about the lake and what lives in it. I highly recommend taking kids and making a day or two of a trip here.”

“Service was friendly and quick, seating was comfortable, and ordering food and drinks was convenient. The best part, though, was the energy - enthusiasm and inclusivity on the part of both the performers and the audience.”

“Everything I’ve bought has been absolutely delicious. The roasted vegetable enchiladas I had last night were especially yummy-wish I had bought 2! Everyone loved it.The people are wonderful and it is super easy to order ahead & pick up or walk in. It’s fun to go and see all the many options. AND lots & lots of gluten free options-hooray!”

“We've seen both movies from Vermont International Film Festival, and plays from Vermont Stage. Great seating and sound. The monthly Tuesday film series is back, too!”

“I stopped in for breakfast and ordered a breakfast quesadilla, which for a quesadilla, had far too little cheese. The restaurant was clean and appealing, the service was warm and friendly, but the flavor just wasn't there. The food was decent, just very bland.”

“The new Arts Riot is vastly improved! Stop in for a fun, unique cocktail, an app (we had delicious fried Artichoke with "fancy yogurt") and pizza. We had a slice of local mushroom pizza and a more traditional pepperoni. Taste buds are dancing! I even ate all my crusts (very unusual for me). So glad we stopped in to check out the new situation. A+. We'll be back.”

“We were very satisfied with our 1-night stay. The upgraded (1 bedroom suite with full kitchen) room was clean, comfortable, and modern. Cathy at the front desk was an absolute pleasure to work with when our key stopped working the morning of checkout, and again when we were heading out. My only gripe is to do with the shower: the water pressure on the 4th floor (at one of the ends, #401) is not very good. We would definitely stay here again.Rooms: Love love love the gas fireplace.Food & drinks: The complimentary breakfast is pretty standard stuff - eggs, sausages, waffles, breads with jam/pb/nutella, cereal, some fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, and coffee.Noteworthy details: We were delighted to check into the hotel and get all the way to our room without interacting with a single human (digital key), but perplexed that the hotel has disabled the key sharing function in the Bonvoy app which meant only one phone could open the room.”

“Actually, I have stopped in here twice so far since I've been in Vermont. Both times, I have had the fish and chips. It is a good-sized portion of fish, and the chips are delicious!”

“This space is a true oasis in the middle of the hustle of downtown Burlington. It is intimate, yet spacious, versatile and comfortable. I've had the opportunity to both offer and receive healing classes here and it truly is divine.”

“Lovely atmosphere and staff. We really enjoyed the bluegrass in the loft. (It was full but they found us a table after a no show and were super nice about it.)There are good wine and cider options, some better than others. I tried the white wine flight and was pleasantly surprised.”

“We held a hybrid conference at UVM in August 2022. The UVM event services team was TOP NOTCH! They pivoted quickly to all of our requests, provided excellent service to our participants, and handled all of the logistics without a single issue. The tech team enabled us to livestream both in-person and virtual presenters, and provided high-quality recordings. The venue was the perfect gathering place for our participants to mingle in a post-pandemic environment. The food services were high-quality. Our experience was great and we highly recommend UVM Event services to anyone interested in hosting a large-scale conference or event. Thank you!”

“I’m a disabled UVM student and I’ve been to many shows at Higher Ground. Whether I’ve gone on forearm crutches or in my wheelchair, Higher Ground has been very accommodating and helpful every time I go. I always feel safe to watch in the crowd. I really appreciate having an accommodating venue near campus!”
