If you like easy trails and great conditions Mad is NOT for you. Great mountain, constant pitch no wash out. Tightest tree skiing in the East. Challenging. If you think you're good, Mad will humble you.

Good food. Tucked back in resort. Not really any signage for the restaurant. Almost left because we couldn't find it. Glad we stayed. Enjoyed the food and conversation.

Never went to, but I don't see the point on evaluating 1 star bc they don't allow boarders in. lol
Mad River Glen first cranked up its now famous Single Chair on Dec. 11, 1948. Roland Palmedo, the mountain’s founder, had built the Single Chair at Stowe in the 1930s when he became disenchanted with vying commercial interests and became committed to developing a new ski area for sport, not profit.
Mad River Glen offers the most challenging and diverse ski terrain in New England. The trails were cut to follow the mountain’s natural contours. On the one hand skiers can descend the entire 2,037’ of vertical on true expert terrain with absolutely no run-outs. On the other hand, Mad River’s mountain layout with a single base area makes it an ideal family mountain with plenty of blues and greens to satisfy every level of skier.
