If you like easy trails and great conditions Mad is NOT for you. Great mountain, constant pitch no wash out. Tightest tree skiing in the East. Challenging. If you think you're good, Mad will humble you.

Ski it because you can! Don’t be intimidated. MRG is the best of the best. Nothing comes close. This year we started our season with an Autumn ride on the Single Chair to enjoy the fall foliage, but more importantly to leave some of Dads ashes at the top of the mountain. This is a special place in so many ways. Our family has so many fond memories. We can’t thank the Cooperative enough for what the provide.Enjoy Stark’s Pub and the General Store. Every part of this mountain is amazing.

Good food. Tucked back in resort. Not really any signage for the restaurant. Almost left because we couldn't find it. Glad we stayed. Enjoyed the food and conversation.

I TOTALLY agree with all the reviews about MRG. Growing up in Southern Vermont (where I learned to ski & board & race @ Haystack, Mt. Snow & Stratton) when I became a Vermont Alpine Racing Association (VARA) racer; MRG was one of my FAVORITE ?️'s to come to. BOTH because I cut my teeth and pushed myself doing the solo chair runs on Chute/Upper/Lower Liftline & Paradise + the overall experience and privilege of racing MRG. Riding the solo chair at "The Glen" and mastering all the expert runs off of it was what first REALLY tested me when I graduated from being an Intermediate/Expert skier.Later on, when I was in college in Massachusetts and coaching my own ? team, it became a "rite of passage" for each member of my team -- they would NOT be allowed to advance in their USCSA Eastern Division racing skill ranking UNLESS they'd mastered at LEAST one of the MRG expert runs off the solo chair -- THAT was the ultimate litmus test! The other was racing one regional race (or a Nationals practice) @ Whiteface in the Adirondacks. I wouldn't let you race in any other USCSA Regionals (& qualify for Nationals as an expert skier/racer) UNLESS you'd mastered at least ONE MRG expert run off the Solo Chair + run a regional USCSA race @ Whiteface during your first season on my team. Looking back on it now, that was good coaching on my part.

Didn't ski it this time due to rain and ice on date of photo but have enjoyed skiing here at MRG previously in better and snowy conditions. Groomed trails are narrow rolling and fun for intermediate skiers. Ungroomed trails and woods are plentiful and challenging for expert skiers. Love the views, rustic feel, single chair lift, and welcoming staff and ski patrol.

Perfect mountain for families and aggressive skiers. For people who aren't lining up for the corporate mountain gig and know a thing or two about the ski thing. Most importantly, literally the best burgers we have ever had at a ski resort. Took us back to the 1980's when food was real and not trying to be something it isn't. If we lived up near there we would join for sure.

Family friendly skiing at an affordable price. I went during Christmas week and it wasn't even that crowded because it's almost all friendly locals and the rest are tourists looking to have some fun!

Like Alta in UT and Arapahoe Basin in CO, Mad River Glen is the promise land for throwback skiing. This place is dripping with history, it feels like you've stepped back in time to the 1950's. The vibe is unbelievable, the terrain is awesome, and the single chair is a "must" ride. Mad River Glen also is home to the most challenging run in the Northeast called Paradise. I've skied them all and this run truly lives up to it's reputation. MRG is a must visit for any Northeastern skier!

The owners of MRG unfortunately have a really bad attitude. I'd recommend going to Okemo, Sunday River, Loon, Sugarbush, Bretton Woods, Attitash, Wildcat, Shawnee Peak, Cannon, Smuggler's Notch, Cranmore, Waterville Valley, Jay Peak, Bolton Valley, Gunstock, Stowe, King Pine, Suicide Six, Nashoba Valley, Pats Peak, Crotched, Sunapee, Saddleback, Pico, Ragged Mountain or literally any other mountain you can find on google instead.
