This is an adorable and cozy hotel. The beds are soft and comfortable to sleep in. Rooms are clean and a perfect size to keep your things in while you are out hiking and biking in the area. Shower was hot eith good pressure. There is complementary breakfast in the morning (local and organic yogurt/granola, waffles, pastries, fruit, even some gluten free options!). The coffee was delicious. It is no frills and the exact vibes for an earthy Vermont trip. Had a great time using the fire pit on the patio well into the night. Sipping coffee in the reading nook was the perfect way to start the day.
This isn't a huge or fancy corporate hotel. It is a place that is filled with love and Steve works hard to keep it so. Due to some health emergencies we missed check in time and wouldn't be arriving until midnight. Steve still made sure we could get into our rooms. He had breakfast ready early so we could get to the pre-wedding activites on time. He is polite, respectful and a diligent worker. As a solo traveling lady I was very comfortable staying here.
Walkable to local businesses and a Shaw's for easy shopping. 3 minute car ride (easy 15-20 min walk) to a local bike rental shop and downhill bike trails as well as a river to cool off in.

If you are looking for a clean no frills accommodations this is a good choice. Continental breakfast was a small variety of organic choices including a large selection of teas and good tasting coffee. Inn included a large game/reading room and is conveniently located in Waitsfield.
It is my opinion, that in an industry of high competition, it is extremely important to concentrate on details that set you apart from the competition. These details include excellent customer service, quality amenities in your room, comfortable seating/bedding and a well-maintained property. If you can concentrate on the details and think outside the box you can rest assured, you will entice customers to return---thus the 3.5 rating.

We loved our time at the Waitsfield Inn! Within walking distance of everything in town made it super convenient, and coming back to get coffee or a snack in the middle of the day was definitely a perk. The Inn was very well kept, with plenty of cozy nooks and crannies to relax in. Breakfast in the mornings was especially thoughtful and convenient. Thank you for making our eclipse trip so special!

Had an amazing long weekend at the Waitsfield inn! Steve the inn keeper is so attentive, and willing to help in any way he can. The lounge room is awesome to end the night by the fire, with a drink, playing some games. The inn is 1 minute from Lawsons, and 10 minutes from sugarbush, location is prime!

Great spot. Stayed here several times and really enjoyed it. It's clean and well run. The place has a cool vibe; there's a spacious fireplace room downstairs for a cocktail and a chat w like-minded fun enthusiasts.
Steve is a great host, very kind, responsive, reasonable and easy-going. I even double booked once for a weekend and they very generously gave me a credit (they didn't have to; it was my mistake).
The rooms are comfortable. Not a lot of frills but they're clean and welcoming.
I have a special needs son and he feels very comfortable here. That's not always the case.
Rooms: Clean. Welcoming.
Nearby activities: 10 mins drive to Sugarbush. Lawson's is also a 10 minute walk.

We went there at the end of January, because we decided to elope. Steve, the innkeeper, was more than accommodating and just an all-around great guy. We called ahead for a 1pm check in, because we needed to get ready for our nuptials at town hall, for 2 pm, and he said that would be fine. The inn is very old, I believe Steve had said it was built in 1825. He gave us some history on the building and a tour of the place. The rooms have an antique look. We had a four post bed, which my only complaint is that it hits the walls when...well ya know... but nothing a pillow didn't solve. ? The bed was super comfortable, and there was a vanity that I could sit and put my makeup on in front of. The hot water heater was being worked on when we got there, but eventually everything was all straight, and we managed to have a hot shower. The great room was my favorite place. Steve made sure the wood stove was going and there was a comfy couch, some games, and a music area. My husband and I utilized the music area the whole time we were there. Steve encouraged us to play music and sing, which we did for other guests staying there. It was also a great room to meet other guests there and get to know them.Breakfast was continental style, with some home cooking added in. Steve made us heart-shaped waffles in honor of us being newlyweds and offered to make us expressos. We will definitely be back. I think the owner should give Steve a raise. He was the host, the chef, the front desk guy, and the keeper of the fire. ?

I stayed with three friends for a week's ski trip. The rooms were good with very comfortable beds and plenty of storeage (Important for a ski trip). Another plus was that, in 20 plus years of visiting the valley, this was the first inn I have stayed at with a modern heating / air-conditioning system. It was a luxury sleeping through the night in a room permanently at a comfortable temperature (and silently)!Whilst the breakfast was continental style there was plenty of it and if you want a cooked breakfast for a change I would recommend Toast and Eggs, a couple of minutes drive down the road. This inn has become a rarity in the valley, offering a reasonably priced stay where all the other B&Bs seem to have become high-priced boutique B&Bs. As a plus, the Blue Stone bar and restaurant is just two doors down with a great choice of beers. Finally, thank you to Steve, our host, for looking after us during our stay in a helpful and friendly manner.

I had the pleasure of spending a night here during ski season. The inn keeper was very friendly and helpful. He thoughtfully gave me a tour of the inn sharing stories of other guests enjoying the common spaces together. The room was very clean, the bed was comfy and the linens were soft. Breakfast was delicious - the inn keeper baked fresh muffins and laid out real maple syrup with the waffles and home made granola. Geographically it’s centrally located and there’s even a grocery store up the street. I had a lovely time and will certainly be back sometime soon.

NO ONE welcomed us or said goodbye! It looks like an abandoned inn. A note with the key at reception and on top of that it was not the room we had chosen. Spartan room, without details or closet for clothes. Not even shower gel, just shampoo and a very bad hand soap. Tiny bathroom, burned out light bulb, etc. What I liked the most was the air conditioning, very quiet, and the views, very beautiful. Basic breakfast and no one welcomed us either. What a strange place!
