It doesn't cost a fortune to care for your loved one. The doctor and receptionist (wife) are exceptional. I trust them with my life because without my pets my life would be awful lonely..

We were visiting Vermont from Colorado with my dog Noodles when I noticed that he had an issue with his foot. We tried to get him into other vets closer to where we were staying, but they were not very interested in seeing him, which I get. All vets are busy and have full caseloads with their regular clients. Dr. Knutsen got us in right away and took great care of my beloved elderly Yorkie. He performed surgery right away and extracted a huge thorn. I never even heard a whimper from my dog and he wasn't fully sedated! I was expecting a big bill- being that we are not regular clients and it was an emergency visit. Not only was the bill very reasonable, but it was well under what I would have paid for the same office visit at home. I enjoyed the office staff- they are "call it like they see it" people which I take as a sign of honesty and integrity. And Noodles fully recovered and enjoyed the rest of his stay in Vermont!

Completely unorganized. Disconnected from reality. It’s not their fault they can’t write numbers down or keep track of appointment times. Owner/manager doesn’t want to hear their faults. Just wants to make excuses for poor management

Very professional always puts the care and safety of my fur babies first. They also won't charge you unreasonable prices. Proud to have them as my vet.

Love love love Dr Ray, but can’t stand the way his front desk speaks to people. We have been going there for years. But ever since Covid hit, and the front desk changed hands we never feel welcomed or comfortable at the office.

I've seen the comments about the lady at the front desk. She's been pretty kind to me, not sure why I differ from others. She did give me a little bit of sass the first time I visited but when I ended up crying over my sick cat, she was very kind and gave me some tips on how to help before the vet visit. I will continue to bring my cat here as I enjoy Dr. Ray and the service we have received for our boy :)

They need to remove the hospital title from their name! I am beyond disappointed with this veterinarian place! Had an emergency with a dog in the Rutland County area because I am not a client or the dog is not a client of theirs I was dismissed like a piece of trash! How dare you call yourself an animal hospital. I would rate this place less than 1 star but you can't in google.

Dr Ray has always been great, however, the lady at the front desk is always unnecessarily rude, after the third trip here with my dog, we will not be back, strictly because of how nasty that woman is.

Very rude front desk Staff! I would never take my animal here just based on talking to the staff at the front desk!

We took our dog here when he all of a sudden started having hip trouble. The vet misdiagnosed him for starter’s, which we didn’t know until 4 days later when we had to put him down. 4 days after our visit to this vet, my husband and I returned home from work and our beloved dog that we loved so much, was not able to stand up on his own. I called the vet around 7 pm, for him to call me back to tell me there was nothing he could do. Even after explaining that he couldn’t even stand up to go outside to go to the bathroom. He said We could bring him In the morning for x rays. He was cold and rude! We found a 24 hour vet service in New Hampshire, about an hour and a half away. We called them and they said to bring him in as soon as we could. Unfortunately, we had to put our precious dog down last night. He was suffering and had been suffering because of the vet’s misdiagnosis and lack of care. He is a monster. If you love your animals don’t bring them here!

I have been taking my 6yr old maltipoo and 2 year old sister cats to Center Rutland since we moved here two years ago. My dog needs regular dental cleanings which they provide. It is THE most affordable I’ve found in any area. The staff have always been gracious and timely with appointments. Just this week my cat had a foreign object stuck in her intestines. They got her in immediately and after multiple tests they were able to do an emergency surgery. The communication and compassion was beyond my expectations. We were able to take her home the next day. I called two days later concerned about the amount of food she was getting and they wanted us to bring her in right away. Dr. Ray showed us how to properly feed and medicate an unwilling cat. I’m very impressed with the care we received, the office staff as well as the clinical. Thank you!

After taking my dogs here for several years, I give Dr Ray a thumbs up. However, his wife Marilyn at the front desk is insulting and lacks the customer service skills necessary for a receptionist. My Yorkie who is 14 plus years old started dragging her back leg and collapsing after a few steps. I was told I could “drop her off” the following morning and they would call me. I explained that Ellie, my Yorkie was very nervous and couldn’t tolerate being dropped off. I wanted Dr Ray to examine her with me there so I could put her at ease. She told me if X-rays and bloodwork had to be done I would be holding up everyone else’s appointments. I repeated that I would have to stay with my pup until Dr Ray could see her. I was informed absolutely not that’s not how we do things around here. Then she told me good luck and hung up. Not acceptable to me so I will find someone who can treat me and my fur babies with respect.
