Been once will never go back.The owner needs to get over herself and close up shop if she can't be courteous to a US Veteran that makes it so she has the freedom of owning a bookstore in Bellows Falls, Vt. in the first place.Simply because the Veteran brought in a book for a book signing that was not purchased for at this store today does not give the owner the right to be as disrespectful, hateful and rude as she was, by stating that "they don't like people that don't buy books." And that he "would have to stand in the back of the line to get a book signed" by local author Joseph A.Citro. The book signing was for The Vermont Ghost Experience on August.18, 2023. The author of the book has been advised and has been made aware.I am all for supporting local business but this establishment owned and operated by this individual doesn't belong in our community. Buy your books elsewhere that has better customer service and candor because it certainly is not this place! Put this woman out of business so she can enjoy living with her broke mean miserable self fulltime.Update 8/19/2023 this bookstore owner is trying to defend the indefensible in her response, go figures, she is a sick woman. I wasn't the person that was disrespected, I saw it happen and was appalled at the treatment of another customer.

It's one of my favorite bookstores. I travel from western Massachusetts just to browse their shelves. It is a small store, but it is well stocked, and you can do online orders if they don't have an item on hand. The personalized service is also first rate.

My whole family buys books here, special orders books through them and my daughtergoes on a book buying spree everytime she gets her allowance. Until now. My husband visited the store last weekend and went in, no mask, no problem. 3 hours later my daughter goes in, no mask, get thrown out before she is 2 steps in by some hateful female bully of a clerk. After the thousands of dollars we've spent there I am disgusted at thw treatment my daughter received and we will no longer support the shop until that clerk is no longer employees there.
