Went to get an alignment and tires mounted and balanced and they said my car needed 1400$ worth of work in order to get it done I checked all the tires when I got home there was no movement so I brought it to another shop and they aligned it with no issues or parts having to be replaced.. Also wanted to charge me 400$ for a part that should of at the most been 200$

I had steering rack replaced in my Audi A6.and 2new tires. The work inluded a 4 wheel alignment. Let's just say, the tire pressure was not correct by 8 psi in one tire 9 in the other. I had a real bad rubbing sound when breaking on the driver's side front the cause, shield on the back side of rotor was rubbing on the rotor. And the vehicle pulled to the right. I was not very pleased with how my car was handling so I brought it back to have it looked at . The service work costed a lot of money the alignment I don't feel is correct.andim really nervous about bringing it back when it should've been fixed the second time. I don't know a thing about alignments but my paperwork shows a positive alignment on drives side green but passenger side is negative red . My car doesn't seem to handle the same way before I brought it for service work on the steering rack very very disappointed Still..

I really like this place. They have always given me what I needed rather than adding on unnecessary services, and are always friendly.

My go to place to get my car serviced. Friendly, honest and reliable. They do get busy and booked. So, make sure to call ahead. Plenty of chairs to sit on in the waiting area.

We got there when the place opened. We had a tire that needed to be plugged. They told us that they might get to it today. It is a 5 minute job. We went to Midas and they did it in a matter of minutes.

I have been using J&L since I got my truck. My brother recommended them. I have never been unhappy with either their cost or their service. And they don’t try to hard sell or upsell me, which I appreciate.

Excellent customer service and follow up. It's hard to find a mechanic like this garage. Always quality work.

I was looking for a vehicle inspection. They were very booked but they were nice enough to tell me that a dealership might be able to help me and even gave me a phone number! Now I call that neighborly!

After doing research on car shops in saint albans. I picked this one. First the girl at the front desk is super friendly. She makes you feel welcome. I can’t remember her name ugh. But thank you for doing that. I scheduled an appointment for my brakes to be replaced and they were very helpful. They told me it wasnt urgent but it can be changed and it was up to me. I went ahead and changed it. Definitely recommend this place!

I have more respect for armed robbers. They are more honest then these greedy cockroaches. Avoid this place at all cost.

These guys are just after your money.First, failed my car for rust on the brakes (new requirement in VT) where my wife's passed at a mechanic we trust and her brakes were "worse" than mine but still safe and within VT State Inspection spec.Second, sent my wife's car for a tire swap and was told the front bushings were shot and had an exhaust leak. Again took it to a trusted mechanic, flex shield on exhaust was loose, no exhaust leak, and bushings are still tight with no visible damage and no play. One tire leaked after a tire change to winter tires, it wasn't leaking before the swap, then told our valve stem was leaking and the whole TPMS had to be replaced and we now owe them more (surprise!).Never going back. Don't go unless you know how to check their diagnoses yourself. An edit to respond to the owner's response:I appreciate your professional reply, however I disagree with your assessment. This was my test to see if I could trust the shop since I live close by, they failed.6 weeks of tire leaks, yes. I filled them from my air tank, they leaked since the swap at about a 15psi leak per 2 weeks and my wife only drives every 2 weeks. They didn't leak before, but for a valve stem (what, $0.50 part?) I was charged $23. I'm sure that's labor, but says they don't stand behind their work. I didn't want to go back but my wife was convinced they'd fix the issue as it wasn't present before and she made the appointment. I assumed TPMS replaced as it was $23 and I didn't see the print out.The concerns regarding ball joints and exhaust leaks: I messed up the terminology, my bad, however I provided my mechanic the print out from J&L and he did a full front end suspension check with nothing found and checked the full exhaust with no leaks found, just tightened the exhaust shield. I asked him to find anything he could and I'd pay to fix it. Note: He did not recommend waiting for them to "get worse" as they were in fine working condition.I will concede that the inner surface of my brakes was noted on my print out which is why I put it on a lift at home. I am not a mechanic, but it was less rust, when measured from the outer diameter and added together as defined in VT Inspection, than my wife's car (which passed inspection) and I asked my mechanic to double check the brake rust per VT State Inspection guidelines for a comparison.I challenge the honesty of the mechanics at J&L as I've seen in a couple other reviews. So far I have had a trusted mechanic tell me they misrepresented a couple of major issues. It's not worth going back.
