Where do I start? I've been a customer for over 10 years and it seems there is always SOMETHING frustrating about dealings with Suburban. With the exception of the last woman I spoke to (got you an extra star) everyone else I've ever dealt with at suburban has seemed extraordinarily inconvenienced by having to talk and answer questions. Until the last woman I spoke to, no one has ever taken care to make sure she adequately answered my questions. I've felt as though certain situations were bait and switch, and then get unexpected bills later. My last encounter was much better than previous encounters (I've dealt with some downright nasty people there), so I'm going to keep an open mind that the company culture has improved. Maybe in time the star rating will go up, but for now 2 is all I can give you.

6.81 a gallon for propane, more than twice the state average and they don't even have a technician. The bum they sent out to look at my furnace last year, "Shane" stood me up 3 times before I decided to find someone competent. I am going to switch providers this spring. Absolutely THE WORST Company buy fuel from.

Scalpers! $6.81/gallon 1/25/2024. Average CPG in Vt., $2.87. I have auto delivery since 2020, paid tank rental and consume 400 gal/yr. The reason given for the outrageous rate was that I do not use enough gas. As they installed (2) 250 gallon tanks they should be able to schedule less than the five or six deliveries a year, if that is their concern.

Both my oil and propane is currently serviced through Suburban Propane. If you try to schedule a delivery of oil or propane, do not expect to be told what day it will be filled. Instead you will be told to wait 7 to 10 business days. You will also NOT be notified when the delivery has been made. If you try to schedule a furnace inspection or cleaning, do not expect to be told a time to expect the service. If you are someone who needs to request time off from work to be there for the service then you will need to request the whole day, or a half day. This is because Suburban will give you a 4 hour window to expect the service employee to show up. I thought we were past this trend that was typical of cable companies in previous decades, but apparently I was wrong to expect that much from Suburban. Overall, you can expect to recieve piss poor service from this company. To include employees over the phone treating you as if you are an inconvenience. Not...not great.As many have mentioned here (and we didn't check soon enough), we've had massive billing problems, issues with drivers not filling the tank for unknown reasons and a complete disregard for our yard and privacy.The drivers, even after contacting the office, continue to go through the back of our home instead of the front and side that has a cut grass path for walking and - a very obvious side of the home that is public and front facing. I didn't imagine I needed an electric fence to keep just one companies drivers out of, again, a very obvious private space.Aside from this, the drivers, due to continuing to violate the backyard, have trampled flowers and other growth in our yard that we had planted.Again, like others say, the drivers seem to do things that don't make sense or seem against common sense or the obvious - even after the office was contacted.One can only assume that the office is doing what they attempt but the drivers they employ are not competent - alongside a strong billing department problem.Regardless, this was our last service from them since it was required to compensate for our overpayment and we'll be finding another provider.

One of the worst companies, left without propane for 4 days when the weather was below freezing. Can’t for the life of me understand why they would actually ask for a google review. If you have any other options for a propane provider in your area definitely use them. Could not recommend less.

I would love to thank Emily and the crew who came and installed a tank and got us hooked up, same day! No one was able to help us and it was winter but these professionals did it like it was nothing. Although we’re new customers to Suburban, we are very impressed already! Thanks again!

I am on Suburban's auto-fill program, but I made an online request for an oil delivery the day after Christmas. The delivery person showed up soon after to fill my tank. It wasn't until I spoke with her after that I found out the delivery was on the auto-fill schedule for that day, not due to my online request. The irony and coincidence is a bit crazy, but bottom line . . . your delivery driver was wonderful, she could not have been more helpful or nicer. I am very VERY pleased. Thank You.
