I wish Vt Gas would not send a “thank you for your business” after each payment for a necessary service that keeps you from freezing to death if you can’t pay for it.

Due to the age of my gas meter, it needed to be changed. The service person Dave did an excellent job in sharing why the meter needed changing, how the process worked and how he was going to ensure gas appliances would be purged. Outstanding results and very quick ! Great job Dave !!!

Highly recommend. I called during the fourth of July holiday with no hot water. The on-call person provided excellent, but unfortunately rare, customer service. I was surprised a real local person actually answered the phone. She explained everything to me, was so kind, and scheduled a technician to come out the following day. The technician came, explained everything to me, offered options and explained next steps. Although I do need a new hot water heater, to replace my 13-year-old one, I am thrilled to be a VGS customer. Everyone I spoke to was so helpful and kind. Mindful that the cost is a lot these days and explained payment plans. They're doing something right over at VGS and their service should be a model for all others in the service industry. Thank you!

Alesha was the person whom I spoke today about billings and auto payment related issue.What a customer service! She is nice and helpful and patient on the phone.I was very much impressed by the services provided by her.I would recommend everyone to get the services from her.

I needed help replacing my water heater and called on Vermont Gas. They've been so helpful and courteous - and now I have hot water again!I call VGS about my problems early this morning. Within the hour, Dan was at my house. He evaluated the problem, made sure the new water heater would fit inside my cramped mechanical closet, and gave me a firm and reasonable price quote. A short time later, I received a call to schedule the work. The crew showed up right on time and did an excellent job removing the old unit and installing the new one. I did not envy them having to work in such a cramped space, but they did so without any complaint. They also left my home in great shape - in fact, you'd never know that they had been working here.Thank you Vermont Gas for having a great crew of people that are helpful, compassionate, and competent!

Never been impressed, every time I call for help the answer is no. Every time I call them it costs me money. They are never available and they are the only option. They constantly mess up my bill and during Covid allowed my bill to rise to over $500 without informing me the card wasn't working. So the bill just climbed and climbed and they had this attitude of "this is your problem, you MUST pay s now, on a huge payment or be shut off"Not happy, I've never been happy with these people and I have no other option.I'd recommend using portable refillable propane containers, or electric heat rather than these jokers. They'll drop the ball.

Been on hold for 1 hour 23 minutes and counting. Called at 8:30. Got a new electric water heater hooked up in September and my only gas coming in is the furnace I haven't turned on and I even shut the gas from coming in. My bill came in saying I used double my usage from the previous month. They also sent a tech to change my meter without telling me via email or phone. Found out when a random stranger started using power tools on the side of my home in the middle of the day. He seemed very annoyed that I had the nerve to ask him what he was doing.Not entirely sure how to deal with the situation moving forward but this is very much a great step in pushing me to go gas free starting today. Space heaters all winter I guess.

I have used Vermont Gas for over 30 years in 3 Burlington and Essex Junction. I have always found them courteous, knowledgeable and responsive within a short time frame and pleasant to work with. They have excellent customer service!

Overpaid on a bill. It's now been a month of trying to recover the overpaid amount. First VGS said they didn't have my money, then they said it was in the process of being returned by TD. Week later I find out my bank has been trying to recover the money for me, but VGS won't talk to them without my permission (no one ever approached me about this). Gave them permission to communicate directly with my bank. Now two attempts to recover my money have been made but VGS won't respond. Awful customer service if it even qualifies as customer service.
