I was looking for a decorative and functional light to read by in the early morning hours. I needed one which was portable, and also set the mood for wherever I would use it. Having always loved tall ships, Vermont Lanterns provided the best choice and price for a quality crafted lantern. I chose the 13.5†electric clear glass Nautical brass Nelson lantern and I'm exceptionally pleased. It's a beautiful piece that compliments any room or area with glowing ambiance!

I highly recommend Vermont Lanterns. I was unsure of which lantern and accessories to order for an upcoming camping trip and called for advice. I found their customer service to be knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and friendly. Their shipping is fast! The lantern I purchased is well-built and absolutely adorable. I was looking for something to use to replace tealight candles in a camping lantern. I found their website and saw a lantern that had an insert that was removable. I emailed the company, explaing what I was looking for and, eventually, I was informed that the inset for this paticular lantern could be sold seperately. When I called to place the order, the gentleman was very nice and helpful answering my (to me) seemingly stupid questions. They arrived today and I am SO happy! These were the perfect solution!

If you have a problem with a lantern, Kirtan Carr is the one to talk to. I blew my glass out by having the wick too high. Make sure you have the wick just above the plate that it comes out of. I had it protruding from the dome above the plate. Anyway, when I get my 15" hurricane lantern fixed, I'm gonna hang her outside in the first Wisconsin Blizzard of the year and see what she'll do. I order some oil lamps. I can't wait for them to get here. I hope they are just as pretty in pictures as they are in person. I can't wait. Cause my husband and I live on a big ranch in co. We were going to use them for light when the power goes out. Yes, also for home decorations. I hope they get here fast.

Ordered a 13" nautical lantern online. Easy ordering process, arrived via FedEx just a day later (I'm only one state away), the price was good, and the lantern itself is exactly what I'd hoped for. Quality is good, and it arrived well packed. Although great care was taken in packing the lantern (box within a box, padding everywhere) the glass globe arrived cracked due to rough handling. Called Vermont Lantern, immediately got a person on the phone, explained my situation, gave the order number, and they've already shipped out a replacement globe free of charge. Should arrive within the week. This is exactly the kind of online shopping experience I wish was standard across the web. I'd recommend this business to my family and friends.
