This has been the worst experience that I have ever gone through in my 73 years living in Maine. From the approved list of assemblers provided for us we chose an unscrupulous 5 star review one which obviously was not properly vetted. This guy took all of our funds and disappeared….There is no follow up from Jamaica Cottage as to the quality of the work being performed. One would think that their referral would mean something as to the name and reputation of their business but all you’ll ever get is complete lip service - that’s it. So, my heartfelt advice is to definitely steer clear and deal with a company that truly cares about their customers. A one star review is gracious, I would go lower if possible. Good luck….

This has been the worst experience my daughter and her fiancé have experienced with the putting together cabin they purchased from you with contractor and legal needed to get job done and things not right with parts not done on your end with with prefab construction. This should be if not done with lawyer be directed to the BBB for investigation as it has been a cluster mess from builder not doing job to your missing or incomplete building pieces sent to site by your end. I can send pictures but if more info needed I can submit it.

Superb materials, a pleasure throughout the process. Wood was excellent, plans and cuts were perfect. Made building the simple garage a lifetime dream come true. Highly recommend and will buy again.

All I can say is WOW! We couldn’t be happier. I am SO impressed with the entire package… from the instructions to the fasteners to the lumber AND each piece is numbered and color coded. Frankly the most difficult part was unloading the skid/pallet. It is evolving from a greenhouse to a she-shed…..herbs, veggies, painting, journaling , coffee with neighbors and an occasional glass of wine.
We no longer are considering moving!

I searched far and wide for a quality kit to build a wood shed before coming across Jamaica Cottage Shop. They had exactly what I was looking for. The variety of sizes and build-options far surpassed my expectations. The sales process was smooth and delivery was a breeze. The quality of the wood and step-by-step instructions was outstanding. For anyone who has spent hours at a big-box store culling through lumber just to find a few good pieces, this is the way to go.

Me and my wife purchased a cabin and mudroom from Jamaica Cottage and they were fantastic throughout the process. We originally had a contractor promise us a slab for delivery but back out and Jamaica Cottage held our inventory until we got another contractor to help us. They went above and beyond for us and we will do more business with them in the future. 10/10 I recommend!

Some of the wood was wring length by like 4 ft and they shipped a lot of extra wood plus 2 extra windows. Only real issue was sequence of packaging. Lots of hunting and pecking for like parts, took 2 guys 4 hours to find entire floor system but besides sequencing issue happy with product

My kit arrived two months early. Thanks for that. Did have an issue with one board, but Jamaica Cottage Shop took very good care for helping me get a replacement. Love the shed!!

Excited to get Gibraltar Cabin Kit thru Jamaica Cottage and reason went with them is it is a pre-cut kit and two people could be done within 36 hours. Took a 3 week vacation from Maui to Idaho to build on my property. Unpacked crates and stacked in groups based on color coding. Beginning with the floor saw issues with lumber not matching the inventory list provided and this was the theme thru out the build to the roof. The inventory list seemed outdated as measurements and lumber did not match inventory list which then created a mystery pile. Pre-cut kit became a re-cut kit or even having to fabricate pieces of lumber myself as they did not exist in the kit. Construction took five weeks and spent several days a week on the phone with them as they documented the issues. Followed up with photos and videos as this cost time, money and great frustration & was assured they would make this right. Six months later they offer a 10% discount on a future purchase, really? This is how they stand behind their product and I will not be using their discount.

Update: 2.16.24: I had a bit of an issue initially but the owner of the company contacted me and has has worked with me to ensure we are completely satisfied. He was pleasant and helpful. Although we haven't received our shed yet, I have seen their work in person and I know I will be receiving a top notch quality structure.

Jamaica Cottage Shop is wonderful. They provided exactly what my family was hoping for. From Josh who helped us through the design and purchase phase; to Fred who rescheduled right into three snowstorms until we finally got it right on a February day without a snowstorm; to Dave’s team (with Nate and Russ) who delivered our Florida Room (which we named Bugsy — because it will keep the bugs out). Thank you. Five stars easily.

As a self employed locksmith I appreciated the all-around experience of dealing with ***** from getting prompt return calls when I called off hours to on time delivery and a great product. The guy who helped me build it posted it on his website and is getting a lot of interest. We were missing an additional window we ordered and it arrived within a few days which impressed me greatly..We're putting in one more for the family and look forward to it
