High expectations were not met. Although the service, atmosphere, and drinks were outstanding, the food was just... bland is the best word to describe it. Salmon with fettuccini and green vegetables were so heavy on the sauce that the flavors of the fish, asparagus, and peas were lost. The mushroom gravy on the poutine was similar in density and blandness. (Warm rolls would be a nice touch, but now I'm getting picky). We'll see what their summer menu is like, and try again.

Okay, so I wasn't sure how to review this place because well it was sort of just not that spectacular - sort of an average experience.I love to support local businesses so I was debating on what I wanted to share but at least on the night I went it was just not very memorable. I ordered a burger and yes, it wasn't fantastic, nor bad, just sort of alright. The thing that I took note of is that I got charged maybe $5 for bacon add-on which normally I wouldn't say anything about but the burger itself was $18 and well that's an expensive burger with the bacon on top, and the bacon when it arrived with it was unpronounced which was a bummer, they used a small amount of bacon bits. The food we ordered was more like comfort American and just more expensive than you'd expect elsewhere. I guess price of dining is expensive and so is running a restaurant, so maybe that's less of an issue but relative to other places I have tried, I wouldn't go out of my way to try this place out.

A bit drafty that cold morni g for brunch. Old building, good atmosphere.

Came for a Sunday brunch. The food was delicious. I had challah French toast. Mimosa’s were wonderful. The lay outs a little strange and felt less intimate than I like, coughing children in close proximity but over all a lovely spot.Kid-friendliness: Lots of young loud and coughing children in close proximity. Maybe have a separate “family friendly” area for people who want to bring their 5 kids to Sunday brunch?

We just had the best dinner at The Kitchen Table, a warm, inviting restaurant in Richmond. Flavorful and unfussy food, ambiance, great staff. I saved room for dessert and it was well worth it. Make sure to go and support these local folks because they are such good cooks!

Unfortunately our experience did not live up to the nearly 5 star reviews. Service was polite and welcoming and clearly working hard. Food was one let down after another. Ordered 2 apps, fried Brussels sprouts which were overly charred but also overly saturated in a sauce. The caramelized french onion dip arrived cold. The risotto was really overcooked and mushy and my husband’s burger was underdone (ordered medium and more medium rare) which wasn’t a huge deal but seems like the meat didn’t rest after cooking as his bun was soggy with juice before eating. Was excited to eat here after the reviews but sadly will not be returning.

I was finally able to check out The Kitchen Table for a much needed date night and it didn’t disappoint! From start to finish I felt well taken care of and the atmosphere was soft, warm and calming. I had the Short Ribs and my partner got the Risotto which we shared and both were absolutely delicious. The kind of melt in your mouth delicious where you are comfortably full yet able to still have room and enjoy some dessert! The wine list has everything you want to pair kindly and the espresso martini I had with the Matilda cake left me feeling more than satisfied. Highly recommend and will be returning!

Spectacular! What an amazing and grand experience we had. The service was prompt and highly knowledgeable. Friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. You couldn't ask for a more charming atmosphere for a date night in Chittenden County.Last but certainly not least is the meal. The Kitchen Table had a comprehensive wine and beer list that pairs so well with the menu. We were more than thrilled with the short ribs and risotto that we ordered. Flavor was exceptional and the portion sizes are more than enough to qualify for a legitimate entrée. Needless to say this will be a recommendation going forward and plans to return are already in the talks!

To preface, it was Saturday night. We got seated right away, and then waited quite a while for a waitress. When she finally arrived, we ordered apps and drinks. They came in an OK time frame. But, our main course had not yet been ordered even after the apps were finished. Note that food runners brought the food, not the waitress. When we finally flagged her down, she took our order. Some ordered a second drink. Then, we waited a very long time. The food finally arrived and it was cold. It tasted good, but cold food! The 2nd drinks still never came until we flagged the waitress again. Btw, this whole time the app plates were still on the table. Because it was a special occasion we ordered dessert and coffee. It came in an OK time.To top it off, one meal was priced differently on the bill than the menu, but this wasn’t discovered until the next day. It’s only $4.00, but still it’s annoying.

If you are even remotely close to this place GO! The food is insanely delicious. The quality and attention to detail in the food is top tier. The atmosphere is romantic, cozy and all the things you want. You can tell everyone loves working there and loves the food and takes pride in their work. I can’t rave enough about the quality of ingredients. The short ribs are a must, a religious experience in your mouth. But make sure to save room for dessert because chef Sam has put her heart and soul into it.

Excellent service, food, and cocktails! The bartender was super helpful and knowledgeable while we chose cocktails. I even got just a simple ceaser salad with grilled chicken and it was honestly the best one I’d ever had. My husband got their classic burger and he really enjoyed it, and he’s a huge fan of their thinner cut fries. They did a great job, and have a great selection of items on their menu without being too long or too short with their amount of options. Overall a great experience!

The Kitchen Table is now serving the best brunch!! If you’ve been craving a brunch spot with amazing food, relaxed vibes, a full bar, house made everything, at reasonable prices, look no further! Finally a locally owned brunch spot that is reminiscent of Mirabelles (from years past) but takes it even higher. Highly recommend the fluffy pancakes, the breakfast sandwich on a house made biscuit, the house made English muffins, the hashbrowns, basically everything on the menu. Knocks the socks off every other brunch spot from Burlington to Montpelier!Kid-friendliness: Relaxed vibes at brunch, family friendly atmosphere, great service, good “Sides” menu for smaller portions.
