Decent quality and pretty unique clothes

Recently, I went in and the staff noticed me as a regular which was nice. I like to shop the clearance racks here for great deals. The sizes are true to size, but the quality is hit or miss. It's definitely worth checking out though. I recently got a $36 shirt for $4. You can't beat that.

I'm from New York and was in town visiting my mom for the weekend. I stepped in mud and ruined my sneakers, therefore I had to go shopping. Rue21 was recommended to me by my mother's neighbor as she frequently shopped at this store. I looked online first at what types of shoes the store had, saw that they had the exact same shoes I was already wearing then went in store in search of the shoes. Nothing fancy. Went in store but same pair was $8 more than advertised so I asked cashier if they price match. Cashier said I'd have to get a manager so she went called one over to complete transaction. She introduced herself at first her name was Nicki. At first she was very kind but when I told her my story and about the advertising on the site she understood and approved the transaction and went on the way. I cashed out. Didn't leave the store yet... I was wearing my muddy shoes so I wanted to put these on right away. I sat down and proceeded to put in the pair of shoes when I noticed on the bottom was a huge split in the sole. I didn't try shoes on before as I already know my size and they were the exact same shoes as I already had so was supposed to be an easy thing. But there was a split in the sole like from a box cutter maybe? Anyways, I went to cashier to tell her but she had to get the manager Nicki again and after three attempts to get the manager, Nicki, she took a whopping 20 minutes to come back out from back. Cashier was telling me she does this a lot and she was so apologetic and just mortified about her manager taking so long. Once this manager came out I told her I saw that there was a slit in the sole of the shoe and I wanted to exchange. She said “but you left the store already And anything could've happened to the shoes in the meanwhile and that it's mot the stores fault!†I was actually very shocked because it was incredibly kind up until this point. I told her I never left the store look at the cameras. I just wanted to exchange the shoes I didn't see the problem. I bought the shoes that way. She told me “I can't get freebies in life, first the discount on shoes then exchanging them?†I asked what the issue was? It wasn't a discount it was price matching and I may have purchased them but never left store. At this point yeah I was pretty upset. And I did tell her just exchange the shoes or give me back a refund. Then she made a comment to the cashier “let's give out free stuff to everyone why don't we?†Cashier did look petrified at this point. Anyway, she gave me an even exchange. But honestly I probably made things worse by refusing the exchange and requesting a refund in full. She was so angry at this point, not only that but slamming shoes on floor, kicked them behind a box and said “more money out the door!†I took my cash and said to her “now you have a wonderful day†and I walked out.
